And your evidence that the reason they were defending the sideline and giving that cushion was on the coaches? You're saying that it has to be the coaches and can't be the players because .... that's what feels right to you.
In other words, more confirmation bias.
The fact is, Levi Wallace has said in public and carefully explained that they called the right play on that second pass, but that Poyer and he mis-communicated, Poyer playing deep and Wallace not looking at him, assuming that Poyer would play up, so that Wallace could play further to the side.
Look up the John Fina podcast with Levi Wallace.
It's not clear what happened the first play. But that doesn't mean you can blame the coaches. It means we don't know who is to blame. It certainly could be the coaches, But it also might be players mis-playing the play that was called.
And again, the kick appears to have been some kind of miscommunication. The rest of the STs players clearly expected a squib, while the kicker kicked deep. But who was responsible for that miscommunication? We don't know. Most likely it was the STs coach, as he was let go. But that's educated guesswork. So that's the way to bet, but there's no way to know.
So you think Frazier called a defense and the players all collectively did something completely different? In you logical mind that is the most plausible scenario?

That's nonsense. And very convenient nonsense for someone who wants to blame the coaches.
By that logic, no mistake could ever be blamed on the players.
By that logic, if the coach said "In situation A, take action B," and he said it many times, but the player still didn't do it, well, "everything falls at the feet of coaching." That's just nonsense.
In this case it was coaching. Defending the sidelines and giving that cushion when all they needed and wanted was a FG attempt. It was the wrong scheme to play given the situation. Romo called it out, it made no sense. They should have done a squib, they should have played the receivers at the LOS...the staff effed it up. The fact Poyer says we all made mistakes really points to his character and being a team player, not wanting to throw people under the bus. He has relationships with these people.

That is a spectacularly awful approach

vast overstatement. Yes they should get a rookie in but woefully deficient at WR is silly

I’m so glad this question is getting asked. Definitely outside the box thoughts here.

The point is once it hits 0 time is up, they give a "half second" or so for the ref to go from looking at the clock to then look if the ball is snapped. It should not be on human to do that IMO, get it snapped on time or it should be called. It just looks bad when you can see the replay go to 0 but the play counts

I wouldn't mind an OT at all. Put your best 5 out there, and if Dawkins moves to guard so be it. I would rather have Josh more comfortable in the pocket at this point in his career. I think that's our best bet to win the superbowl. We have enough guys that can catch the ball now. I could get behind IOL in the second too, let McBeane figure out what to do with the leftovers if things get complicated.
Brave putting the bolded on this forum :). I agree for the most part, I do want them to invest a 1 or 2 in a WR though, mostly for the future rather than this upcoming year.

I would not expect an IOL with the first round pick, the value of the player could be there but the value of the position makes it tough. Last year people mocked Torrence to the Bills in the first and they got him in the second. I fully expect DE, DT or WR with the first pick. If it were OL, I would think an OT that fell would be more likely than anything inside.

Yeah, if it were as simple as retiring to get out of a contract and become a Free Agent - there'd be a bunch of players "retiring" every offseason.
There are a lot of people who seem to think that is how it works.

He had micro-fracture surgery after the draft I think....remember hearing a DR on Sirius saying he would never get a second contract....he has bounced around a bunch and never was what his hype was but he has made a nice career for himself.

Because he has hit on so many defensive picks esp. The DL and ignored giving our Franchise QB a 1st round talent at WR right?
But hey he is here to stay, so it is what it is.
I would like to see an unbiased analysis of Beanes draft picks vs others. If you want to cherry pick guys who did or did not work out you can do that for every GM ever. You have to be able to peel through the layers and compare to his peers to evaluate him fairly. The ignoring his franchise QB think is ridiculous, this is not fantasy football. How are Diggs and Kincaid on the Bills Roster?

You might be mixing up my opinions with others. I have not said McD needed to be replaced. But it’s clear to see that this team (players and coaches) has a ceiling that is preventing them from beating the best of the best teams.Your 49ers example is not the same. They have risen up through their bracket to the final challenge. That’s not easy to do. Just like those 90s Bills superbowl teams. This current Bills team has failed to do that and it’s on every player and coach.
I understand your argument to a point. However, personally I believe the Bills can get it done and further, that they will, I understand they have not and nothing will change people's opinion until they do. The 49ers play in a weak conference and they have the same problem the Bills do, they cant beat the Chiefs in the playoffs. It just happens to be true that they are in the NFC and cannot face the Chiefs unless it is in the Superbowl. The Chiefs have been to 6 straight AGCCG's...they are consistent and hard to beat, it's like Jordan and the Bulls or another analogy I want to avoid here.

When it has happened this often you cannot chalk it up to dumb luck. One team (coaches and players) rises to the occasion while the other wilt. Attributing these losses to dumb luck will only further the same results. You think the Bills just wilted away in 13 seconds and last year? Have the 49's wilted away in their two SB losses? You make it sound like the Bills are not completive or capable of winning those games, its simply false. It is a fact they have lost the games but wilted away is silly. One team has demonstrated a winning formula for the last 6 years, it is literally like the Jordan led Bulls. What is your idea for the new staff? Who will it be?
-
It is a distraction but I would watch it. The show is way tuned down with the actual drama and key conversations showed. The teams clearly have influence on what is airable so the show is not what it once was. If was able to choose, I would say no for the Bills but at this point it is inevitable, everyone has to take their turn at some point. Its like the home game in London....eventually your number comes up.

My only beef would be this would have been better to know before FA started. But on the flip side, all 32 teams are in the same position.

Andy Reid says it’s really hard to win in this league just yesterday. It’s true and generally shows respect for all the others that put so much work and money into trying to win.

Sorry, wasn't thinking PSL's strictly. More our tax payers paying for stadiums. Don't think that would pass. Then fans have to pay this PSL fee. Now that's a fans choice I agree. And I said if they do fine but don't complain about your taxes. Bottom line I think all stadiums being built using our state taxes would not pass a popular vote.
You are probably correct about that.

They are also 21 million over at this point for 2025 which is not ideal but at least better than it was this year.
