  1. I was never going to blame McDermott for not picking Mahomes. It was his first time being a Head Coach and I guess he took the safe road and wasn't going to rush into making a big swing. New Head Coach has time to build a team.

It seems obvious now that Mahomes should of been the pick, but if it was so obvious at the time he would of been gone before the Bills got the chance to draft him anyway.

We could never really know how good Mahomes would of been if the Bills selected him. People can say whatever because of what he did in KC but that was a different team at the time.

I didn't care about the Mahomes situation. I cared about the Josh Allen situation. Not picking Mahomes is not as bad as picking Josh Allen and it being a failure. At the moment I feel good about Josh Allen. I don't have to worry about wanting to see the backup QB play in hopes he can be better.

I also think that Josh Allen can do things that maybe Mahomes can't. I dunno if Mahomes can hurdle defenders and make defenders miss like Josh Allen can.

I'm not sure what is meant by off topic post but to me I don't think they should be grouped with off topic behavior.  You would lose a lot of your veteran posters depending on how you define off topic behavior.  You wouldn't want that, after all it's the posters that make the site not the other way around IMO.

If someone could clarify what is meant by off topic that could result in suspension or banning.

Another poster brought up the off topic situation and to be honest I don't actually know the span of what that actually covers.

I can only clarify that I meant people that steer a conversation into the #1 point of the original post. A forum for every topic exists and people can get into deep discussion in those forums meant to discuss those types of topics.

I should of been more specific because conversations happen between posters that know each other, and a conversation  can go off track and it's not something that I think is an off topic type problem.

I am not bothered by some one bringing up chicken wings, recipes, inside jokes between posters. I'm not talking about bringing the hammer down on somebody telling a story from thier life. I could be wrong but I don't think that was ever a thing that was considered a part of the off topic punishments. I enjoy reading people banter.

I was only thinking off topic as hot button subjects that will turn into heated debates and arguments that fill pages that is outside of the realm of football discussion.

Treating off topic responses the harshest seems a bit harsh don't you think? Its to easy for a poster to stray off topic without meaning to disrupt the thread IMO. We could be talking about Oline /thread then have the conversation shift to RB's or WR's. All related in the grand scheme of things.

I mean I get it, don't take over the whole thread with something unrelated, but the waters get a little murky with off topic responses placing an added burden on moderation IMO. Normally posters will acknowlede going off topic with the OP.

    But hey, thats just me

I also think moderation is, and always has been very good here on TBD. Coming from someone who has faced the harshest of punishments.

The more you try to pin down every infraction with an exact measurement of punishment the less flexibilty mod/admin has at keeping the overall peace in the online community in my humble opinion.

I understand your point. I definitely don't want people getting into trouble over bringing up cooking recipes as an  example as something off topic I've seen in the past. Side conversations like that bring a connection between people and I don't think bothers anyone.

I think my thought process is more people dragging the topic out of bounds into the territories the subjects/topics of #1 in the original post and it usually takes two or more people to jump into a heated debate about hot button issues like that.

  4. In my opinion, off topic post/responses and abusive behavior is what I would treat the harshest. I'm not as bothered by a lot of the other stuff listed but that's just me.

I think sometimes you really have to just look at things on a case to case basis and factor in a persons history of behavior.

I can only say that I think moderation is already good.

  5. It could just be a bad habit of the team getting too comfortable when they are destroying another team.

I don't know why but this team this year puts teams away early and let's them claw back into the game.

This game was just about over at halftime before things went haywire.
