He's another example of Beane not hitting on his first or second round picks.

That same year Miami took Jaelen Phillips. His impact is much greater.

I dont know the issue overall but there are too many DEs on this roster making a lot of money to not impact the QB more. Last night was a perfect example. The fact we are having to blitz as often as we are says alot about where this group is at.

McDermott not hitting on his picks. Not Beane.

    Beane is a puppet.

Graham: Remember when the Buffalo Bills used to have fun?

Once among the NFL’s most entertaining clubs, the Bills have become a primetime bore. Last year, they averaged 31 points while going undefeated in five night games. The Bills enter Monday night’s matchup against the Denver Broncos with a 2-2 primetime record and averaging 18 points.

You can’t fake fun, and Buffalo’s just not having it.

Remember those F-you plays? Showing up the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense right after their “Renegade” hype song? Throwing a touchdown pass to rookie backup tackle Tommy Doyle while already beating the New England Patriots by 30 in the fourth quarter? John Brown and Cole Beasley chucking touchdowns, Josh Allen catching them? Defensive tackle Kyle Williams getting touches? Isaiah McKenzie capering about?

Buffalo used to exude confidence. It was cocksure, defiant, downright giddy in their dominance.

    All that’s gone lately.

    -------

“A lack of big plays has taken some of the energy out of it,” Davis admitted.

Chunk plays are fun. So, too, are trick plays.

The Bills don’t do those anymore either.

In the 27 games Ken Dorsey has been offensive coordinator, no one other than a quarterback has attempted a pass, and no one other than a running back, receiver or tight end has caught.

Under Daboll, non-quarterbacks completed six of eight passes for 104 yards and four touchdowns — not counting special teams chicanery. Brown threw two touchdowns, Beasley and McKenzie one apiece.

Non-skill players under Daboll caught six of eight targets for 46 yards and five touchdowns. Left tackle Dion Dawkins has two career TD receptions.

The universe smiles upon fat guy touchdowns.

    -------

“Of course, there’s the fun factor of it,” Mitchell Schwartz, the Chiefs’ former All-Pro right tackle, once told The Athletic for a story about the power of unusual plays, “but mentally knowing your coach is going to listen to you, find ways to let you do things you normally don’t get to, not succumb to monotony and make sure guys are having fun and engaged, that mentality goes beyond just a single play here or there.

“It really bleeds down into the overall work environment, and everyone feels more engaged.”

A pretty interesting read for The Athletic subscribers basically summarizing what most of us see - that the offense exudes all the swagger and fun of someone who is about to get audited by the IRS.

Only buffalo media member who has stones.

Sell out puppets like cappacio, Schoop, and his puppy are all bought and paid for. Everything is great in their eyes.

    Good job Graham

JMHO but McDermott lost the team in the 13 seconds game. That was a fire able offense. It's been declining since then. The Eagles moved on from Andy Reid eventually and the Bills need to do the same here.

    Amen.

Let me just tell ya something, if folks think that Diggs holdout and anger isn’t because of McDermott, well, you’re blind.

The players know how big of a clown he is.

Let’s just say this…I live in an area where a current Bill is from. The player and Allen said both that McDermott didn’t know KC had 3 timeouts left before the kickoff which btw, they wanted to squib it but didn’t get into Bass.

Don’t care if anybody believes the above but it’s the Gods honest truth.

The players don’t like this guy. He has to go ASAP. A MAJOR problem.

    Why not?

TPegs has had no problem firing bad coaches and GMs with the Sabres.

He bought the Sabres in 2011

    Fired Ruff / Regier

Hired / fired coaches Rolston, Nolan, Bylsma, Housley, Krueger and has hopefully found something with Granato

Hired / fired GMs Murry, Botterill and now on Adams

So to sit there and say TPegs wont fire McDumbf**k is myopic in my opinion. His track record speaks other wise that he keeps trying to get it right by hiring and firing and right now McDumbf**k isn't getting the job done and anyone with eyeballs can see the regression and impending player mutiny. This is McDumbf**ks baby so he needs to take the fall, not Beane or Dorsey or Daboll or Fraizer(even though I think he stinks) or any other coach. Only option is rid this team of the cancer that has formed and fire Sean!

    Boooom

We should offer Harbaugh 18 mil a year and have him hand pick a staff. What we have was nice 5 years ago, now we are barely treading water.

Would be a grand slam hire.

Proven winner. Would address offensive line once and for all.

Build a bully in Buffalo with Josh Allen.

My #1 target for HC. Think he would jump now with all the allegations out of Michigan.

Diggs (the franchise’s 1B superstar) storming off after the playoff loss then being “sent home” by a “very concerned” McD wasn’t a big enough red flag this team has quit on Coach 13 Seconds.

I saw enough after that moment instantly everything how it will play out flashed before my eyes and it has.  It is.  TWO seasons removed from it now.  Wasted.

I’m not writing this season off btw.  But until we’re not —-NINTH in the conference or whatever beyond week 10 I’m considering the first 9 weeks the trend - BUT we have Josh so anything is possible.

I forgot to address the Diggs issues in my original post.

Great point. Add that to the list against McClap.

This guy HAS to go folks.

You get it...boggles my mind how anyone can point anywhere other than McDermott for our shortcomings at this point...he was needed in the beginning but now he is actually hurting this team

I truly think bean answers to MCDERMOTT honestly

    100% Beane does.

    Sean is the czar.

Rex Ryan with Josh Allen? Okay how do we know that would actually be any worse than whatever the hell this product is mcdermott is giving us right now?  Hell Rex Ryan took the dirty sanchez to the championship game didn't he?

I mean honestly, giving McD credit for anything this offense did 2020/2021 I dunno guys it feels dumb. Only credit I give these guys is picking Josh Allen -- and that got them 6 years of gainful employment. Time to move on. We owe these guys nothing at this point they have failed to deliver.

why?  The trend is downward.  Why give him another shot.  He is wasting JA.  He's proven he can't get it done.

I think things would need to get really ugly in the lockerroom (and on the field) in order for Pegula to consider moving on from McDermott.

The best thing to hope for, if hoping for change, is a good-faith effort to hire good coordinators on both sides of the ball (and obviously replacing Dorsey).

As far as a house cleaning like many want/suggest, and I am open to it.  Sure....  But I have less than zero faith in Terry Pegula in hiring a new head coach or GM or anything.

    Ugly in Locker room?

look at Diggs and what happened this off season. Direct correlation to my post. Diggs knows.

McClap needs to move past lack of rhythm, poor "complimentary" football and lack of execution as excuses for why this team is struggling.  Get to the ROOT of the problem by looking in the mirror.

He is a defensive minded coach but needs a coordinator on defense and a STRONG one on offense.  Until that happens this team will continue to struggle.

I agree but we will lose the strong OC and the root (McDermott) is still here.
