  1. Great question OP. Philly fired Reid because he couldn't win a SB. Last February Eagles fans watched as their former 'can't win the big one' coach outcoached them to win the big one. McDermott isn't the problem. No one is perfect yet everyone working in the Bills organisation has a role to play and must perform at a high level if we are to win a Lombardi Trophy. There are 31 other teams after the same prize. I think that if Josh can drop his fumbles and picks by 75%, that would do more than firing a great HC. Maybe guys like Gabe, Kaiir, Brown, Oliver and McGovern will have breakout years. That might do the trick. Maybe the injury bug will go easier on us than it did last year. Maybe our scouts helped Beane put together a great draft and this year's rookie class will be great. I just don't see McDermott as the problem.

  2. Bottom line: If Diggs goes down, we're in really bad shape. Hopefully Gabe has a good year, but none of the other WR's on this roster are starting caliber. We'd be playing with a bunch of backups. That won't work if we're trying to win a SB. As it stands now, other teams will still double up on Diggs all day and we currently have no answer. We need DHop or a trade for a good WR.

  3. We see an article about a player with a big head shooting his mouth off or getting in trouble and we forget all the dumb stuff we did at that age. Maybe we think that many professional athletes are spoiled, but the truth is that most of them are high character guys who worked hard to get where they are. It's probably not as difficult as you might think to find guys that fit our culture and want to come here because they've heard about it.

Mike Evans isn't available for Trade. It's always just speculation by media members for WR needy teams. Which we are not. If we were, we'd be offering Hopkins whatever it took.

Between the additions of Kincaid (as much a TE as Von is a LB), Harty, Sherfield, and Shorter and what we already had in Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, and Khalil Shakir - WR is only a "need" for fans who feel Gabe Davis shouldn't be on the team and require a depth chart filled with "I've heard of 'em!" players to be satisfied.

Whether or not anyone feels comfortable with how the position has been addressed - Beane does and none of those guys are going anywhere.

I have to disagree with you on one point. After Diggs, the talent level in our WR room takes a HUGE drop. If Diggs were to go down, other teams would find far more success shutting us down. We are a WR needy team for sure.

This is a good signing. We have three non-mobile quarterbacks in our division which we face 2 times each during the year. Floyd on one side and Von on the other? Good luck!
    -------
Rousseau is already a significantlybetter LDE than Floyd, but Floyd is a better edge rusher. I don't see Floyd taking many snaps away from Rousseau.

  6. And Von is returning and several columnists and former players have Rousseau tagged for another big jump in 2023... Von, Gregory, Leonard, Boogie, AJE, Shaq. That's pretty impressive. They aren't all superstars, but there are no slouches in this group.

Also, I don't think Basham is the odd man out. Personally I think he has the edge over Epenesa. Has the edge. Get it? OK bad joke. Sorry.
Now for Brown, Davis, Williams (or Bernard) and Shakir to have big seasons and we literally are average or better at every position.

  7. The more I think about it, the more I realize that we need to make this move if we're serious about winning the SB this year. Right now if Diggs goes down, our WR corps is as weak as any in the NFL. Even if Diggs is healthy, defenses will gang up on him to take him out. With Hopkins, they can't overcommit to either of our outside WR's and we have no one behind Diggs that defenses really need to worry about. Our TE's are good, but they won't be forcing the Safeties to play back. I know DHop isn't fast either, but he never was and look how successful he's been.

I was undecided at first, but as soon as I asked myself 'What if Diggs has to sit out a few games and can only get back to 90% this year?' I realized that we really need DHop. We'd still be a good team without him, but a SB would be out of the question.

  8. Spot on IMO. I do think our OL can be better, but they'll have to prove it. I'm excited for Torrence's potential. McGovern, not so much. My hope is that Edwards will return to pre-injury form and unseat McGovern. He was slightly above average in LA at one point.McGovern only got a starting job last year and Dallas let him walk because he was subpar. The Bills are gambling that McGovern and Brown can develop into decent OL. Otherwise they look to become career backups.

  9. Florio says the Chiefs have traded for him. Translation: We need to pay up and sign Hopkins if we're committed to winning the SB. I know we'll have to pay for it in the future, but do you want the Lombardi Trophy or not? The ante has just been raised. Are we in or are we going to fold?

  10. What's this nonsense about not being able to play video games past age 13? I'm 67. I have lots of grandchildren and I play with them whenever I can. My wife likes video games too. I also love to read and don't watch TV. Don't like my choices? Too bad.

The Chinese Communist Party limits game time because they don't like games either. Maybe you should move there. Just don't criticise the CCP or you'll go to prison.

Mahomes & Brady were the cover athletes for Madden in 2022. Nothing bad happened to them!

And nothing bad happened to the 2023 cover guy, as he was.... well, not alive 🤔

This is silly. How is there "serious hate" and how is 93 overall "somewhat low?" 🤣

That leaves only Mahomes & Burrow ahead of him, which is pretty much how most people see it. If we weren't Bills fans, some people would say he's too high. Jalen Hurts is an 89, ranked below Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson & Justin Herbert. If they rated him any higher, there'd be people raging about how overrated EA has him (which some already do).

I don't care about his awareness rating though. He does fumble more than other QB's, and he LEAD THE LEAGUE in turnovers last year for all QB's... He's still a 93 overall! That's not "serious hate" by any metric.

Read my post more closely. Better yet, put he game in spectator mode and use the CPU Skill slider "SIMSLIDERS". Set the game settings to 15 minute quarters and the play countdown to 13 seconds. You'll see what I mean. He's an absolute horror show. My son won't even play Madden any more online because of the absurd fumble rate. Yes he fumbles too much, but 4 or more times per game? For example, Kyler Murray ran 4 times fewer than Allen in 2022, but fumbled almost twice as much. His "Carrying" rating (A player's ability to avoid fumbles) was something like 12 to 16 points higher than Allen's. Clearly that's bias at work.

He’s literally one of the most over powered players in the game when controlled by a human

True, if you always slide or go out of bounds when you run with him. Plus, when controlled by you, that automatically overrides several of his triggers that make him cost the team wins.
