    Nope.

It would feel like missing out on big Ben and drafting JP all over again.

Big Ben, Mahomes, Watson... JP, EJ, Jackson. I cannot disagree.

Are you serious??? There is no way in hell the Bills would trade our 2019 first rounder for this pick! At best we would swap a mid-round second for for 2018 first rounder at #22 and they can Shaq Lawson or a dirty bag of jock straps!

I keep seeing mock drafts that have the Bills giving far too much. I do believe that any of the top 6 picks this year are platinum. I would love to get to 6 and take the best player available this year.

I do not believe that getting to the Giants pick at #2 is an option any more. The Jets killed the value chart wit their trade and we would have to over pay with a 2019 #1 and both 1st rounders this year. Personally if I were the Giants I would try and get Buffalo's 2x 1's and next years at all costs or take Rosen.

If the Bills take a chance on a QB it will most likely be Lamar Jackson at #22, because he is a Brian Daboll type QB that ca be developed for 1-2 years. If Allen or Mayfield fall to 6-9 we will see a trade. They are both are worth the risk, but not for a bounty.

I see the draft unfolding like this. Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, Barkley, Chubb, Trade Alert: Josh Allen (Buffalo swaps #22 for #49 and a 2nd next year).... The Colts need to walk away with about 5- 6 potential starters this year. Note: he Giants could take Chubb or Barkley or Nelson.

    I think it's down to 3 QB's

    Rosen

    Allen

    Rudolph

Rudolph is my worst nightmare. Rosen looks solid. Allen I am good with between pick 5-22, because he is worth the risk. Darnold (USC yuk) has some risk but will play for 10 years. Mayfield is a winner but can't see over the line. Lamar looks like Vick 2.0, like a Ferrari in LA traffic.

It’s not awful,  but I’d prefer not to waste the #22 pick on Jackson. I’d prefer to bring in a WR with that pick over Jackson. I’m in the camp of wanting Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield, and I won’t be completely satisfied with anything less. With that said, if we can’t/don’t get one of those guys; I think I’d rather roll with what we have before using a pick on a second tier QB.

I am too and I am not a fan of Vick 2.0. I am just afraid of not having anyone to develop. I think we will try to find away to get to pick #2, but if not I want to build a team like Jacksonville until we can secure a franchise QB.

I could live with it, I don't think Jackson is capable of beating out McCarron. I love all the other picks though.

If you switch Jackson and Mike White I think it would be even better.

HA! White is my late pick of the draft. He is the guy I would sit behind Tom Brady or Drew Brees. I thought White sucked at the combine, but at the Senior bowl he looked very good.

I would take a RT, WR or TE at #22 with my draft if they were to pass on Jackson.

I agree. That is why I posted this. I am tired of waiting.

Would you take Allen at #12 or do you think he is a complete bust? He loves football and seems competitive. I think he is somewhere between Blake Bortles and Ben Roethlisberger. He could beat out AJ by next year.

    This is kind of interesting.

Allen should fall. Mayfield could too but... I hear the the Jets like Mayfield (great system fit) and the only issue with Rosen is that he wore an F*** Trump hat while golfing - https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/aug/26/woody-johnson-trump-uk-ambassador-new-york-jets which could be an issue. Which makes me think Rosen may get picked at #2 by the Giants or Bills.

  7. Mayfield or Allen could fall? Just because the world says there are 4 top QBs, does not mean they won't fall a bit. It depends on the Giants and Denver who are trying to win now.

    1- Darnold

    2- Barkley or Chubb

    3- Rosen

    4- Barkley or Chubb

    5- Minkah Fitzpatrick/Quenton Nelson/Josh Allen

6- Not a QB and wants a blue chipper

7- Not a QB and wants a blue chipper

8- Not a QB and wants a blue chipper

    9- Not a QB and needs a 2nd rounder

  8. Josh Allen or Mayfield could fall all the way to 7-9 and we could trade up. It all depends on Denver. Just because analysts say what they think it doesn't mean that 1-2 guys won't drop...

I want to wait until draft day and move to #9 from #22; If we trade #22, #56 and #96 to SF 49ers (they have no 2nd rounder) for pick #9 and their #124.

I would be satisfied with #9 Allen/Mayfield, #12 Roquan Smith or Tremaine Edmunds, then still have picks #53, #65, rounds 4-6. This team is built to win on defense and needs help on the offensive line badly.

  9. I do not believe Cleveland should trade out of #4 and back to #12 when they can get the two highest rated players on their board.

    - If the Bills still had Glenn, because of Thomas retiring, then maybe. #12 +#56 + #65 just give Cleveland way too many picks, so I doubt that.

I would love the move. It would only Take #4 and #22 next and we would have a pick in almost every round still.

    _______________

I still believe that by trading next years #1, this years #12 and #22 will give us #2 overall. I just believe that McBeane would like to either keep #22 this year (to draft a MLB)  or keep #1 next year and the Giants won't budge unless we pay big time.

    or

If we trade #22, #56 and #96 to SF 49ers (they have no 2nd rounder) for pick #9 and their #124.

Then ship #9 and #12 to NY Giants plus a late 2019 pick they may go for it. The Giants could land 2 top 12 picks this year.

The Bills would have 6 picks this year: #2 (Rosen), #53 (MLB), #65 (OG/C/OT), #121 (Nickel Back), #166 (LB), #187 (Special Teams)

    ______________

    Notes:

    - Denver is sitting pretty at 5 and can get a blue chipper and if Allen drops, they will take Elway 2.0.

    - The Colts will get a premium player at 6 and have enough to even move back into round 1. One of the 3 picks they covet will be there and they own round 2.

Pretty hard to get to two now. But if the Bills want to move up we can offer NY something no one else can----LeSean McCoy, one of the best running backs in the league. Would the Giants accept & would the Bills part with the picks & our best player ?

McCoy is probably worth a 3rd or 4th because of age, but if they truly want to win now. He is definitely another asset. His leadership would be a major loss to the Bills. I am mentally exhausted and can't imagine how Beane figures out this mess. If we trade up again a few slots then we can make something happen.

I think that is where we need to be to get NYG to trade with us...Also where did you hear this rumor?

I have read about several articles that say Rosen and Allen over and over. Darnold will go #1, so no reason to talk about him. The guy that does not have to throw at the combine usually goes #1.

Albright has been my primary source and other guys that hear the early word are the ones I trust. Anything I hear after January is usually BS or because of moves made in FA.

    https://buffalofootballbeat.com/2018/03/14/smokescreen-or-interest-report-indicates-connect-buffalo-bills-to-josh-allen/

Rosen fits the system the best and is a win now guy, but his injury history to me puts him almost at the same level as Allen. I do believe Rosen and his efficiency are the match, however Beane probably knows who the Giants are targeting already and the cost to get to #2. IF, the Giants are taking a QB, then we are screwed anyways, but word has it that NYG have to win now and they still have time to develop another guy or wait another 2 years to grab someone. The words that the Giants GM have said are, we will take a gold jacket guy at #2 or move down. There are 2 gold jacket guys in the LG and RB. I almost cannot imagine them passing on the running back which is good news for us. I think that may open the door for the #4 pick. The Jets want Rosen. He is more of a sure thing than all of the top 4 QBs. He fits their system.

Allen will NOT pass pick #5, because Elway sees himself on roids. I just think Denver is best off staying put, because they can get a sure blue chipper on defense or possibly the LG.

I believe that if Rosen is there at 4 they would freak out, because he is the guy, however Allen could be a bust, so more risk and they may sit and let him drop. Denver could move up one slot and get him at 4 which means that Mayfield could be the guy too. Mayfield is a winner, but his size will definitely make him drop. IF Miami or AZ want Mayfield, then we will have competition.

The Bills have to be realistic and if Allen falls out of the top 3, then Allen has to be the guy over Mayfield (attitude and size does not match McBeane). I think Mayfield is going to be a better Chad Pennington, Rosen is polished enough to win in the playoffs early. he is also the smartest when it comes to learning a playbook. They would have taken Rosen at 3, but they did have a top 6 pick to move up, so the Colts could still get one of their top 3 players. Allen will take more time, but that is OK. His arm is sick and he proved at the combine that he can deliver all of the throws. Say what you want but that dude looked the best at the combine to me and he had a weak receiving core who dropped a lot of balls.

The deep ball is a bonus and will work as we will be run first with play-action. Plus the plays are simplistic and not like the west coast with a ton of verbiage. Allen will be able to take a hit and Rosen is more fragile. McBean said that they want players that are available 99% of the time. Rosen will need a superior offensive line and does not move well in the pocket. Allen is creative and can sprint.

Allen scares the Sh*T out of me, but I would take the chance. He is a more humble less polished Jim Kelly. He also isn't another LA dude that doesn't know weather.

    The Bills Board at QB

Darnold has to be the Browns guy

    Rosen (#2-#3)

    Allen (#2-#5)

Mayfield (#5-11) if the Jets want him at 3 I would not shocked

    Lamar (top of round 2)

    White (round 3-4)

    ....

If you believe the the Giants will trade with us, then we will move up and trade with the SF 49ers before the draft before we trade with NY. I would also suspect the Giants will want our 2019 1st round pick to sweeten the deal. McBean need to keep at least 5-6 picks this year. Cleveland to me may be the team we trade with, unless Rosen is just so the guy that we do not want the Jets to take him.

McD believes they can win with defense and a great offensive line, so do not be surprised if we move to 9 and take the best player available. We can live one more year and trade the house next year for a QB if the cost is ridiculous.

Will I lose sleep, because I am sick of the BS. HELL YES!!!! I want a friggin QB.

    3 hours ago, YoloinOhio said:

No one knows that. Also, every team has a plan A and plan b. So it depends how close A and B are. As someone suggested, the only way this trade make sense for the jets to give up 3 2nd rd picks to move up only 3 spots, and only guarantee them the 3rd QB off the board, is if they love 3 of the QBs close to the same way and there is a big gap after that. They gave up way too much if not, and should have stayed at 6

For the Browns, it is rumored that they have Darnold and then (big gap) Mayfield. So if that is the case, QB plan A and B aren’t close and they need to take Darnold 1st, not wait to take Mayfield later.

I completely agree. The Browns are changing the franchise.

Here's a reality check:  forgetabout trading up.  Not gonna happen.  If GM didn't want to outbid Jets for #3, why would he go all in for #1 or #2.  I think he got to #12 so that he can leap frog Miami with Oakland to get whoever is left.

I have been hearing a rumor that we may stay put unless Josh Allen drops to #4 and Cleveland is willing to trade with us. I am not sure we can get Cleveland to budge though unless we move up again between slots 6-9.

  13. I have been also interested in the idea of trading our #22, #56 and #65 to get the SF pick at #9. Imagine Roquan Smith and Mayfield/Allen in the top 12. We would still have another 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 2x 5ths and a 6th. I could live with that.

    3 minutes ago, BillsFan4 said:

Well said. Agreed. And while I think we are missing many pieces to be a truly great team, QB is by far the biggest hole and it has been since Jim Kelly retired (man, I miss watching the K gun offense!). We are FAR past our time to see another great QB in a Bills uniform, and the thought of having to potentially wait even longer sucks.

To to be honest, like many others, I really had my heart set on getting one of the top 2 QBs this year. I still hope it's possible but it's probably less likely with the ridiculous price it took NY to get from 6 to 3.

But what hat gives me hope is that the strength of this QB draft has always been in its depth.

The top 3/4 look great but none are what you call "can't miss" types.

Granted, i'd rather take the gamble on one of the top 2. But there's definitely a chance, especially this year, that QB 4-6 could end up being one of the top QBs in this draft.

The good part - if you spend 1 pick on one of these other QBs and miss, it's sets the franchise back WAY less than if you spend an entire draft + more on trading up and miss on that QB. Ans Id you only spend 1 (or maybe 2 with a slight trade up) pick on QB, you can hopefully fill 4-5 other BIG holes on this team (like our LBs, O line, D line, Wide receivers, RB etc etc).

Who knows? Lamar in 2-3 years could be pretty good. I have my doubts cuz he is a wild card. If Watson can do what he did, then yah never know. Just stay away from Rudolph. He is my EJ again. I would trade both #2s and a 4th to grab him at the top of the first round just for the gamble. I think he could beat out AJ before the end of the season just because he is electric.

  14. 1 minute ago, BillsFan4 said:

You are forgetting that if we don't trade up we have 5 picks in the top 65 and 6 in top top 90 to fill a bunch of holes on this team.

If they hit on this draft like they did last year's, that could fill a lot of holes quite solidly.

Also, AJ McCarron has a pretty low turnover rate in his career, too. He threw 5, 3 and 7 int's in his 3 respective college seasons, and 2 int's in pass 133 attempts in the NFL (which is obviously a very small sample size).

For comparison, Tyrod threw 2 int's in 35 attempts in his Baltimore career before coming to Buffalo. And Tyrod threw a very similar amount of int's per season in college (3, 7, 5, 5)

All I am saying is that it is not out of the realm of possibilities that we plug a bunch of holes in the draft, giving us a stronger overall team than last year, and McCarron, who was a much more accomplished college QB than Tyrod, was drafted in a similar spot (AJ in the 5th vs Tyrod in the 6th), and sat on the bench learning for the same 4 years TT did, could come in and play as well as Tyrod did here. Or maybe even better, especially as far as the passing game is concerned.

I cannot argue with you. It is completely possible. I do believe that this staff can develop CB, LB and offensive line. I would be ecstatic if we grabbed 2 awesome linebackers and a great center or guard. I could see 4 starters and would be satisfied. If AJ is a bust and I am concerned because he could not beat out Andy Dalton that it will be a surprise. We also do not know if a QB will drop past Denver and we may have a shot at Allen or Mayfield. I just really wanted a QB drafted in the top 10. I have been waiting for my whole life. I have been to every playoff game in the 90's and a Superbowl. I want to be patient and believe, but somehow we just do not get better than average. The AFC is very week in comparison to the NFC this year. There is a chance and I love the GM and Coach so far. QB is just the missing piece to be a top 6 team and contend. Jacksonville is the only team I see that could win because they remind me of the Baltimore team that won it. I would be OK with that. Truthfully I would like 3 first round picks this year. I would trade our second rounders and a late 3rd to get into the first again, so we can sign guys for 4-5 years. I would be stoked with picks #12, #22, #27, #65 and a few late picks to try and get 4 solid starters. I want to be fierce on defense, but build the offensive line at the same time. I can live with games that are all close. I am ultra competitive. I am a coach and I push my kids to win but I am good with losing once in a wile if they work hard. Chemistry and a good strategic philosophy can work. The Bills are a project team and are showing signs again. No impulsive choices could bring us back to win the AFC East again, but an efficient QB will be essential. Build the front 7 and the offensive line and maybe a QB will rise like Brady, Brees and Montana. I am a bit pessimistic but who could blame me!

There is absolutely no reason to think that is gonna be a top 10 pick.

I feel like we took a step back and not forward. I doubt that we can win more than 8 games. The defensive line is much improved. If we do not draft a QB we could land a premier LB. I just see problems all over the offense. If I were the Giants I would bet that the Bills end up winning 4-8 games next year. 8 if AJ is amazing. A rookie QB is not going to win games, but we would finally have one. I'll raise it to a top 15 pick. Why do you see the playoffs again? I suppose if we stayed at #12 and drafted best player available and traded for Nick Foles with 2019 picks we could repeat 9-7 for the season, but I hate that idea.

With Tyrod throwing only 4 picks. Look at next years schedule and our QB/Offensive line. We over achieved talent wise for sure. Name a receiver that will catch 65 balls and look at the center to the right side of our line. Who are our line backers? No nickel corner. AJ is unproven.

Miami, Baltimore and the Colts we could beat and every team beyond that is questionable.

Home: Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers
