BTW, DHop ran a 4.57s 40 at the combine. TO ran a 4.65. Best ball skills in the draft. I'll compare him to KB if and when he fails. Until then I'll give him a chance to work on his route running. He's 20 and lacking in experience. I see a lot of room for growth.

We drafted a few OL in later rounds, but this was a deep draft for OL talent. What does the future look like? Will our OL be better than ever? They looked good last year, but not great. I think Josh's mobility made them look much better like when Flutie played vs Rob Johnson the sack magnet. Will we run a little more perhaps?
What's your prediction a couple years out?

He has very long arms and already has a solid repetoire of moves. I suspect he'll get a pretty fair number of snaps. Beane says if he was 2" taller, he'd have been long gone. Those who think this team won't keep any of their day 3 picks are mistaken. They really wana chance to coach these guys up and see what their ceiling is. At least that'smy impression. The new coaches will have to prove themselves.

Amazing value for the 5th round. I think he'll be a solid starter fairly soon. Good athlete. I guess this draft was even deeper than I thought in OL.

Great hands and work ethic. Good athleticism. Needs work on route running. Age 20. To me it comes down to coaching up his routes and at his age with his athleticism I think he has to some improvement. It seems inevitable.

Just Beane doing due diligence. He needs to begin exploring options now. Day 1 of the draft is too late to start. He might make a deal before the draft if a great deal comes along.

Can we have an tirely new uni/helmet?/color scheme. I'd like very dark brown, almost black with some pastel beige and the trim/buffalo head in bright shiny copper.

No. We need a WR1, not a WR2. Diggs has 1 foot out the door. Wether it's dissatisfaction or age that gets him, now is the time to ensure that Josh has an elite #1. We're going to try to draft that guy and he may need time to get ready for his new role.
I still like Samuel and I like this signing. I wanted us to sign him a couple years ago. If our WR group gets hit by injuries, we're going to be glad we signed him.

These were 2 great players. They've nothing left to play for but pride. Too bad the Bolts have been such underachievers. I wonder about price and their condition, but perhaps an interesting option.

Run Stuffing DT's are still relevant. If we're behind and the opponent is trying to run out the clock, they are very relevant.

We would be SB champs right now if the injury bug had gone easier on us this year. Especially on our best defensive players. Last year too.
One way to try to reduce injuries is to get players with less injury history, like younger players.

Minus a couple all-pros on defense out for the year and Von being a nonfiction and Jones'absence and we'd have a chance. I think 3 or 4 wins is more realistic and a long playoff run is out of the question. I'm ready to start looking at Gabe's replacement in the next draft.
As far as McDermott goes, they said much the same about Andt Reid in Philly. He may have his shortcomings, but so does Bellechick and he's won 6 SB's. I'm not ready to give up on him yet.

If we start firing coaches, we look like an organization in disarray rather than a popular destination. We shouldn't have let our QB choose our OC. I'm sure they're real chummy, but Dorsey isn't ready to be an OC.

Thete are basic physical requirements for arm strength and accuracy, but the ability to see a lot and make quick decisions is crucial. Unfortunately, that's Josh's weakness. His athleticism is off the charts though.

Our window isn't closing. We need to re-arm. As long as we have Josh, we aren't out of it. That said, this isn't our year. We are good enough. We need to get healthy and add at least 2 more elite players at positions of impact. Also, a HC is only as good as his starting QB. Of Josh keeps turning the ball over at a league leading pace, nothing McDermott does will matter anyway. Too many coaches ended their careers by not having the nerve to pull the switch on a QB that was almost good enough.

Dorsey, absolutely. I can't agree with McDermott, though. How many injuries does he have to overcome before people realize that our defensive problems are not on him. I don't know about firing Dotsey during the season. We have no one to replace him. This isn't our year anyway.

Very good CB. Just for reference, his overall rating in Madden 24 is 85. Fans in Green Bay and Milwaukee are hating this trade, so that should tell you something. If he can give us a couple healthy years, along with the Fournette signing, that's a solid move by Beane. I'm sorry we didn't shore up LB, but we're still set up well for the future with Milano, Bernard and Williams who I think has high upside.

I don't know if he can still play or what his price is, but I'm intrigued. I'd say he's worth a look.

The Bills are reloading the roster. I'd be amazed if Pegula did something so incredibly dumb. They said all this same nonsense about Andy Reid in Philadelphia. I'm sure TP knew the plan and supported it. Do you really think he'd go back on his word? No good HC or GM would ever want to work for him again.
Besides, the REAL reason we didn't win the SB this year was injuries. McDermott deserves praise for what he was able to do. Give him a healthy D without losing his best pass rusher (Von), run stuffer (Jones), CB (White) and LB (Milano). Let KC deal with that extreme level of injuries and then let's see who the better team is.
