  1. Chad's a good bridge backup as Ullmark/Luukkonen develop elsewhere.

Did he say anything about Nelson? As still baffled why we kept him in Rochester all year last year unless there were some expansion draft repercussions I wasn't aware of.

One has to wonder WHAT IF we never traded Andreychuk for Fuhr and just stuck with Hasek.

Even though Toronto and Buffalo were in separate conferences then, and I was probably only 6 months old, it infuriates me that Toronto won that trade. They were one OT away from the Cup Final that year.

And I like that Ocho Cinco is coming back here. Good backup.

  2. Rereading the last book again (3rd time) A Dance With Dragons

around chapter 5 when Tyrion is traveling with Illyrio Mopatis, Tyrions lineage comes up a few times ...

How he dreamed of riding Dragons and how he slew his father

Wouldn't it be ironic if Aerys really was Tyrion's father?

Because then Jaime will have killed Tyrion's father (the Mad King) and Tyrion killed Jaime's father (Tywin).

  3.

You've read about a different Tywin than me...

Anyway, he told Tyrion very plainly "you are my son" when he made him hand in his stead.

Also, GRRM gave a very measure response when asked by a reader who named Jon Snow...

    5. Since all of their mothers died, who gave Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister their names?

Mothers can name a child before birth, or during, or after, even while they are dying. Dany was most like named by her mother, Tyrion by his father, Jon by Ned.

This quote was long used as evidence that Jon was not Ned's son, since GRRM didn't use the word "father" to describe Ned (we now know that this logic was sound). Tyrion, by contrast, was "named by his father"--Tywin.

Also it needs to be said that Tyrion is at the very least half-Lannister. Tywin married his cousin Joanna Lannister- the mother of Tyrion, Cersei and Jaime- and it was known that the Mad King Aerys made passes at Joanna in the past.

Even when Tywin tells Tyrion about the day he was born:

"I wanted to carry you into the sea and let the waves wash you away. Instead I let you live and I brought you up as my son...because you're a Lannister."

I think many of the clues in the books and show point to Tyrion being a Targaryen.

  4. Ryan Grigson totally screwed the Colts over. He was awful at drafting and left Luck with a sieve of an O-line.

Also, the Jags/Titans game should be marketed as the "Former Coaches of the Buffalo Bills Bowl" with Marrone and Mularkey.

Which coach do you NOT want to see make the playoffs before the Bills, St. Doug or Mike?

  5. I can't complain with any of these hires, at least from their first impressions. I loved the Housley hire. He'll do wonders for that defense.

Hoping the same is true for McDermott. I saw another poster in another thread say if the Bills just had a coach and a decent defense they'd be in the playoffs. I can't argue with that. With a good defense, Bills probably beat Miami twice and the first Jets game at the very least and take the Fish's spot in the wildcard.

  6. He was the reliable, possession slot receiver. He probably would have had a lot better stats/career if he had a better QB throwing to him. Skyler Howard got by on pure grit, but he was a below average ability QB. Howard would almost get his receivers killed by overthrowing simple 10-15 yard crossing patterns.

Shorts was a good receiver but he was kind of in Shelton Gibson's and Kevin White's brother's shadow at WVU. I loved the signing.

  7. (see my edited link to the latest ****storm...)

Yeah I saw the MLB was looking into comments he made but this is really bad. He'll be suspended for sure. I doubt he's in the lineup tonight but Bautista is probably gonna get some pitches up and in.

  8. I really want to see AT&T Park, Dodger Stadium (never been there even though I'm a Dodgers fan), Wrigley and Fenway.

On a side note, the Mets are hurting right now. Sucks that they're dealing with all these injuries so early in the season.

and just when the Blue Jays series and season couldn't get more nightmarish....

Yeah and it'll be tough with the Yankees, Orioles and Sox in front of them. Boston just swept the Cardinals in a two game series and the Yanks have dominated the Royals. Tonight's game might get chippy.

  9. Was at the Yankees/Pirates game yesterday. I'm very surprised with how well the Yankees have started out playing this season. It didn't have the look of a typical New York lineup but they look really young and have some good prospects in the minors.

  10. Location ... Location ... Location

If it's where I live now...the possibilities are endless. If it were in Arizona or Nevada; not a whole heck of a lot. Let's assume it's where I live, I'd probably sell most of it off (so I don't have to worry about what's going on in the back-40 - people growing pot on the land). I'd use the money from the sale to build the estate of my dreams (keeping a couple/few acres for myself). I looks like I could get about $2.5 for about 100 acres ... http://www.landwatch.com/Sonoma-County-California-Land-for-sale/pid/25037646

If it's in the western part of those states, you'll have some prime beach front property once California becomes an island or Arizona Bay.
