I'd trust Bills fans over Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson.

Also when have you ever heard former players say rookies aren't going to do well. They almost all say they will do well, but yet we know the bust rate is far greater than the success rate.

So no I don't really care what these guys say.

We will judge with our own eyes and see how he plays.

Right now the general consensus on this board is he a more consistent version of Gabe Davis. If that is true then for a second round pick I can live with that. That means he is somewhere around 40-50 catches, 600-800 yards, and 4-8 TDs. Gabe's rookie year he had 35 catches, 7 TD and 599 yards.

You would trust Bills fans over 2 guys who have actually played the sport?

Come on, man........i'm actually getting a migraine headache here.

Yes, I don't know how anyone can watch this man play football and think he will be successful in the NFL.  The dude just runs what looks like half speed out there.  His routes are a joke.  They are not crisp, they are not sudden, they are not twitchy, they are not precise, and to top it all off, he looks to be in slow motion.  I personally think his hands are grossly overrated.  Go watch the 22 min video on youtube of him, there are countless balls that are in his hands that he doesn't come down with.  I don't know why those aren't counted as drops.

The guy will not win on the outside in the NFL.  Sauce Gardner will literally laugh at Coleman trying to get opened.  He will be walking out there and able to be in his hip pocket.  You think Coleman is going up over Gardner to get a ball?!

This is the type of talent that you will find in the later rounds or even undrafted.

This is just baffling to me scouts watched this man play and came away with the impression he will be a good WR.

Some people have actually watched a little more than a YouTube video to assess this guy, myself included and to judge a guy's talents only from social media outlets and YouTube is grossly negligent and irresponsible.

Go back and watch full Michigan State and FSU games (you can find them on YouTube.......apparently, you are a YouTube master, so you'll figure it out) and watch the complete package on this guy. It's not always the plays that you see on highlight reels that highlight his skills, but it's the plays he makes that you won't see on social media outlets.......the blocking, slant routes, etc.

That is all i have to say to you, sir.

  3. So, are there people who don't like the pick because it's bad for the team or they don't like the pick because he wasn't the guy that they would have chosen?.......if it's the latter, i can assure you that Beane and the FO really don't give a rat's ass who the fans would have picked and actually, neither do i.

    I have spoken.

You get separation from a number of things, least of all forty times.  He has plenty of athleticism to separate at the next level and it’s going to come from technique.  And at Florida St they didn’t focus on this enough with him, but he’s shown the ability to do it.  At the next level the coaching in staff is going to focus on his technique and release because he proved he has plenty of short area burst and athleticism to excel there.

There have been a lot of guys who came out where separation was a knock on college but showed they had the athleticism to be able to utilize technique at the next level.  It’s why guys like Kupp, St. Brown, etc have all gone on to have great success.

If a player lacks that athleticism (see Gabe Davis) then the ability to develop the techniques and routes that will allow them to consistently win at the next level isn’t as likely.

You need to know what you are looking at to know who can improve and who can’t.  It’s why people high on Allen could see the potential to be accurate by seeing he had the tools, intelligence, commitment, coach-ability, etc to make the improvements in technique and showed he could do it early leading up to the draft.

Coleman has that.  He has that drive, commitment and athleticism to continue to develop and improve where he needs to in order to win consistently in the NFL.

Will he?  Who knows.  But he’s the kind of prospect I like to bet on.  This kid has an it factor that a lot of players don’t.  He has the right attitude, mentality, confidence, swagger, and competitive drive that sets a prospect up for reaching their potential.

To me…if DeAndre Hopkins and Brandon Marshall had a baby, that’s Coleman except Coleman is more athletic and humble.  That’s who I see when I watch him.  And Coleman ran a faster 40 than both of them.

Jesus man, i almost puked my lunch.....

Interesting.  The Fox NFL Sunday is still rolling deep with Terry and Jimmy despite both being terrible.

Terry talks like he got hit in the head one too many times, talking about absolutely nothing besides making only himself laugh with his absolute nonsense jibberish.......and Johnson talks like he's still on the sidelines, not knowing where exactly he is, clueless in every aspect, droning on and on and on and on about a game that has passed him by.

Its unwatchable and yet, they're still going strong.

  6. Do yourselves a favor and watch some Michigan and FSU games, not just YouTube highlights, but some actual full game footage and then tell me you don't like this kid. It's not just about the highlight reels, it's about the game aspects that you won't find on YouTube or social media.

    .......i'll wait.

  7. The funny thing is that everyone loves this pick for this franchise. I haven't heard or read even one person say it was a bad pick for the Bills (i agree), however, Bills fans in all of their infinite wisdom and YouTube knowledge are the first ones to berate it and then, say our FO is wrong.......you know, when they were wrong about drafting JA, so i take this all with a grain of salt cause i've witnessed what this kid can do and he is electric.

Could it be that Bills fans are wrong?..........never, just ask them.

  8. I can tell by most of the threads and posts berating the pick, that they've never watched him play at Michigan or FSU and only watched a YouTube video, so they must be accurate talent evaluators......UGH.

I'm telling you, this kid has talent, he's got grit, he's hungry, he's a big bodied WR who will punish guys at the LOS to create space, he strives for YAC and never gives up on a play.........this kid is going to be electric.

The problem is really not the player its that this team lacks a bonafide burner on the outside. If we signed Hollywood Brown instead of Samuel this pick would make alot more sense. Right now we're lacking speed on the outside in a big way.

I don't think we're looking to play the outside very much anymore unless the play is there. I don't think we're going to force the outside. I think our philosophy lately is to dominate the middle and rely on YAC, something this team has never really had under this regime.

My opinion only, but i see our roster being built for the middle and vastly limiting our outside play........and don't say it can't be done. NE dominated every team for 20 years with the exact same philosophy. They were ahead of the curve and most teams are just starting to figure it out.

I'm happy that at least this regime recognizes that what we were doing wasn't working, so rebuild the roster with younger hungry talent and change tactics.

    I'm all for it.

  10. Well, Beane and our FO seem to think we've done enough and if it's alright with them, then it's alright with me........i'm no GM and whatever they've done up to this point, seems to be working, albeit haphazardly, but i can only hope they know what they are doing to get us over the hump.

  11. When i was watching this kid at FSU, people were crowding the stands just to see what he would do next. People were waiting with bated breath to see more and in total awe at some of the unrealistic plays he made every week........sound familiar, sound like anyone on our roster already, sound like a guy that most fans were disappointed with the pick at the time and that our FO chose the wrong guy?

You all know who i'm talking about.......give the kid a chance.

I'm telling you, having these 2 guys together is going to be electric.

  12. Here's the thing......as much as team don't want to admit it, NE was ahead of the curve for like 20 years against the rest of the league.

How many times did Brady throw long bombs?.....maybe a handful when they had Moss, but the rest of his throws for 20 years was over the middle, dink and dunk, carve and slice up the middle with decent WR's and a dominant TE and rely on them to make whatever YAC the D would allow.

This philosophy dominated the entire league for 20 years. KC has been using it for the past 3 years, so it was only a matter of time before we started using it.

We have decent WR's, a good, maybe great TE and finally have somewhat of a running game........fans like to moan that we're in worse shape this year than last and i disagree. Our philosophy is changing and so too must our roster and play calling.

    We'll be fine.

  13. Here's the team's philosophy in a nutshell.....

Dominate the middle of the field.

Instead of relying on the long bombs, make plays in the middle of the field with RPO's, slants, crossing routes, etc. and let your WR's make a play and earn some YAC......kind of like a hybrid West Coast Offense.

The game has changed, and the long plays are just not as prevalent as they used to be. Teams are changing their philosophies in terms of plays, coverage, priorities, etc.

I didn't see it at first, but i am starting to figure it out and lean towards what we're trying to do here......and i like it. McD wants a more balanced team?......this is it.

This is personally my favorite draft since getting the wrong Josh.

Always a fan of trading back

Coleman is exactly the type of WR Josh has needed. A guy who goes up and gets contested balls bc we all know Josh dgaf about throwing into coverage and giving his guys a chance to go make a play, now he has a perfect compliment for that.

What’s not to like about Bishop? I expect him to be a starting Safety 1/4 of the way thru the season. Has all the intangibles.

Free third round pick from moving down and still getting the WR Josh needs instead of John Ross 2.0- starting caliber day 1 DT in Carter

4th- an absolute beast in Ray Davis, the perfect compliment to Jimbo.

5th round so far- Potential starting C, immediate depth at the spot if nothing else, and gains a 4th in next years deeper draft class.

No idea how you find room to complain about this draft between the quality of players, plus the way Beane worked the board and added picks to both this years class and next...

Agreed......this has been an excellent draft for us so far and it's a shame that more fans can't see that.

  15. For anyone denouncing this pick, how are you so sure that he will be a failure and not work out for us?

Just curious as to why people think it's not a good pick.....

Speed?.......yes, he had the slowest 40, however, he had the fastest gauntlet and pass-arounds at the combine by any WR in the past 2 years

    What else you got?

That’s fine. But we need some elite play making impact players. Bc this is what you get. One and done in playoffs. Mahommes and Reid stuffing you in a locker every year

You know it's only like day 2 of the draft, right?........plenty more picks coming, my man.
