I am partial to the yellow and brown:

Soup guys? I could see them adding some depth O-Line. There are a bunch of centers/guards out there who could add depth or compete with Edwards that will be cheap. Brian Allen makes sense as a Kromer guy who was released. Evan Brown is young with potential.
At WR I would take a peek at Laviska Shenault. He isn't quite a traditional wide receiver, but a guy that you can maybe get for the minimum who can do a lot of things on the field. Durability is the biggest concern, but there have been times he has looked like Deebo Samuel or Cordarelle Patterson out there. He's still just 25 years old and I feel like he is a toy Brady could make use of. He can play inside and out, some RB, and returns kicks. 6-1, 227.
At DE Rasheem Green could make some sense. He has some sack production in the past, is a traditional DE, and is still young. James Smith-Williams is a depth end from the Commanders who has size and length and is coming from the same system. Those guys aren't really moving the needle, but could be functional cheap depth. The edge FA class is a barren wasteland outside of Mike Danna and Jadaveon Clowney.
At DT, I would like to see them maybe sign a 1 tech like Joseph-Day and then take a shot at a former highly drafted guy for the minimum like Marlon Davidson or Taven Bryan, guys who can give you some rotational interior pass rush.

28 is basically round 2 - but you get the 5th year option.
I get it, I just don’t think they value the position there at that point in the draft. It just doesn’t seem to Beane’s MO. Dating back to his time in Carolina, they have literally never drafted a IOL in the first round. Just doesn’t seem likely to me.- 1

I can’t see them doing it. They don’t draft IOL and RTs in the first round

Thank you for posting!
If anyone watches this breakdown and still hates the move they are crazy. If you can’t envision the element of explosive playmaking he will bring, I don’t know what to tell ya!- 2

Ashtyn Davis is also a FA FS option to keep an eye on.
Davis is interesting. I think the issue is that he hasn’t done anything at all as the Jets never really gave him a shot after his rookie year. He is also going on 28. He’s actually older than Taylor Rapp. But he has some traits that are interesting and could be an interesting upside play. -
Ayyyo my guy! He’s a perfect fit for what we do. Great athlete, tackles, has a nose for the football.

I like Simmons a lot. I also like Blackmon who some have mentioned medicals on. But it would not bother me for them to wait until after the draft to make a move at the safety position. If you aren't signing Simmons, it probably makes sense to wait.

Taron had a subpar 10-yard shuttle during his combine workout.
I don’t like this deal one bit.He also got decapitated by a football in the gauntlet! But he still made it!

Yuck. Very underwhelming. Poor efficiency. Rather draft a guy late vs Mattison.
Yeah I mean I would look at him as a role player the way he was a couple of years ago. You just need a guy to get like 300-400 yards and 5-7 TDs which is what he was and he was very efficient at that job. In terms of being full time starter, he was not very good. IMO a guy like that complements the RB room.
-
I'd try to grab Alexander Mattison for very very cheap. He has proven he can play, but can't be the main guy. He would be perfect in that Murray role and is still young. he was also released, so no comp pick impact. I also happen to really like Ty Johnson.

He started 13 games on a defensive unit that allowed 17.9 points per game (2nd in the NFL).
And before anyone claims he was just hidden around the other secondary talent, remember that Jordan Poyer was banged-up that entire year and playing with one-arm, Tre White didn't even get on the field until Thanksgiving and our cornerback spots were handled mostly by Dane Jackson and two rookies (Christian Benford, Kaiir Elam).
Hamlin wasn't a turnover-machine or an All-Pro. But he was solid at the very least. And considering it was just his second year, I think he still has/had promise to grow into something more. I'm not sure where he's at physically or mentally, and that makes all the difference. But I wouldn't necessarily count him out.
I think you have to count him out, and maybe be pleasantly surprised that he becomes anything again. If the brain trust here is betting on him being something again, that would just be terrible planning. In all likelihood, he is cut at the end of camp. Hamlin was okay a couple of years ago before the crazy stuff he endured, but I don't think he will ever even return to that "okay" player much less ever become more than that.
At this point, futures deal guy like Kendall Williamson is more interesting and more likely to have an impact than Hamlin is. JMO.

Do we know what number he’s choosing?
Finally something that matters! Nah he said “we’ll see about that” when asked in the press conference. I’m going to guess 0 or 1.- 1

It’s crazy to me that Pickett is actually a couple months older than Jalen Hurts.

Oh and drafting a receiver at #5.
Is Blackmon still out there? I'll keep my fingers and everything else crossed.
Haven’t heard anything on Blackmon yet! I will join you in the crossing of things -

I'm good going cheap at safety. The breadth of the FA market means we can get solid starters in the cheap 2nd wave.
I still want to see where Simmons goes. But I really like Blackmon as well. Spots are drying up!- 1

Can someone fill me in on why this is some great signing? Guy has put up fairly pedestrian numbers in two different spots. Not saying he won't be a contributor, but this giving me Jamison Crowder vibes.
I think it’s more John Brown-ish with more versatility in terms of how he is used.- 3

100% still draft a WR in the first round. Keep adding weapons. Samuel complements the WR group perfectly and doesn’t force them into a “type” of receiver. They have Diggs, Shakir, Samuel, Kincaid..all guys who add dimensions to the offense. Now you can just take the best receiver left. I like what they are doing. Call me crazy! Let’s outscore everyone.

You don't think Alec Anderson was groomed to take over?
So you're thinking David Edwards at LG or a draft pick if McGovern takes over Center?
I think it's Edwards at LG with McGovern at center. Edwards has started a whole bunch in the league and was looking like he was one of the best young guards in the league before his concussion issues.
I get that some people are into Alec Anderson for some reason, and I see that they like him, but I haven't seen enough of him to know if he is anything. If he is competing for a starting spot, something has gone very wrong IMO. Edwards and McGovern are so much better and it isn't close IMO. A guy like Ryan Van Denmark is interesting to me because of his very high 9.44 RAS score. Anderson is a lunch pail former RT who scored a 1.02 on the RAS. I just don't think that is all that projectable.
I could see them adding a vet center like Brian Allen. Then I would feel a lot better about our depth there.
Anderson just doesn't do it for me, JMO. I hope he turns into something, I just think it's hard for unathletic UDFA linemen to become great linemen. Guys like Jason Peters, Brian Waters who had crazy athleticism as former tight ends can become great. It's about projection for me. I hope Anderson surprises me!

Yeah I feel like he has some crossover appeal. I know Atlanta used him inside and out, but that was awhile ago. Obviously, he hasn't been super productive, but scouring the free agent market I was trying to find some younger guys with some pedigree. Bryan I see as a bit similar to Oliver, which could be good as a backup.
I do think the Joseph-Day signing should happen regardless of what else they do at the position. I think he would be a perfect rotational 1 tech to go along with Jones.
