Oh my bad. He’s someone who’s gotten better each year. He’s a different comparison than a Greg Little who always seems to leave you wanting him to do a bit more. He’s got really nimble feel which is why I think he could be a LT in the NFL, but I think he could realistically play either Tackle or Guard position in the Pros which I think may make his versatility very interesting to McBean.

He’s played RT the past 3 years. With that being said he’s easily the best Lineman they have.

He shows very well on tape and I believe he’ll do even better for himself at the combine. I’m not sure what production you’re looking for from a OT.

I think he’s the pick if he’s there. He’ll be pushed up draft boards as the draft gets closer. He’s HUGE, ATHLETIC, has great movement skills and strong, he can also play left or right in the NFL. Its early and Im probably wrong but I’m calling my shot now.

I think we still may draft @ 9. As of now we have a .01 advantage in regards to strength of schedule but I’m not sure that will be the case after tonight. The colts and the titans will play each other, we played both teams this year. That means one will have an extra win and the other an extra loss (.500). Those two games need to be added to our strength of schedule which would leave us exactly tied with Denver.

Thats exactly it. Tyrod is who he is, a game manager who’ll protect the ball and he has some wheels on him to get out of a jam, extend the play and perhaps get a 1st down. He’s perfect for a team like the Ravens this year. Their defense is good enough that playing that way and not making many mistakes on offense will allow them to win many games. The problem with that style is you get a penalty and forget about it, you’re punting. Offensive turnover in your own RedZone and you’re probably going to lose the game. It’s just too hard to consistently win because once the game starts things happen. Kinda like Mike Tyson said, “Everyone’s got a plan until they get punched in the mouth” Tyrod did enough to help us break the curse and for that I’ll always be greatful, but it’s hard to watch Josh Allen play and not notice the stark difference.

When you look at the crop of rookie QBs only Josh and Baker seem comfortable throwing the ball 20 yards downfield or more (with certain exceptions like a simple go route. Hard throw but an easy read). That’s what I’m most excited about. He looks raw at times but most of his weaknesses seem much easier to correct than the weaknesses I see in Darnald, Rosen, & Jackson.

I understand. Brady is an established QB My point is that perhaps the coaches are telling him to try to figure out what he’s capable of and not capable of and NOT trying to take the easy passes which may even be the highest probably of a successful play because his development is more important than the outcome of the play/game. When you put that in contrast with Brady who’s simply trying to get the best possible outcome for every play, he’s established he doesn’t need to take risks until he needs to when the games on the line he will. Ideally that’s where we want to be. But we aren’t exactly in the same position as the Pats currently. Most rookie QBs are afraid to throw the ball down the field and because of this they don’t attempt the passes, in turn they never learn, develop, and grow.

He threw a ton of Ints his rookie year. Perhaps the Colts tweaked their game plan when they were going up against players like Bruce Smith so they didn’t risk getting their rookie franchise QB hurt. Im not speculating about what the game plan was for PM, that’s from Peyton’s own words. Obviously it worked out for him. I’m not sure we are doing the same thing as JA didn’t check down much in college either. But I’m putting it out there for the people who still have concerns about his accuracy to point out that he’s not exactly attempting many “easy throws” good or bad it’s just the reality of the situation. This is evident by the fact that in the past 2 weeks Josh Allen has 2 of the 4 highest Air Yards per attempt for any game since 2016. I agree. I just love the reaction JA had that he left it up to KB or someone other than himself and he was disappointed in the result. It’s a small thing I noticed that probably doesn’t mean much but I appreciated it

I’m not certain but I’m starting to think that they (McBeane) have a good strategy in place for Allen. I belive it was Peyton Manning who said the most important thing for his development in the NFL was his NFL 1st coach and OC told him in so many words, “Peyton, this year is all about you. We don’t expect to be very good so don’t worry about throwing interceptions this 1st year. The most important thing for us is that you come out of year one knowing what you can and can’t do down the field. We don’t care about you checking the ball down necessarily even if it’s the only option you have available. We’d rather you attempt to convert the 3rd and long and either we’ll convert or you’ll learn.” Obviously I don’t have insider information but it seems that is the same approach JA is taking this year. I watched last Sunday’s game again last night and the reason I feel this way was a play that stood out like a sore thumb. I believe we were halfway through the 2nd quarter and it was 3rd and 13 or so on our 37. JA quickly went through his reads and got the ball out to Kelvin Benjamin 9 years a down the field. KB caught it ( to my surprise) and got an additional yard or two. JA looked disappointed in himself that he even attempted a pass that wasn’t beyond the marker. I thought to myself how many times over the past 2 decades have I been screaming at my TV because on a critical 3rd and long our QB were more interested in keeping their completion % above 60% than trying to win the game. This kid’s a gamer and I’m so pumped to see how he continues to progress.

I wanted Bulaga, but when Dez Bryant was there when we picked I wanted him. I thought he’d go top 5 for sure, he ended up in the 20s and I thought wow was I off on him. Obviously the NFL scouts know something about DEz that I didn’t.

Peyton Manning has said the best thing the Colts EVER did for his development was they didn’t give him many easy throws his 1st year in the league. They also told him they didn’t care about INTs because they wanted him to realize what he could and what he couldn’t do. Many of of these guys coming out are on teams with 4 and 5 star players all round them and their job is to protect the ball because their team is good enough. The problem with that is they are never asked to push it and see what they can do. We saw it the past couple years with Tyrod more often than not it wasn’t the throws he misses that caused us to lose, it’s the ones he never attempts. Allen took a lot of chances this year because he had to. His offense also didn’t have many easy throws built in to it and since he was the only guy to game plan against (WYO has zero run game) he saw 8 and 9 man drops almost exclusively. He’s better than most on this board realize, the scouts are right about him. QB rank: Darnold, Allen, & Mayfield. *Rosen talent wise he’s number 1, but with his father being a Neurosurgeon I’m concerned he’s two big hits away from walking away from the NFL completely after he proves to himself that he COULD do it.
