The entire schedule this week is garbage. There will be an upset somewhere, but on paper there are no compelling matchups.
Agreed - not a single compelling matchup - makes it easy for survivor pools as there are lots "gimme" games

A total aside - but Patriots should go back to these uni's

He just looks like he has zero trust in the OL and expects them to get beat on every drop back
Because they DO get beat on every drop back

Did not seem like JA ever had time in the pocket. Sacked 5x and had to scramble a bunch of others
On our 3rd down in OT, Diggs was open but JA could not make an accurate throw because Q Williams was barreling unimpeded towards him
We get the 1st down , there is no Punt return
On most of the runs, there was nowhere to run
It does not seem like any of our OL additions really made a difference

Allen is a symptom of bad coaching.
Coaches aren't the ones chucking the ball 40 yards to a receiver that is double covered

Every team in the league will play Josh Allen this way. He needs a STUD RB to help him. He's not patient enough to stay with the short stuff
There was nowhere for Cook to run - those delayed draws right into a clogged line of scrimmage were ridiculous. The one time they had a pitch out he got outside and had a nice gain

Forget it. Allen was trash. The team lost to the Jets with a backup quarterback.
Not only a backup QB - but one who did not have game preparation

Bills 40 - Jets 0

I'm sure regardless of the outcome, it will change the narrative. But it shouldn't. One game, especially early on, doesn't make a season.
Good teams have lost early games or openers and gone on to win it all. And not-so-good teams have won those games and not followed through with good seasons.Great example is when be beat the Pats 31 to 0 to start the season and they won the SB

Just to put this deal into perspective - The total amount of Burrow’s 5 year deal is less than an NFL owner makes in a single season. The Bengals owner spent $89 million in 2022 in operating expenses and made $462 million. So just shy of $375 million in profit. In a single year.
In the NFL there is a salary cap ceiling and floor (every team has to spend to at least 89% of the cap in a 4yr period). Every team decides how to spend that allotted money. Even teams without a big QB contract on their books are spending a similar amount of total money on players.
Not sure the accuracy of this source, but
Bengals total revenue in 2022 rose 9% to $501 million last year, according to Sportico. That still ranks last in the NFL.
But the team's operating profit jumped to $137 million ranking 11th.

Why would we trade a draft pick for a young, unproven, untested QB who would come in right before the season and be totally unfamiliar with the playbook.
That draft pick we give up could be a MLB or OT
They don't look good, but bottom line is we are most likely going w/ Barkley and Kyle Allen as our backup QB's

I post mine for sale on the forum but generally get almost no responses so end up selling via NFL ticket exchange

It is insane that Stubhub and TM charge fees to BOTH buyer and seller
With TM you used to be able to select a few sections and then see all the tix available.
Now you have to select each little dot on a seat to see the prices - so hard to find seats
No Idea why Websites REMOVE functionality. I really believe that the website developers never actually USE their sites to see how it works for real people
As a side note: I have 8 seats for all Games that I usually sell - Sec 111 Row 7 and Row 14 so DM me if interested. Tix are $$$ but no fees

Wow - "“It might have been one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL. That’s how bad it was.”"
-
Section 111
Row 7 seats 19-22 on the aisle on the 50
Row 14 seats 13-16 around the 45
DM if interested

The issue with the Bengals is they have 4 players that are going to get paid and have 60m in cap space next year. I would expect the AAV around $15m for their average between all of them (and that's low ball). They can't keep all of them.
They have too many players that are worth much more on rookie contracts.
Burrow alone will be over $50 mil per year

I know someone who was part owner of a MILS team years ago.
There was an international player who had horrible teeth so they paid $30K for hist dental work and kept it out of the salary cap

Laverne Torczon, never heard of him
never heard of him either - it can't be possible that he is the best 87 we have ever had!
Just looked him up - played in 1960 and 1961.

For future reference, ESPY tickets are available for general purchase thought ticket outlets for about $75
It is not like the Oscars where you have to be someone or know someone to get in
I have gone a number of times and there are a ton of players milling about before and after that you can meet

Got six and donated them to Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Erie county

A bit of a surprise that Elbert Dubenion is tied for 5th
Just looked at his stats - in 1964 he caught 42 passes for 1,139 yards and 10 TD's - an insane 27.1 yards per reception
The 3rd highest all - time in NFL History
