I don't know what group you're referring too.  I know your buddy that you quoted in this topic is laughing it up that the Bills sucked today.  Maybe you two can go out and celebrate tonight.

BTW, this isn't playing the victim.  You're happy Petey sucked.  Has nothing to do with me.

I'm definitely not happy we lost, I couldn't help but laugh at the fans predicting 275 yards 3 TDs yada yada yada. Maybe that makes me a bad fan. I knew Peterman wouldn't light it up but i never expected a level of suck to this degree, can't help but laugh at this franchise, what a joke.

Just don't want to miss a solid opportunity to be the sixth seed in a bad AFC.

Well, I think Peterman will open up the playbook, I think our receivers are going to be much more productive, hopefully that opens up running lanes for Shady. It's to early to put to much on Peterman right away, I don't think he will be as productive as Tyrod but at this point we need to see what we got in Peterman because Tyrod is never going to be that guy in Buffalo. It's pretty obvious Tyrod is gone, it makes sense for the future to go with Peterman but I think it hurts our chances this year.

Right-o.  Good veteran OLers are always fighting to come play for the Bills with their 2 winning seasons in the last 17 years, especially for the peanuts that OBD deems OLers are worth.  That's why Vlad Ducasse is the Bills starting RG.

We are talking about OL, not Peyton Manning here, get real.

I don't think it's a bad thing.  He's the captain of the ship so he needs to lead by example.   I mean you see other coaches like Adam Gase or McAdoo express some emotion and it hasn't done anything to make their teams win more.

At some point though, maybe if they get steamrolled again I'd like to see McDermott consider spreading the healthy scratches around.  I don't think any player wants that on his resume,...knowing he was scratched and not dinged up.  I'm sure that stuff gets around league circles in a hurry.  I don't see a fire getting lit under these guys.  After the Jets game i thought they'd come out and be raving lunatics at home.  And they knew the Saints were running and couldn't stop it.  They also could not run or pass.  I'd like to see some urgency.

Always remain calm, throwing a tantrum makes you look like a baby. I've been in some really bad situations in life, being calm, patient and composed and think you're way through it. Sometimes the results aren't pretty but you'll make better decisions that can put you in a better position in the future. McAdoo is a !@#$ing bum, I'd be disappointed if McDermott acted like that.

Never got all the hate for Whaley from a lot of people on his board.  Agree, he had his flaws, but he also had his successes.  Whaley's biggest mistake, IMO, was the QB position; he was basically backed into a corner by Buddy Nix and had to take EJ Manuel who was the best QB in a weak 2013 class.  It was unfortunate that draft was terrible for QBs; next best QB was Geno Smith, so that should say something.  Wish Whaley didn't stick with EJ for as long as he did; it very well may have been his undoing.

Not getting to select his own coach also hurt Whaley.  I suspect had he been able to select his own coach instead of Wrex being forced on him, we probably would have seen the Bills in a playoff game by now.  It seemed that he never had the full authority of a GM, and IMO, got a raw deal from this organization in the end.

This thread will probably go 10+ pages with strong opinions on both sides of the spectrum.  Any Whaley (or Tyrod) thread is guaranteed to do just that.

This is lunacy. If Doug Whaley were here, we'd be in the playoffs by now? Come on. The guy couldn't pick a QB to save his life, we would still be without a QB. How about taking MD99 over AJ Green and JJ Watt? Not a very good GM, we fired him out of mercy, he was stuttering towards the end and couldn't even piece together a sentence without freezing.

Not their job to show us respect.  We should have earned it, but didn't.

Sean Payton is the type of coach I would like to see Sean McDermott become more like: killer instinct, put the pedal to the metal

Honestly, I think Sean Payton squandered much of Drew Brees' career. They may sneak out another Super Bowl this year but I really think Brees is the type of caliber player that he should have at least 2-3 rings, he is that good.

No. I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous.

It's not like Pegula picked McDermott and Beane off the street. They are vetted candidates. Maybe you view the employer/employee relationship differently than I do, but I believe the best thing an employer can do is let people do their job.

What you're suggesting is an owner that micromanages the football operation. Well, we had that with Ralph Wilson. Other comparable owners - Jerry Jones, Dan Snyder. No thanks.

As an owner, Pegula is more similar to Robert Kraft without the results. How much of an "Xs and Os" guy do you think Kraft is? Do you think he's chiming in on Belichick's decisions? Do you think he should have been more hands-on when Belichick decided to keep Drew Bledsoe on the bench (when he returned from injury) in favor of some random sixth-round game manager?

I'm not saying Pegula is perfect --- his record as an owner for the Bills and Sabres speaks for itself. But to think the solution is for him to become MORE involved in the day-to-day operation, I couldn't disagree more.

Last I checked, Jerry Jones and the Cowboys have a couple Super Bowl rings and they're set to go again in the future with Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott. Say what you want about Jones but he knows football, you may not like him as a person or his personality but he is a good owner.

As far as Belichick and Kraft go, do you really believe Terry should treat McDermott the same way as Kraft does with Belichick? That's an asinine statement.

I'd rather have an owner that collectively studies the game so he can grow and hire better personnel in the future, not some guy that sits there idly hoping for the best.
