  1. It's going to be interesting for sure in Foxboro. If you're under 30 you would not probably remember the Pats without Belichick. I think I heard yesterday that during his time there that the Bills, Jets and Dolphins collectively went through 25 head coaches. So you talk about stability you were seeing it in N.E. for about 1/4 of a century as far as a head coach. For them they're entering unchartered waters and as an outsider it will be interesting to see how that team is run after being run one man's way for that long.
  2. Two things. He's been somewhat led to believe that he would be next in line when Belichick left. So the coach in waiting was already there. It's true that they still could have went outside the organization and brought back fan favorite (and probably team favorite too) Mike Vrabel. But the elephant in the room would have been the look around the league that would have caused to bypass the in-house minority coach and candidate to bring in another coach. Whatever deal they had with Mayo or promises they made to sign him a couple of years ago to bring him in kind of boxed them in. I don't think they had any other choice that would have come back looking any good. Not saying that Mayo will not be a good coach but ideally I don't think he would have been their first choice without whatever agreement he had with them either in writing or verbal. Just my guess.
  3. Really Arthur? This coming from the guy that couldn't stop laughing and dancing with your wife when your team was up 28-3 in the 3rd quarter and then you saw fit to come down to the field in a premature celebration? What was priceless was the look on your face as your worst nightmare was occurring and you and your team were powerless to stop it.
  4. You should take into consideration that you're comparing players from two different sports with different formats to determine champions. Football, to me, is somewhat like March Madness. One and done. You can be the better team and have an uncharacteristic game when multiple fumbles occur or any other thing that can lose a game on a day your team is playing well below par. Things happen and that's what's great about upsets. For Jordan to lose a championship his team has to lose four games. Generally, not always, but generally a better team will win out in a series. More margin for error. There's a tomorrow if you lose.
  5. I wouldn't say better as they're two different athletes in two different sports. I think the correct comparison would be the word "successful." And in my humble opinion I would vote for Brady as being more successful even if he doesn't win a sixth in two weeks. I will always feel it's harder to win a Super Bowl than a NBA Championship.
  6. I don't know about that. I think if he had been on the Steelers with the receivers that Big Ben has had and their usual running game and defense that Pittsburgh would probably have won more than two Super Bowls since Big Ben has been quarterbacking that team. And I like him as a QB. Brady is Brady. A guy that comes around once in a generation and no matter who he played for that team's record would be better than what it's been up to now. And if it's been one of the better teams such as Pittsburgh, Baltimore, they'd probably have more trophies than they do now. And he probably deals with a strong rush better than any QB under the same pressure. His release is very quick and his reads are as well.
