  1. I actually just mentioned this to my friend yesterday and I'm not even joking. I told him that Barkley is 24, gonna be 25 in February. The Giants have to start over. Daniel Jones is a bust and they need to draft a new QB. The whole team is a mess and it honestly doesn't make sense for the Giants to hold Barkley hostage through his remaining good seasons he has left. Because of Barkley's injury history, I don't think any team would give up a first but I would give up a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him. They will both be late picks in those rounds. Despite the injuries, I would call them and see what it would take

That Pats/Colts game really should tell us our best shot at seeding. Pats win and our only hope is to win out and hope the Dolphins beat the Pats again in the final week.

Colts win and we control our own destiny to the AFCE title.  I'm pulling for the Colts here since division is still in play and I feel like the Bills stand a great shot at winning out.

We don't have to win out if the Patriots win tonight

I know there are a lot of knee-jerk reactions after loses, but I have been surprised at how many posters are so down on Beane and McDermott, some even suggesting we need to get rid of them.

I get it, the loss to New England, which not only put the Pats in first place for the division, but also in the conference, opened up some very old and deep wounds. Seeing Belichick smile after a win in our house sucked...but it also shows you what he thinks of the current Bills (the hoodie almost never smiles---even after wins, except maybe Super Bowl victories).

So, I think we all need a little perspective. First of all, as bad as some aspects of our team is right now (rushing/stopping the run), we are only 4-5 plays away from being 11-1. Take away the blocked punt against the Steelers, if Josh made the 4th down against the Titans, and any one or two plays going our way against the Pats and Jags, and we win all of those games. The margin between the best record in the league and a good/ok record in the NFL is razor thin. Those loses all count, they all matter, but we are not as bad as some are making us out to be. Do we have flaws and warts, players that we need to move on from next year, etc? Of course, almost every team does, but we are still a very good team with a lot of talent.

I do expect that we will still make the playoffs this year (whatever seed). That would be 4 out of 5 years of making the playoffs in the McBeane era...after 17 years of no playoffs. The record/win percentage over the last 5 years under McBeane is 45-31 or almost 60% win percentage (59.2% to be precise). And that of course includes 2018 which was an obvious rebuild year where we were depleted of talent (to fix the cap). In the 5 years prior to McBeane, our record was 36-44 (45% win percentage). In the 17 years of the drought, the Bills' win percentage was 41%. McDermott already has the third best win percentage of all Buffalo Bills coaches (behind only Marv and Wade). And Wade only coached three years and lost both of his playoff appearances. McDermott's two playoff wins are the only playoff wins since December 30th, 1995 (26 years ago).

This team has fun, exciting players. Great personalities. They are good people, with great work ethics, who like being in Buffalo, and play hard for each other and the fans. A true team with players I enjoy rooting for. There is no way in hell that I would blow things up or get rid of Beane and/or McDermott any time soon. Is there still work to do? Obviously. But in over 60 years of Buffalo Bills football, this is the best we've had it outside of the 4-year AFL run and the 8- to 9-year run in the 90s.

Have we already forgotten what New Year's Eve 2017 felt like? That was one of the most emotionally-impactful moments in Bills history, and one of the best New Year's Eves I've ever had (thank you Sean McDermott). Have we forgotten what it is like to have incompetency in the front office? Have we forgotten that they have brought us our first franchise QB in 25 years?

There are still 5 games left to right the ship, get into the playoffs, and possibly make a run. In the playoffs, everyone starts 0-0.

But even if that doesn't happen, I will be backing Beane and Mcdermott.

In that worst-case scenario (missing the playoffs or a quick exit), maybe it would be like the 90s team.  In 1988, they had a great record (12-4; a lot of close wins) and went to the AFC Championship game where they were disappointed by the Bengals. In '99, they took a step back with a 9-7 record and a divisional playoff loss to the Browns. Then they went on the run of 4 Super Bowl appearances. Let's not try to kill the momentum that is building. Most success stories are not a straight line up to the top. There are always a few setbacks or apparent regressions along the way---two steps forward, one step back.

Now, I'm definitely not putting this season to bed...they can still turn it around and make a run (there are no dominant teams in the AFC this year---once in the playoffs, every game will be up for grabs). But ultimately, maybe this team just needs one more season of acquisitions and seasoning/experience to be true, perennial Super Bowl contenders. I don't know about you all, but I want to stick to the process. We're so close.

    Go Bills!!!!

I would have hated seeing this board if it existed during the super bowl years. One blow out loss "this is not a super bowl team". If we had a bad first half "Levy is gotta go" lol. There's no reason to be down on this regime

We saw in the Bills Embedded video we were trying to move up in the first. We'll probably never know who it was for and that's probably for the best. If Beane was trying to trade up for a RB I'd rather not know about it.

Even after what we have experienced in our run game this year? I don't know who the top RBs are coming out next year and typically I wouldn't trade up for one either but next year I wouldn't be opposed to grabbing the top guy if it means a trade up but only if we're talking like a Saquon, Elliot or McCaffery type player. Not sure there's a RB in next year's draft like that or not

Ask him to be a super star is fine. And he is. Ask him to win each game on his own is not realistic. Your anti Josh sh1t is getting old. Go root for the Pats*  jagoff

Why are some of you so scared of the Pats*? They’re not that good. Buffalo should’ve beaten them last week if not not for poor coaching and dropped balls. Bills will beat them in foxborough. Watch and see. They’re an average team at a best that’s on a roll.

I'm not scared of the Pats, it's just now with the Pats being relevant again, I'm more scared of the refs screwing us on calls to kill our chances. I hate to blame the refs and a lot of times I don't but the Patriots are the one team since Belichick has been there except maybe last year with Brady gone that we have had some extremely terrible calls against us when we play them. I just see the same crap happening

  6. 1 hour ago, HamptonBillsfan said:

You actually think we could ever get a call to determine the outcome of a game against Brady on the road. That ref just stared at Diggs getting interfered with and did nothing.

I'm just saying that if it was called, there's no way we don't get it in from the 1 yard line with :28 left

Tell us all real quick, how many people remember the teams that don’t win the Super Bowl as winners.

3 OUT OF 4 YEARS OF PLAYOFFS AFTER 17 YEARS OF NO PLAYOFFS. is what we're watching right now pretty? No. But I would take McDermott over Williams, Mularky, Jauron, Gailey, Marrone and Ryan any day and if you wouldn't, then you're insane

Im not done with him yet but I am getting there.  Cant get his team to play.  Makes bad coaching decisions on and off the field.  Marvin Lewis went to the playoffs every year.  How did that work out for them.

Marvin Lewis went to the playoffs 7 out of 16 seasons, not every year and was 0-7. McDermott has 2 playoff wins. Nice try with your comparison. You get an A for effort

Fire McDermott. He's completely lost me this game.

    I can't believe what I just saw.

Yea, take the ball out of the hands of one of the best QBs in the NFL, when you need TWO ****ING YARDS, to run a fake punt.

    I'm done with him.

What is wrong with you people? You're done with a coach that took us to the playoffs 3 out of 4 years after 17 years of no playoffs, including a championship game and you and all these other people wanna fire him after ONE mediocre season? It happens. Teams do it all the time. Who would you replace him with, genius?

There was absolutely no reason that the Bills should have lost this game! For this reason, the Pegula’s need to clean out some of the coaching leadership.

The odds of screwing up so many times in a row in a game is probably a million to one. That comes down to poor coaching and players not executing. When players screw up and coaches can not adjust, then this means that McDermott’s coaching ceiling has already been reached. He and his staff are average despite the team’s history

Great Coach gets 10-14 points in the situation below.  Good coach gets 6 to 7 points. Replaceable coach gets 0-3 points.

2x’s in the last 6 minutes the Patriots gift wrapped two very doable red zone touchdown opportunities. And, Allen gets sacked, an idiot TE false start, a missed field goal, and passing the ball when running could have led to more manageable play calling rather than 3rd and long and 4th and 14 situations.

    No adjustments…means no Confidence!

The team lost at home with the best fans, better receivers, and quarterback, unbelievable opportunities to win, and the defense knowing in advance that 95% of the team’s plays would be runs. Mac Jones may have set a record in the last 40 years with 19 pass yards! In other words, our defensive line knew what was coming and the Hoodie decided to be completely one dimensional knowing the Bills could do nothing about it!!!

    Winning Culture

Yes, there was wind and stats were not going to be as big tonight. The Bills had every reason to win and own the division. It was blanking Monday Night Football. The team had this game circled all season. No amount of clapping, rah rah, or “process” makes up for fumbling the game away.

Bad coaching, players aren’t executing, and we can’t build our offense or defense with underwhelming line play, time management issues, and not getting the ball from a 30 million dollar QB not getting the ball to Diggs or a line not capable of digging in and getting 10 yards on the ground with some old-fashion tough running.

    Ceiling has been reached..new voices

A weaker AFC, Derrick Henry going down, the Chiefs inconsistencies and Ravens, and the inability to beat playoff caliber teams, execute at key times, and the lack of consistency on the lines means this is McDermott’s ceiling.

Time for Bills to make big changes!

I agree. The guy who turned this franchise around after nearly 2 decades of being irrelevant and missing the playoffs takes us to the playoffs 3 of his 4 years, including a championship game, and you want him gone after a mediocre season that happens to teams every once in a while? Let me ask you, after what we dealt with through the drought, who would you replace him with?

  11. Don't worry, it's a repeat of 89

88' We make the Championship game and lose to the Bengals after a 12-4 season

89' We take a big step and have a disappointing season at 9-7 but we made the playoffs and lost our first game to the Browns

We obviously know what happened the next 4 years. This is just a repeat.

Last year we make the Championship game and lose to the Chiefs after a 13-3 season

This year we will squeak into the playoffs and lose in the first round

But......but......starting next season we will dominate all the way to the next 4 Super Bowls but won't lose them all, baby. Everything is gonna be alright

    Totally, the wrong call!

We ain’t in 1960 anymore! Get an even bigger, faster WR or TE or both. The idea is not to slow Allen down with running trash when he’s putting up 30-40 passes.

RBs are for screens and none of these has been worth a damn! Let alone, a Draft pick.

I have thought this for many years but I don't care anymore. If there is a really good back there when we pick, go get him. If we need to trade up for one, go get him. I can't take this running game anymore. It's killing us

  13. 2 minutes ago, Generic_Bills_Fan said:

I honestly again think we tried to run the ball too much lol they did not trust Allen to throw the ball into the wind until we were forced to. It’s just throwing downs away at this point

Still think that final red zone 1st down run was to control the clock and it went bad

Yeah, I thought the same but we were moving the ball threw the air. I think it's more Zack Moss is an issue. Just cut him. Even though Singletary isn't great, you can tell he runs harder. I've always gotten the impression with Moss that he juat doesn't care. That's what it feels like every time I see him run. Singletary might only get 4 yards but he'll drag tacklers for a few yards. Moss just kinda runs into a lineman and goes down
