Well, they could tear it up and give him a new contact for sure if he agrees to that. The re-structure is just one of the options. But if you look at recent RB contracts 12/yr is right around where his value is.

But the 3yr, $36 million contract does exist in the sense that CMC has that to negotiate off of.  And he's likely not getting cut during the season so he is also likely to earn the $12 million so I think you have to guarantee him AT LEAST $12 million in year 1 in terms of bonuses and salary. And he is definitely getting that or more in FA IMO.

If I'm the Bills, I'd be willing to pay extra in draft picks if CAR would take on some of his salary to make the money work.

It's already been said, if we make this trade, we will only be on the hook for $600,000 of his salary this year and only $1 million of the rest of his contract is fully guaranteed. So, for this season anyway, we won't have to pay him much of anything

I get that. But anyone saying they don't wanna give up a 1st has to look at the bigger picture. If it means we're holding up the Lombardi at the end of the season, then make that trade all day long

Someone tweeted at Joe Buscaglia claiming to have a source in the building at OBD that we are going to be making a blockbuster trade sending our 1st for an RB

IF that were true, what do you guys think?

1st, Moss for Saquon Barkley, 4th

    1st, Moss for Christian McCaffrey

my darkhorse would be Dalvin Cook

does anyone know if $ can be retained on a deal? Or how does that work

Where is the tweet? I wanna read it

Is 4 years of that player at a cost controlled price better than 10 games of McCaffrey.

That 2nd round pick may not be better right away, but may have significantly more long term help to maintain the team we have.

10 games? I'm sure if we give up a 2nd, we will find some way to keep him past this season.

In the NFL, the closer to the field you are, the more money you make. Superstar players make way more than coaches. Coaches make more than GM's. It's because they have a more direct impact on wins and losses on a week to week basis, the jobs are more prestigious, and they are more in the public eye.

I would do a 2nd rounder for CMC.

I have said this as well. Our 2nd round pick is gonna be pick 60-64. You would have to guarantee me that any player I take in that area of the draft is better than McCaffrey and if you can't, I'm willing to give that pick up for McCaffrey

  7. I actually have an issue with some of his playcalling. I think he runs on 2nd and long too much forcing us to be in too many 3rd down situations. And the sequence of plays on that game winning drive where he ran Singletary on 2nd and 1 and got stuffed and then pitched it back to Singletary on 3rd and 1 which Singletary missed again made me wanna rip my hair out. It caused us to have a 4th and 1 at our own 35 yard line

You wouldn't know...........you aren't good enough at math to afford it.

You said Devin Singletary is an upgrade over Christian McCaffrey. You have lost all credibility. Singletary clearly is not. Let's get McCaffrey in a Bills jersey and let him do his thing and then I'll come check on you while you're in a deep  depression about how wrong you are

The problem with your argument is that it presumes things that are not so.  McCaffrey is not at his peak.........that was 4 seasons ago.   Statistically, when healthy,  he's a modest upgrade from the more reliably available and motivated Singletary.   CMC has not been a game changer for some time.

I also disagree that they wouldn't feel compelled to give him touches.   He's a big name.   They aren't going to sign OBJ and just keep him on the bench until someone gets hurt either.   You add big name superstars who still think they can play and are playing for new contracts.........as they both will be.........you have to play them.

Yeah he has looked good for almost 5 games - we will see if it lasts.

And even the McCaffrey has been hurt the last 2 years, in the small amount of games he played in. He still looked like 2019 McCaffrey. He is still that same player now and having that same type of impact in that offense. People just want so hard for a McCaffrey trade to not happen for some reason

Is CMC that much better than Devin Singletary? I don't believe so, the gap in talent is so negligible that the draft capital and future salary is not worth the risk. I just don't see the upgrade without even considering CMC's constant injury issues.

You have to be kidding me

you make two points here the first is about his contract is great because only one million guaranteed after this season. Then a sentence later you talk about mccafferey with 4-5 solid years left. So what are you envisioning? Remainder of this season and cut or paying him season by season at a high price tag?

What I'm saying is get him on the team this year for $600,000 and then work out what you need to work out for another few years. Maybe some kind of reworked deal of some kind. But my point wad just get him on the team now, worry about the rest later

Not sure what games you're watching or how much smoke you're  trying to blow here, but you can look at almost any game this year and Edmunds is lined up directly behind the D-line in traditional MLB fashion.  To try and claim this is some weird LB scheme that couldn't be done by anyone else is laughable and demonstrates a clear lack of understand of LB roles and responsibilities.

LMAO, that's like saying if your O-line sucks at pass blocking and your QB is getting hammered, it's not really the line's fault, it's the QB'S fault.  Get a grip.

Dude, if you are trying to say Nick Chubb would be no better than Devin Singletary in our offense you are insane
