The fact is that Edelman is out for 4 games this year and Foster is out for 2. Edelman is a worse offender.

“Given that CB1 receptors are densely located in the prefrontal cortex, cingulate gyrus, and basal ganglia (Eggan & Lewis, 2006), deficits in executive functions may persist long after use. Our findings pertaining to executive dysfunction are consistent with other studies (Bolla, Elderth, Matochik, and Cadet, 2005; Crean, Crane, and Mason (2011); Ramaekers, Kauert, van Ruitenbeek, Theunissen, Schneider & Moeller (2006), suggesting that the long-term implications of impaired executive functions could result in problems with decision-making, impulsivity, and poor judgment.” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4032061/#!po=43.9655 So you think that PED use is good for the sport and should be allowed? Just at the pro level, or college and HS levels too? How about elementary school? As far as the DV charges against Foster, they were dropped because the alleged victim admitted that she lied and produced video evidence that her injuries were sustained in a fight with one or more women. If Edelman tests positive again he will be suspended for 10 regular and/or post season games. He’s a higher risk player than Foster.
-
Haha, Coach Saban tells it like it is.
-
You have quite a cavalier attitude towards drug use. Marijuana causes mental impairment which persists since it is fat soluble and is slowly released into the system over time. PED use gives players an unfair advantage over players who don’t use PEDs. Edelman was given a stiffer penalty than Foster because his behavior was more egregiuos.

I suspect that people here who bash Alabama have never stepped foot on campus, have never spoken with a professor or an administrator, have no knowledge of the generous guaranteed merit scholarships, do not know any students or graduates, and are not aware of the close knitness of the Alabama parent and alumni community. People are passionate about the school because it’s a great place. Anyone that smokes dope is using bad judgement. That’s why it’s called dope. No one has said that he dodn’t use bad judgment. He’s also a 22 - 23 yr old kid. Most kids have made bad decisions. You are condemning him to a failed life because he smoked pot and chose a bad girlfriend? Seriously? And how do you know when Edelman started taking PEDs? Maybe it’s been a long time and he never got caught. Edelman gets the benefit of the doubt but Foster doesn’t? Why is that? Foster was drafted in the first round. Not bad coming off a serious shoulder injury.
-
Which is worse, a 4 game suspension or a 2 game suspension? Which is worse, PEDs or pot? On what basis should NFL teams have known that Foster would get involved with a crazy woman? What is it exactly about Foster that has you so worked up? I think there are folks to get more upset about than Foster, like Ivy League MBA’s that caused the 2007 - 2008 financial crisis and avoided punishment, for example.
-
I'll take that like water off a duck's back... Not sure about 89%, but I'm sure that a lot of NFL players smoke pot. Foster happened to caught. As far as the argument with the student hospital worker, I wasn't there. Does Foster need to drop the pot habit and mature? Sure, but that can be said for a lot of young men. He just turned 24. Edelman was suspended for 4 games. Did you have him pegged as a suspension risk?

The University of Alabama isn't the anything of anything. it stands on it's own merit. Curious what makes you an expert on Nick Saban, the Alabama football program, and the academics at UA, other than you can Google US News & World Report rankings.
-
I defended Foster against the scurrilous attacks against his character and the DMV claims, which proved to be false as I predicted. I am not going to judge Foster's character because I don't know him. There isn't enough information that is publicly available for me to make that judgement. 56 players were suspended by the NFL in 2017 - 2018. Do you have a crystal ball that enables you to predict who is going to be suspended and who isn't? If you do, you should share it with NFL teams.
-
The fact that you treat the US News & World Report rankings as Gospel demonstrates that you aren't serious. Stanford players don't get in trouble? Hmm. https://www.mercurynews.com/2017/02/19/former-nfl-player-arrested-in-oregon-naked/ https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/29/sports/football/stanford-football-rape-accusation.html https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012/02/06/stanford-football-star-arrested/ https://stanforddailyarchive.com/cgi-bin/stanford?a=d&d=stanford20040430-01.2.43&e=-------en-20--1--txt-txIN------- https://stanforddailyarchive.com/cgi-bin/stanford?a=d&d=stanford19860106-01.2.4&e=-------en-20--1--txt-txIN------- https://www.upi.com/Archives/1986/01/03/Three-Stanford-football-players-including-starting-safety-Sam-Sutherland/3793505112400/ https://valleycentral.com/news/mexico/former-nfl-player-arrested-in-reynosa https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2018/02/23/ex-stanford-49ers-player-jonathan-martin-detained-by-police/ https://www.apnews.com/b1bbc618c1e64329a0ef29d3649260b8 Not pretty. So in closing, other than acknowledging the obvious - Alabama does have the best football team in the country - you have no idea what you are talking about.

56 other NFL players were suspended in 2017 - 2018, the vast majority for more games than Foster. A young guy smokes pot and makes a bad decision on a girlfriend. He isn't the first and won't be the last. And I'm not a pot advocate. He needs to cut it out. There was a rush to judgment on Foster's guilt and a lot of piling on for a guy that doesn't even play for Buffalo. Based on what? The way he looks, his hairstyle, his home state, his socio-economic status, his family background? All very strange. Edelman got busted for PEDs. I don't see anyone making a connection with Kent State. Lol, you are comparing Foster with Paterno? I didn't bring Foster up on a Bills forum, but I'll respond to ignorant comments. Why are Bills fans so obsessed with Reuben Foster as he has absolutely nothing to do with Buffalo?

I am a northeasterner, but I am not an elitist and I have traveled enough that I don't have stupid stereotypical views of different regions of the US. I try not to judge a book by it's cover either.

56 NFL players have been suspended in 2017 - 2018. Suspensions aren’t unusual occurrences, sadly.

I suspect Harvard has produced far more deviants than The University of Alabama. http://jadeluckclub.com/top-10-from-harvard-to-prison-infamous-students-and-alums-invited-to-reunion/ https://www.inc.com/dustin-mckissen/harvard-mbas-keep-going-to-prison-so-why-do-they-still-rule-the-world-.html

Foster graduated from Alabama. The insinuation that he is stupid just shows more bias. And what does what he does after graduation have to do with the university? Is the university supposed be responsible to for every decision that a graduate makes until he dies? The ignorance and jealousy here is overwhelming. UA is a football powerhouse and a fine academic institution. Just accept it.
-
I was just responding to a troll. To suggest there isn’t a bias against the south in general and Alabama in particular, especially from northeast elitists, is naive. You are corect. There are many students at Alabama who turned down acceptances at Ivy League schools. Alabama has one of the highest enrollments of National Merit Scholars. This student made national news recently. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.businessinsider.com/ronald-nelson-turned-down-every-ivy-league-school-for-university-of-alabama-2015-5 Turns out I was correct in defending Foster against the false domestic violence claims. The woman’s accusations didn’t make sense.
-
Just responding to this ridiculous comment. “I can’t believe someone from such a prestigious academic school as Alabama could get suspended. This isn’t the Saban way!”
-
Barrett Jones, BS/MS in accounting with a 4.0 GPA both undergrad and grad. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrett_Jones You are aware that UA enrolls about 36,000 students, right?
-
Haha, let’s judge an academic institution with 36,000 students based on 1 individual.

The fallacy of Allen being the bigger "risk" than Rosen
Sky Diver replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are more issues with Rosen than his personality. -
They are bringing in two 4* and one 3* recruits this year. Tevon Mack, a transfer from Texas, will also be eligible this year. I've never been to a game a Coleman Coliseum. I am planning on going to a game this season.
-
Losing Collin Sexton hurts, but maybe they will be better without him. They relied on him too much. Donta Hall was a stud. Looking forward to seeing what he does this year. Riley Norris will be back so he should be a stabilizing influence and the young guys have a year under their belt.

The fallacy of Allen being the bigger "risk" than Rosen
Sky Diver replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting that with the exception of one attempt, Rosen had a clean pocket with plenty of time to throw the ball. From what I have seen, he's not very mobile, he doesn't have good pocket awareness, he doesn't throw well on the move, and he tries to extend plays when he should get rid of the ball resulting in big hits/injuries. If you watch the A&M game, which he was lauded for, he threw several passes that should have been intercepted. The A&M secondary was completely inept. Rosen is highly overrated, imo. -
The mean ACT for engineering students who enrolled in 2017 was 30.1. That means that the average engineering student at The University of Alabama in the class of 2021 scored higher than 94 out of 100 students that took the exam. Their average HS GPA was 3.96. Not only does UA attract top football talent, it attracts top students. Roll Tide!

Bills attended Sam Beals pro Day
Sky Diver replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We had the 96th pick in the 3rd rd and the 121st pick in the 4th rd. (Late 3rd, mid 4th). That doesn't put us in great shape if there is competition for this guy.
