Okay, so you let them run. But if you know they're going to run, why not run a 4-3? I'd rather my offense bleed and run out the clock then let them run against nickel and burn clock. It just seems backwards.

There has been record (now retired players) who have stated how they thought they could get back in a game when a team started playing prevent. This has to be a league-wide known thing.
It's so frustrating because it seems so OBVIOUS to just keep playing how you have been. Even more frustrating when the same thing failed them less than a year ago....-
