Yup, this is the big problem with most women’s sports.  There are simply not enough competitive teams.  College basketball, Olympic hockey, and apparently soccer.

If they were really still doing the big soccer celebrations in a 12-0 game, they are classless twits.

I've seen someone on another board saying Rapinoe was disgusting with her behavior after their 9th goal.

I'll continue to play the villain. I dont want them to win. The women's team has been full of jackasses for years.

They really aren't a likeable bunch.

I was hoping someone would say this, it came up a few days ago. The NBA is a horrible example.

Coaches don’t matter nearly as much as the NFL. The Warriors tried hard instead of going home, the Bruins did the same thing two days ago. I don’t think it was anything beyond both teams giving a professional level of effort.

This is their jobs. Saying the Bills won’t quit isn’t really paying them a compliment.

So the warriors lost the other games just because they didn't try?

Football fans are by far the most condescending. Kawhi might be the best player alive. The warriors have a ton of injuries. The Raptors have been extremely well coached and getting great production out of role players and the bench.

I think a lot more goes into other sports than you care to understand.

I have no problem with it.  If i was in attendance for a potential Sabres cup clinching game, and a star player (who team x is having trouble performing without) goes down... my first reaction is cheering.

Well your name shows you're a clown.

    Hockey fans are Neanderthals.

I'll give you bonus points if you actually know the correct pronunciation of the word.

i don't understand how putatively intelligent people lose it over this, this is no more reality than watching Game of Thrones or listening to the White Album.

lol what are you talking about? I live 30 min away from Toronto

That wasn't what happened at all. Raptors fans are trying to pass that off as an excuse. They were cheering well after the whistle.

  5. 1 minute ago, Boatdrinks said:

If nothing else, those fans got their comeuppance. Their team’s last 3 minutes or so , certainly the last 0:15 were a complete brain fart. Had a great opportunity to close it out and now they’re  headed back to Oakland.

I didn't understand the timeout by Toronto late at all. Nurse has done a good job, but coming off a stop and Kawhi was killing them. He should have let them play.

    But thankfully he bottled it.

May I just respectfully suggest taking a breath and relaxing. I totally get being upset by anyone being happy about an injury like that. That’s some awful behavior by a group of people. I won’t lose my $%&# over it. Disappointing, but not shocking. Great ending. This is the time of year I start watching NBA. Glad I’ll get a little more.

BTW - nothing wrong with a little therapy sometimes. Maybe some people see that as more of a negative than I do.

Guy tore his Achilles. The GM is in tears right now.

But I'm the one off base here. All of you giving a pass on cheering an injury is ***** horrible.

Yea you were a 1000% wrong. The president of basketball operation is in tears talking about maybe a torn achilles.

Cheer on you trash bags in Toronto, and the defenders of that too.

Oh Lordy, I’m kidding about most of this. I’m apparently in the lighter mood. I’m sorry for KD (or anyone) with an injury. I actually feel bad for anyone who cheered that. That’s a sad moment in their lives. But I won’t condemn an entire city of millions for what a few people out of 20k did. Forest. Trees. Perspective.

Perhaps I didnt take it right. It bothered me watching that. I wish I put a ton of money on the warriors but I'm as lavar ball would say a small baller.

    I didn't bet the game.

We can go back and forth with this crap all day.

Look, there is ZERO excuse for what I understand happened. But it’s a handful of people who should feel guilt. I never got an “I’m better than you” vibe there. And if I did, I’d be disappointed but wouldn’t be venomous about it.

I'm not sure about you're love of a city that cheers players injuries and throws beer on the field when a call doesn't go there way

But to each their own I guess that's your thing.

There is also a mob mentality that is a real thing. People can behave poorly in large agitated groups. Again, anywhere you go. I have never cheered for an injury, and I hope I never will. But I’m not cursing the city of millions in Toronto.

I've been to Toronto enough. It's trash.

They think they're NYC, London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Madrid, Berlin.

They're not. They're trash. This is totally unsurprising that Toronto fans would be the ones to do this.

Was it them vs the Rangers where they chucked beers all over the field in the dome?

I've been there dozens of times.

It's a crap city with crap people.

On the behalf of a few knuckleheads. It’s NOT a reflection on the entire city of many millions. I’d hate to be judged by a handful of clowns at a Bills tailgate.

This isn't about Bills fans. And the city is already judged by them. Has the crowd every cheered an injury and chanted na na na goodbye to a player?

I'm pretty critical of our fans.

I'm not sure why the Bills keep coming into this.

That's fun to say now, but if you cheer that you have no clout in hating on gronk for not showing remorse after cheap shotting Tre.

I wouldn't expect much better out of this fanbase though. It's also embarrassing.

No, im definitely more right then you gave me credit for. The "bleep" the network did, was about what Durant yelled at himself for getting injured. Hence the raw emotion they talked about during half time. And we dont know it was 20,000 fans entirely that cheered. But every fan base with so much on the line tonight would have a decent enough of a percentage that would have cheered. It doesnt make it right, but every crowd has a few inconsiderate people in it.

Perhaps you're right there. My issue was more with the suggestion that it wasn't a head or back injury.

A potential Achilles injury is very serious.

I guess I was raised different. You never cheer for a player being injured.

I guess that's ok to some. I'll still judge.

Durant was clearly playing on an unstable foundation and had an impact early.  If Toronto fans rejoice in an injury it's sad.  I've seen it happen elsewhere but if they were singing na na goodbye to an injured player that is looooooow.

I am surprised that a city full of geniuses wearing grammatically incorrect t-shirts could put two and two together enough to figure out that injuries to the other team increased their chances.

But they the north? Lame ass GOT rip off. Just like their idol, guy doesn't even write his own crap music.

And yes they were singing na na na goodbye as he was helped off by a trainer and Iguodala.

There are plenty of #######s wherever I go, lots of nice people too.

I would also venture that a portion of the fans in any building playing the Warriors in the Finals would cheer when Durant left.  The thought that it is a Canadian thing is ridiculous imo

Outside of OKC and maybe Utah that is absolutely not happening.

You never cheer when a player is injured. That's known.

You're 1000% wrong. They were talking about him hurting his Achilles because of it which is a devastating injury.

It's not football. Save the head or paralysis crap for something else. Because you won't have to be in a wheelchair for the rest of your life, or can remember loved ones names doesn't make it ok to cheer an injury.

And the cussing was coming from the fans. I'm sure Durant said something back too.

20,000 people just cheered him getting hurt and were chanting in celebration.

    I love that city

classless reaction by their fans but it doesn’t define the city. There are a lot of fan bases that have and would do the same. Just sports and alcohol and a championship on the line. i wouldn’t do it but I won’t let it change how I view Toronto.

Completely disagree. I've also never really cared for the city or the people I've met from there.

I don't think you can cite many fanbases that would have done the same outside of Philadelphia, and LFC supporters.

  17. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I've tried to give them a pass for Drake.

I've tried to give them a pass for trying to steal the Bills, because what city wouldn't want an NFL team in North America.

I've been there, and maybe that's why I never understood the nice Canadian stereotype. I've been to games at that arena when they weren't good with Bosh on the team. The fans weren't nice, likeable or knowledgeable.

They are a city of bandwagons. I just watched Durant reaggravate his injury in the NBA finals, he was risking an Achilles injury by playing. The crowd erupted at his injury, court side fans were waving goodbye to him.

As he was helped off the court they did the na, na, goodbye chant. And the audio was cut off from fans cussing him out near the tunnel.

I'm not a warriors or Durant fan at all. But what I saw is something that absolutely reflects on that city.

They're trash, they should be embarrassed.

Fans should never cheer when a player gets injured. Save your comments about Brady for someone else. I don't believe the stadium would ever erupt like what I just witnessed.

Embarrassing to humanity to be honest.

Yeah. The Bills shutout at NE may not be the greatest example. Nevertheless, Bill Belichick's career record as HC without Brady is 53-61. That's a pretty large sample size.

Fair point. That's including the Browns which I'm not really knowledgeable enough to give an opinion on. I was too young to remember.

He's also 13-6 as the Pat's coach without Brady. The Bills never beat him with Cassel at QB.

They've both proven to be great as much as I dislike them. I don't think anyone can make a legitimate argument otherwise.

All the stuff with Ciara, posting pics about just having sex...

I think their is a reason most of that defense didn't seem to particularly care for him.

Again, a good QB but he's out there.

This is a QB driven league, so I have no doubt that BB will feel the loss of Brady. We’d start to see the Pats lose to teams with elite QB’s, and superior rosters. This doesn’t take away from the fact that BB is a top notch coach. I can’t envision the Pats continuing to hoist the Lombardy, but I’m confident BB would win games. I could see them becoming a middle of the road team who’s always in the mix.

BB has a long history of success in the NFL. No question he doesn’t win as many titles without Brady, but he still had a track record as a decent coach. I’m not sure where the narrative comes from that BB was a total bum as a football coach before the Pats. I understand his failure with the Browns, but I think he needed to learn the leadership portion of being a head coach. BB has always excelled with the x’s and o’s. The proof is in his two titles as D coordinator with the Giants, and a number one ranked defense with the 94 Browns.

Wasn't Brissett injured almost to the point where he couldn't even throw the ball?

My point was all the fretting over the trade is revisionist history. People who are killing JBotts for the trade now( everywhere, not just in this thread) were praising him in November for getting rid of the room killer.

I know you have not been in this thread, but as anyone on here can tell you, even in mid December i was screaming  there  was a big problem with the Sabres..and it was the coach.

Fair enough, I agree the coach was definitely an issue. I'm just not a fan of giving away talent for what will end up being nothing.

I feel pretty confident about that being the result. None of them will be near what O'Reilly is. One already quit. I'm not an O'Reilly fan either. I'm just a fan of good management and sending a guy out because of that crap he pulled in his last presser for nothing isn't good management.
