McGovern is gonna be that guy. I think they really like Edwards as well as he is a Kromer guy. I do too. McGovern is a natural center, played center in high school, so the dude has been snapping a long time. He will be fine. Draft somebody late sure, but there is no reason to spend a high draft pick on a center.

Shorter and Hollins will battle for backup outside WR and gunner role.
Winners have shot at WR 5 or 6 spot. WR 2 and 4 are not on roster yet.
Agreed. 2 will likely come by draft and there are a few 4 types on the market.

Just to add, he is, allegedly, a great guy and a leader who is a huge weirdo. It is good to have those eccentric guys around when there is a ridiculous amount of pressure on the team to win. At the very least he will be fun.

He's probably a 5, maybe the 4 I was talking about in the other thread he's a gunner, and has some size.
I had him on my radar last year as a guy who could help. Has some traits. Still a ton of work to do at that position.

A guy like Hardman played 56% of his snaps in the slot. Quez Watkins was a 63% guy. So those guys have some flex ability.
Just for data purposes, Kincaid played 50% of his snaps from the slot and Shakir played 69%. Harty was 50%.
Isaiah Mckenzie in the 4 role in 2021 played in the slot 43% of the time, while that same year, the pure slot Beasley was there for 82% of his snaps.
I think we will see Shakir's snaps go up some in the slot. This team needs an outside starter #2. They also need what Beane calls his 4, that guy who can play inside and outside and help on special teams.

That's what they brought in Harty for. He was the 4 who also doubled as a backup slot. A guy like Renfrow is redundant and offers pretty much nothing outside of slot play. I don't think you need a straight backup slot. You also have Kincaid who plays some slot. Renfrow would serve no purpose on this roster IMO.

Shakir and Kincaid are the slot players here. If you add a guy to the WR mix as the #4, it should be a pure speed guy, Quez Watkins, Andy Isabella, Scotty Miller, Mecole Hardman. I know Renfrow brings a lunchpail, but he doesn't move the needle at all.

He's a nickel player who plays teams. Short arms and all that so he isn't an outside corner and I am not sure he is a candidate for a safety conversion. He was a guest speaker at my school and was awesome with the kids, so as far as I know, he's a good dude.

If they signed him for league minimum, under that 1.7 million comp number, then great. Good depth. Anything more than that is ridiculous. To me these are the types of signings you make in June after the draft.-

If ya want, go back and watch him vs the Bills. He was awful. Late hit on Allen, then he called out Josh saying he’s a crybaby or something. Then he had a cheap shot on Diggs. He was also the guy 5 yards behind Cook on the pass he dropped. This is a nothing, nobody signing.
