Coleman is fantastic. IDK what you guys are talking about...separation - the guy returned punts for FSU and caught everything. He ran a bad 40 but is an absolute stud. Go watch some CFB...

I agree.  I think he’s quietly the guy they could be targeting

That coupled with cover 1s take all off season that there was no way the Bills could afford to trade or cut Diggs.

Sal Cappaccio was very much in the same boat this offseason. Dismissed any mention of the murmurs that the Bills might be open to moving off Diggs. Then post trade, he's kind of acted like he was surprised but did leave the door open to it being possible, which isn't true at all.

I have no issue with people having a take that turns out to be completely wrong, but just own up to it, and say you got it wrong. Don't try to bend what you've been saying all offseason to minimize how wrong you were

To be fair i don’t think anyone was expecting the Bills to trade Diggs over the financials.  People are wrong sometimes.  It’s ok

Please provide me with an example outside of Denver and Greenbay that have as much money tied up as us on no production

You wanna point out the flaws that’s easy.  You can do it with every team and GM

    Wyatt Teller give away

    Edmunds

Just curious why he is so highly regarded when these issues have come to roost fully

Go look at other teams and you’ll have a different opinion

The timing makes no sense for the Bills unless we’re accumulating trade capital.  On its own, we’re getting a 2025 2nd rounder and have to take the full Diggs cap hit this year.  Might as well wait to trade him after June 1st if you’re only getting a 2025 pick anyway.

No such thing as post June 1st savings with a trade

You're happy we lost Diggs and a 6th this year to move up to the 2nd next year from the 5th? I get we had to purge salary but feels like too much to me.

Thats good value for a 31 year old declining player.  Dallas got much less for cooper and chargers got less for Allen.

Salary dump for a player in the latter part of his prime. Better to bail too early than too late. This draft is wr rich. If we are a consistent 10+ win team the draft pick we get is important in keeping us competitive.

That said Stefon has a lot of good football left. I don't like the fact that he's still in our conference. Some combination of Josh, Beane and Clappy thought this was the right move. I'm at peace with it.

Patriots did this all the time and were called revolutionary for it.  Bills do it and the pitchforks come out

Perhaps it's been verified many times (can't look at all 67 pages but I've seen many) but here is the news from the Bills themselves that we get the VIkings 2nd rounder in 2025:

    The terms of the trade:

Buffalo receives a 2025 second-round pick (via the Vikings)

    Houston receives WR Stefon Diggs, a 2024 sixth-round pick (No. 189 overall) and a 2025 fifth-round pick

    https://www.buffalobills.com/news/bills-and-texans-agree-to-terms-on-trade-to-send-wr-stefon-diggs-to-houston

Given that the Vikings were 7 and 10 last season and with no Cousins now, that second could be in the top 5 picks of the round, or close.

So if we lost a 1st in a trade, we'd have a pick not too far after with the Vikings second...

Depending on how far they want to move up that 2nd they just got will be gone too

Diggs was a great receiver for the Bills and it's no coincidence that Josh's career took off with his arrival.

It's disappointing to see so many Bills fans turn on diggs

That’s what most fans do.  It’s a coping mechanism of the loss they know it will be.

Don’t understand why we waited this long if the situation was so dire.  The return is bad by any objective measure.  We actually gave up more to give up a wr1 declining receiver and for little return.  If the relationship was unmanageable they should have known that months ago.

A likely top 40 pick next year isn’t “little” return for an aging player
