Because they couldnt score in those games, thats how. Held the Rams to 14 points Held the Bucs to 20 points (that was when the Bucs had receivers still) Held the Jags to 17 points Held the Broncos to 18 points The one that got away from the was the Seahawks 27 points Sorry but if I told you the Bills held the other team anywhere from 14-20 points, you'd probably expect we won the game right? That also doesn't include some games they did win like holding the Ravens to 10, SF to 15, Titans to 13 and 0.

Freaking ty. The other teams actually want us to play small ball. It only benefits them, not us. McD runs a bend but dont break defense. Always has and probably always will. Now I am not going to say that the defense is good... but in the past it has been excellent (accept against the Chiefs in the playoffs) it worked so well because it caused other teams to play small ball. The more attempts they had on a drive the more chance they had at making a mistake. Our D thrived off turnovers. It wasnt good between the 20s but it was good at getting turnovers. This is what people want us to do to ourselves. Run these long 12-15 play 7-10 min drives. A single mistake happens and the drive is over unless Josh pulls off some miraculous play. At the same time we are limiting our own opportunities with the ball because we are shortening the clock against ourselves. You cannot play like this all the time. People expecting a QB to be perfect all game every game. Its just not going to happen.

This D can't stop a nosebleed. You recognize they have an elite defense but want to run a conservative offense against that. IOW you want to give that elite defense more and more opportunity to stop our offense by adding unnecessary extra plays in the drives. I just dont get this mindset. What do crap teams do when they are playing against an elite QB? They try to have long time consuming drives to limit the other QBs opportunity, right? So why do people want to actually do that to our own offense? All we do is limit our own offenses opportunity with the ball. We shorten the game and therefor the amount of possessions against ourselves. Then when a mistake happens it completely kills the game and we wonder why.

Josh Allen doing Josh Allen things, and why we need it
Scott7975 replied to Ray Stonada's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bro, he threw short passes all game long This short passing dink dunk small ball offense only works if you dont make mistakes. It works if your run game is giving you positive yardage and keeping you ahead of the sticks. It works if your short passes consistently get good YAC. It works if you dont take penalties. It works if you make perfect passes all game long. As soon as a single mistake happens then the drive is over. You cannot play like this in the NFL. -

No not really. It wasnt all there. Maybe Josh missed some passes but all QBs do. They did take away the run game. Thats a pretty big part of that style of offense. The Bills were not prepared for it. -

Looked good. If Allen went to him and threw a good ball thats definitely a big play. He had a step. I dunno I trust it with the wind gusts. I dunno about the guy a couple posts above you saying he is not fast. He may not be Tyreek Hill but the dude is pretty fast. -

They arent going to always be able to play like that and thats the entire point. Ive been saying it most of the season. Some teams will take away the run game and this short 2 yard passes junk. I guarantee you the Chiefs will take that away in the playoffs. Dink and Dunk ball control crap only works when you play perfect AND the defense can make stops. It doesn't work in close games or games you are behind in. Even Miami took that away. If we played this style last week, we never would have lost to Miami. We would have blown them out. -

Yes. The result was also better field position for us. You can call it incredibly stupid and wreckless play but thats because of the result. Had he tossed it better, which he has done a bunch of times now this year, and gotten out of the safety then what? You dont get these miraculous plays without trying to do "incredibly stupid and wreckless." Josh is not Tom Brady. He is never going to be. Dinking and Dunking down the field all game every game is not what makes Josh special. What makes Josh special is the plays that you call "incredibly stupid and wreckless." You just don't call them that when they work. -

Nobody is mistake free. Not a single QB. Did you watch Mahomie and Lamar play yesterday ? Way worse than Josh. -

yes 3 over 2 and a free kick back to them. -

im assuming they would have at least gotten into field goal range off a free kick so that would be 5 points and who knows they could also have broke something for a TD with different play calling from a free kick. so yes, ill take giving up 3 points instead of a safety plus then we got the ball back in good field position. -

He more often than not does make a play out of nothing though. If he didn’t do that then it was a safety anyways as he was already being grasped. -

That first INT saved a safety though so it helped us. Sounds weird but it’s true. I mean the D had to make a stop but I’ll take giving up 3 points over a safety. -

Yeah 2 more times. Thursday will be 1. So after next week Sunday, they will have to sign him. Unless a team comes along and wants him. Then they will have to sign him sooner. Also doing that could end up making it a contract bigger than they were going to pay. -

For sure. Keon is a wasted spot and bad draft pick. Need to find a spot for Gabe on the roster. Is Beane ballsy enough to cut Keon for him? Probably not. -
We should sign Gabe Davis to the 53
Scott7975 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m not going to suggest who to cut but yes, Gabe needs to be signed. This is why I was surprised they signed Hardman so fast. I guess because they cut Codrington for him but so what? -

He had a great game today but I wouldn’t get too hyped yet. Tampas passing defense isn’t all that good. it’s a positive and some hope though -
We need to win this one to keep pace. They have a stout D but it’s beatable. It’s a Thursday game which throws a wrinkle in it. Always tough to play on Thursday.
-
the only thing I’d say to this, and I mostly agree, is that Beane isn’t constructing and drafting guys in a vacuum. McD has a lot of input. Maybe not so much on specific players but at least on team positional needs and direction. I’m not even mad when they put all these pieces into defense. What I’m actually mad about is that it isn’t working out. Either the players suck or if they are good they get injured. That’s what actually makes me mad. also mad that they have had opportunities to get better receivers but he fails to close the deal and we end up with all mediocre players. Josh needs a stud on the outside.

11/16/25 GAMEDAY Bills vs Buccaneers Post Game Thread
Scott7975 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we can outgun them on offense but I think they are a bit more balanced on defense. Wide open offense though, not that dunk dunk ball control crap. I expect to beat them this time around and split the series. -
Yeah my bad. I heard Rodger’s may have broken his wrist. Not sure if throwing hand or not. That might be a blessing to both the Chiefs and Ravens but I still think one of them doesn’t make it. My bet would be the Chiefs. They just haven’t played well. Not sure they get on track with their schedule.

Not contenders IMO. Bills D got tore up in the run game by one of the worst rushing teams in the league while also being down their starting back. Not putting much pressure on the QB. If Tampa had their top wrs that game probably went differently even if we still scored 6 TDs. if they can somehow turn around their defense then maybe.
