I’m guessing just a guy to bring to camp.  Maybe he makes the team, maybe not.  I’m going to bet they tell us he is a great ST player.

Absolutely not.  He’s a fairly big upgrade over Kumerow.  He’s a lock to make the roster

Restructure what? He's only got this year and next year left on his deal. And his cap hit next season is 27 million. There's no way to restructure his deal or extend a player the caliber of Nuke without paying a fortune. I don't see us doing that and giving up compensation.

Especially given our cap situation this year, the amount of holes we still have to fill, and our cap situation next year (again 18+ plus over the cap).

And doing so would be giving up on extending Gabe after this season, which Beane doesn't sound like he wants to do, if his last presser was any indication.

Way more likely we gamble on OBJ for a year, trade for someone more manageable like Jeudy for a year or two, and/or Draft someone. Even if we could, there's no way we'd pay Diggs what we're paying him and then pay for Nuke.

Any way you slice it, Hopkins is a Madden like pipedream for this season.

It amazes me people think we can take on that kind of cap hit lol

Poona Ford is a worse player than Ed Oliver so I'm not sure what the plan there would be. If they plan on trading Oliver and signing a lesser player to use the resulting cap space on improving the offense

I'm fine with that. If they're signing Ford as depth behind Oliver that's just more cap space devoted to rotational defensive linemen which would be a mistake IMO.

I’d say they are rather similar.  Neither of them play at a consistent level.  Ford being 25ish pounds heavier is the only difference

I can understand why no one would want him due to his past.

But, I'm also trying to figure out when was the last time a group of 53 choir boys won a championship.

    Probably at a singing competition

I’m not the guy that complains about us not doing enough. This team has been great the last handful of years here and I’m truly appreciative. Im

so happy that Fraizer is gone and we will be better for that alone…but what are we actually doing here? Poyer being back is big but what’s the plan at WR/RB/OL/MLB? I’m not saying we are running out of time or anything but we definitely haven’t gotten any better here.

They have 7 draft picks and it’s still March.  I wouldn’t hit the panic button yet

Just watch some Iowa games on the ESPN app. Guy is just awesome. He plays zone like he has eyes in the back of his head, sheds, fills, pursues, and I see sideline to sideline work despite the assumption “big long white guy can’t run.” He can run and carry the seam. He’s a big stronger version of Fred Warner. He’s a dude. Someone mentioned in another thread, that Campbell is training with Luke Keuchly. In theory, he could come to his pre Draft visit (assuming he has one) and already know the entire playbook.

Trenton Simpson is different. Some websites compare him to JOK of the Browns. Simpson is bigger, faster, stronger, and more explosive. He looks like he came out of a lab to play for McDermott. Oozes process too. If you watch his games, last year he was more of a flex nickel edge player. This past year he played in the box as a stack backer, so you see a lot of different skills. I would be ecstatic with either honestly. Simpson hits like a fright train, speed, all over the field and he is an awesome blitzer.

As this process continues, because these guys are such amazing, incredibly smart young men, they are going to rise up draft boards.

I’m fully expecting him to be the pick at 27
