I do wonder if we were making calls to get up to get BTJ before the Jags. I think that would have been the only trade-up chance for us.
I would think so, or at least I hope so. I'm definitely surprised they didn't double up & try to take another WR... then again, drafts rarely go the way we expect, so I'm not mad.

Im not sure he can make the roster but he at least has physical traits Tenuta did notNot sure how relevant the RAS has been when projecting how players perform once they hit the NFL, but it definitely tells you there's a lot of potential.
Basically all you can ask for from a 6th round pick.

I'm more excited for this pick & Sedrick Van Pran-Granger than anything else.
More OL is always a positive, and hopefully they will develop into quality contributors for us.

It's a little amusing to think we came into this draft hoping to use our extra late round picks + the 1st to move up a bit.
Instead, we ended up leaving without a 1st rounder at all, and came out with 9 picks instead of the 10 we started with 😅

I'm just disappointed we didn't come away with 5 players from our 5 x 5th round picks!
Really wanted them to go wild & load up.

Why do fans on this board think they know more than guys who live & breathe this stuff? I genuinely don't get that aspect of draft weekend.
And don't come back w/ "well, Cody Ford"....
Because every draft we see how many times supposedly smart GMs & scouts pass up on great players or take awful ones.
Fans can be guilty of honing in on a small group of players, while NFL teams often overthink & over-evaluate other players.
I might be a brain dead idiot, but I can safely say I was all aboard the Mahomes bandwagon in 2017. Do I know more than GMs? Hell no. But apparently I'm smarter than the Bears FO who traded up to draft Mitch Trubisky & ignore Mahomes.
-
Don't worry, we about to pop off with our 5 x 5th round picks!
We're gonna come away with a brand new defensive unit by the end of this boys!

Hell yeah! I'm overflowing with excitement over the prospect! 😅

32 GMs have passed on Franklin almost three times now and I love Franklin. I would love it if we traded up for him right now. But there’s a reason why we’re fans and these guys are pros. Beane is in his spot for a reason and we’re posting on message boards for a reason.
True, but that happens every year with plenty of players. How many times did all 32 GMs pass on Nacua last year? Maybe they're just as dumb as we fans are 😅
-
I like the pick, though I only read up on him & never saw him in college.
There's not going to be any Elam-like excuses that he played the wrong scheme in college or can't figure out 2 high safety looks right? 😅
-
If Worthy ends up being great & Coleman does not, Bills ownership should implement a "Never Trade with KC" policy.
Everyone saying last night that they trust Beane & our scouts to get their guy, more so than they trust the Chiefs' staff, we'll find out how smart our guys really are this year!
Edit: For what it's worth, I like the guy. I don't think he's another Kelvin Benjamin. I think he'll be pretty good, but I'm not sure he'll be a legit WR1 or anything.

Hasn't it been pretty evident that the more "armor" they give these guys, the more reckless they play?
I bet if they took helmets off of people entirely, there would be way less people willing to launch themselves head first into other players or lower their head/shoulder to truck a defender.

I'm cool with that, but I'd rather they find a way to fix playoffs & get it back to top 2 seeds getting a bye in each conference.
Don't care how they have to do it, cut teams, add teams, whatever, but it's annoying that only the 1 seed gets much benefit. Under the pre-2020 rules, the Bills would've had a 1st round bye twice already.
Sorry, just whining about something that'll likely never change 😅

What are you talking about? We got to move around some 5ths & 7ths, and even got a 3rd rounder that we could parlay into a couple 6ths if we wanted!
Yall are smoking crack!
-
I'm glad the Bills didn't trade up, that's what I was most concerned about.
That being said, I wasn't too thrilled that we just said "eh, we don't need a 1st round pick anyway" and bowed out for next to nothing. But hey, that's secondary to not blowing your load to get to the top 10.

Also Gabe Davis is better than any Chiefs WR other than Tyreke Hill
Lol in what way?
The same guy Bills fans couldn't wait to get off the team? The same guy who Bills fans said wasn't even good enough as a number 2? I guarantee Rice will be better in no time, if he isn't already. Completely blinded by homerism.
It also doesn't change my original point. "Lucky" or not, the Chiefs have a better track record with their WRs than us. At least they hit on one.

KC doesn’t even have a good track record drafting WRs and everyone is losing their minds because we let them take a twig of a human that can move fast.
I don’t get it.
They got Tyreek Hill... and Rice will probably end up pretty good. What's Beane's track record?
Gabe Davis and maybe Shakir takes another step? Not like we're savants in that area.

Exciting. Maybe we can get another fourth rounder! and swap 7s.
Hopefully we can pickup some extra 6ths & 7th for the 2025 draft, since everyone knows that's where the real studs come out!

Who says this guy is the next Tyreek hill? 🤣
His record-setting speed, paired with Andy Reid's offensive genius, combined with the best QB in the league.
Pretty good chance he blows up big.

It was beyond predictable that so many of you would act as if you all thought Xavier 160 lb Worthy was the next Randy Moss just as soon as KC picked him.
It's more the fact that Reid is much smarter than McDermott & will find a way to take advantage of that speed.
Paired with Mahomes, it's going to be one more guy the Bills helped the Chiefs get that can possibly hurt them. You're acting like Tyreek Hill's tenure on the Chiefs didn't teach us anything.
-
Glad the Bills won't be forcing their way up now. Maybe they trade up a couple picks, but no crazy splash to the top 10.
Bears are going to be scary though. 2024 version of the Texans.

Ouch... listening to Tom Grossi, and one of his members said "the draft is too slow.. if I wanted to watch 32 picks over 3 hours, I'd watch Josh Allen."
