WOW! I didn't think that would happen. I''ve never been a huge Glenn fan, but still, I would have thought the Bills would have wanted some stability. Richie is going to feel lonely over there on the left side.
I always felt Glenn was somewhat overrated but a good LT nonetheless.
Incognito would have Dawkins by his side. I thought he was pretty solid.

Definitely agree. Did you know that we didn’t draft a DLineman in ANY round in the 2012, 2013, 2014 or 2015 draft? Just crazy - especially when you look at the QBs, RBs and CBs we took in that timeframe - and it has caught up to us.
I had no idea. Talk about a drought.

Build that Dline rotation! He has been a disappointment so far but I like the idea of bringing guys like him in that have all the athleticism you could want but that haven’t been able to put it together.
Right. I like that the FO has spotted a trouble area and are addressing it quickly and early.
I think D-line/D-line depth is the team's greatest area of concern despite all the QB talk and need for a good one.

She probably deserved it.

You might probably be right on this but I wonder what you are basing it on in this thread.....
The Butler thing did happen?
I was responding to a Gilmore thread from yesterday. Guys were stating how they were happy that he didn't get a ring and how they hope that he never does.
I must've posted it here by mistake.

A lot of bitter Bills' fans in here.

We don't need another Fitzpatrick throwing 50-50 TD's-Picks. But we also do not need a dude like Tyrod so freaking scared of throwing a pick that he ends up SUCKING. Let the damn receivers make some plays once in a while for cripes sake. Tyrod could be GREAT if he took a chance once in a while. WTF is wrong with him. TRY TO WIN INSTEAD OF TRY NOT TO LOSE! The guys talented. But where are his balls?
DIE ON YOUR FEET RATHER THAN LIVE ON YOUR KNEES.
You must be having flashbacks...
This has all the emotion of a Bills game-day thread.

Of course they did with Rodgers as the QB. I haven't heard or seen his name any place as an OC candidate for any team in 2018 other than this thread.
Now can you address my comment pertaining to Edgar Bennett's recent firing as OC in GB?

Just now, 26CornerBlitz said:
You didn't answer the question about Clements.
GB was one of the top offenses during his time as its OC.

McCarthy calls the plays in GB. What has Clements done to prove he can successfully lead an NFL offense?
Why then was Edgar Bennett just fired as their OC, if any ole OC can just be plugged in, with McCarthy running the show ?
What was Bennett's purpose as OC and what was the source of his being fired?

Clements has no real track record in GB. Mike McCarthy is their real OC. Why not Curtis Modkins?
Where's your proof?

PLEASE no Shula!!
With McCoy's name apparently off the table, that leaves me with Clements and Shula.
Shula may be a name that starts to gain traction in the OC discussion.

What the heck is everyone's fascination with Bevell?
I really hope he's not the guy.

I thought he did a creditible job...VP that is. Clements was here two years 04-05 says Wikipedia, 13 years ago.
The offense was equally bad with Van Pelt as OC.
Clements was last OC for GB in 2015.
I assume he had to have grown in that time drawing up plays for an Aaron Rodgers-led offense.

Yes, he was OC here....maybe QB coach and he was fired. I don't know when...but surprised his name resurfaces here....he wan't good goods that last time he was here. Now, people do learn and improve at their jobs......but, I would not go that route. And, I am surprised that not many on this board remember this...might have been 25 years ago. And, we also know that Alex Van Pelt was here as both a player and a coach....but I don't feel that way about him....would take a serious look at him.
Alex Van Pelt wasn't good either his time here as an OC and that was his only stint as an OC. So what exactly has you wanting to take a second look at him if you feel that way about Clements?

Wasnt Clements here prior as OC for a brief time?
Yeah back in '04-'05 I think I saw.
Second time a charm perhaps?

Man, I think there are more OC threads than there were HC threads when McDermott was hired
Lol. But this is the only one that matters.
I know, it gets crazy around this time.

Calling plays is a tough job, I want experience.
Most experienced coordinators will have poor seasons, QB is important. All these coordinators are dependent on good QB play.
Because having Aaron Rodgers makes your job easy.
So who's your choice exactly?

Everyone has favorites. Coaching Aaron Rodgers to me is not a positive.
Huh? Why?

For me Tom Clements is the guy I want brought in to lead the offense.
Here are my top three OC candidates
Top Choice: Tom Clements
Former Bills and GB OC; developed very close relationship with Aaron Rodgers and helped lead him to two MVP awards; very productive.
2.) Mike Shula
Former Car OC; familiarity with Sean McDermott and understands his offensive philosophy; very productive with Cam Newton as his QB.
3.) Mike McCoy
Former Den OC; got solid production out of Kyle Orton.

Sounds like a foregone conclusion that the next guy at OC will be Mike McCoy or Rob Chudzinski, but I really hope if available, Tom Clements is another name that pops up in serious discussion.
Think it would be a solid hire. Let's see what happens.
P.S., before you go ripping at my candidates, keep in mind that around this time last year, my endorsement of Sean McDermott as next Bills head coach came to fruition.

Every fan with a lick of sense knows that the draft is a shot in the dark. "Can't Miss" players flop all the time, even among the highest picks. And QB disappointments are among the most hit-or-miss of them all. Nearly every year several are picked high in the draft, and nearly every year most of them disappoint. The real successes are few and far between, as a look around the league shows.
One of the major reasons why FAs at all positions are chased after is that they've proved what they can do against NFL competition. They're generally a better bet than the unproven rookies. "Trial by fire" and all that. Still, it appears the Bills are considering packaging several of their picks this year (and maybe from coming years) to move up to get that elusive "franchise QB" and get themselves out of what Whaley called "Quarterback Purgatory." But who are the "can't miss" candidates that would make this worthwhile? Darnold? Rosen? Mayfield? Could be they will each be HOF-ers by the end of their careers but history is against that.
Another path is to aggressively court a FA QB, which might include Cousins, Smith, Keenum, Bridgewater and a few others. These are all experienced NFL QBs and to my eyes, they all have serious flaws, flaws that lead me to think the Bills will not be greatly better with any of them and might be worse with some.
So what to do if you're Kim and Brian and Sean, with a genuine need at QB, a bunch of good picks, several apparently quality QBs coming out of college, along with several serviceable pros? Here's what I lean towards: Don't package a bunch of picks to go after a college QB, and don't bust the bank to sign a "maybe he'll be good" pro. Instead, take those picks and, if necessary, some of that money you're considering spending on a FA QB and make a deal with the Colts for Andrew Luck. The owner seems to have fallen out of love with him, actively talking him down. And he owes a ton of money to a guy he doesn't like anymore. The organizational situation doesn't inspire confidence that the Colts are about to turn things around any time soon, which must be clear to Luck by now, which should make him amenable to a trade.
A couple of first round picks, maybe more, and the willingness to take on Luck's contract just might make Irsay say, "Dilly dilly." I would certainly favor this path over using those same picks on an college QB, and I'd rather spend the money on Luck than Cousins, Smith, Bridgewater or any of the other QBs likely to be available. What do you think?
I hate the idea.
Hate the catchphrase "dilly dilly" even more.

short and sweet, Romo, (who i said was great after week 2 and now all finally seem to agree with,) said, along w Nance, that theyd both have like to have seen softy sammy go back and jump up for the ball on a long pass late in the game. Romo especially kept talking about how sammy didnt really try.
Regardless the ball went right through his hands w the playoffs on the line. Later in the endzone he also couldnt come up w the 4rth down pass right in his hands, because there was a tiny bit of contact.
So glad that soft excuse for an elite wr is gone. so glad we netted a second, EJ gaines and basically benjamin for him.
Even a real QB cant get the ball to softy sammy twatkins.
So your problem is what again?
Why are you extra-excited speaking on Sammy Watkins, a player who doesn't play for the Bills anymore or affect the Bills org.?
What the f--- is "4rth" on the rampage guy?

He might have thought he heard a slur and given Ritchie's history, figured that's what he said.
And anyone can make an accusation. You need to back it up with evidence.
How exactly would he back up something that he said was directed at him on-field during gameplay?
Provide the voice recording device he had secretly taped to the inside of his jersey?
Bills sign QB AJ McCarron

Bills are going to have trade assets at QB in two or three years. McCarron is going to be good and calls will be made about Peterman's availability.
Folks are sleeping on Peterman.
He'll be much improved year two.
