Joe B article - Elijah Moore, Curtis Samuel, Gabe Davis
Scott7975 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it’s the mental beat down from McD over the past few years. Always trying to get him to stop running. Always worried about the turnovers and not taking account the amount of big plays and TDs that occurred from the same playstyle. Then trying to turn him into Tom Brady dink and dunk etc. the dude is probably in constant conflict between what he wants to do and what the coach is telling him to do. You can see this all the time in his hesitation. I’ve been saying it for over a year now and it’s gotten worse this year. -

im probably the boards biggest Gabe “hater” but the dude has made some amazing toe taps on the sideline. His problem has always been consistency with his hands and not being on the same page as Allen. -
there isn’t really anyone to promote this time. If change happens it will be end of season most likely. Don’t forget that this is actually the offensive style McD has wanted since he got here. I think people forget how bad Mahomes has looked with a bad supporting cast too.
-
im not arguing about public confidence. Honestly I’ve had that same confidence since week 1. Im not a believer in this offense because it’s been obvious most of the season that if you shut down Cook, you shut down the offense. Been arguing with the advance stats people about this for weeks.
-
spot on. I’ve said the same thing in another thread. Last season was the closest we’ve gotten.
-
it’s not just that. I can’t remember who showed the play breakdowns but I remember watching it…. it was pointed out after the Atlanta game. They figured out how we used motion and how it relates to our passing progressions and blocking assignments. This is why our O was so bad in that game. Atlanta D would show a look. We would use motion like we normally do. Allen would set the blocking and Atlanta would flip their defense.
-
No. The blocking was bad. Even though Cook got a few decent runs, a lot of them were held to two yards. This team isn’t built to play behind the sticks. They moved away from it both because it wasn’t working and the clock was ticking while they were behind 2-3 scores all game.

Where is this stat. I asked in your thread. You ignored.

im not checked out but let’s say im not intense like in years of the past. I feel like McD has coached the dawg out of this entire team. We used to get “playoff caliber” “championship caliber” or “Super Bowl caliber” and things like that. We used to get talk of champions from leaders on this team. One quote that I have heard 3 times from Allen this season that sums it up for me how the season is going was something like “ there are no expectations this year, it’s not Super Bowl or bust. We are just going to play football.” that is loser talk. That is talk of people throwing in the towel. You can hear it in their words. You can see it in their unfired up mopey sideline posture. You can see it in their faces. Most importantly you can see it in their play. No dawg. No fight. I will say there was one drive from Allen against Miami where he was total dawg and gave it everything while the rest of his teammates were still just going through the motions. Unfortunately that ended in a turnover and the rest of the team kept playing like all they cared about was collecting a paycheck and going home. im not checked out but it sure feels like the team is.

I think it is as simple as he wasn’t a fan of the offensive direction of the team.

Mecole Hardman, Come on Down! (Signed to Practice Squad)

im not optimistic about this signing at all but maybe he can be good on scramble drills? It seems to me that this is what the offense doesn’t have this year that it had last year… someone Josh finds when he escapes the pocket and throws some miracle ball. -
Do you think the Chiefs would beat the Patriots as a 7th seed?

I’d rather root for KC honestly. That record to me is meaningless. It was fun watching our team go 4 years in a row. Not so fun watching those games. I don’t think that record is really that big of a deal. Maybe if we won at least one of them I might feel different. I dunno. personally I’d rather see the Pats get knocked out early than to see them at the top of the league after one year of new coaching staff. Either way, they are going to be a thorn in our side for years to come I guess. The coaching staff is legit. They have a legit QB. They have a lot to play with to improve their team for next year when they should face a tougher schedule. -
I was going to comment this same thing. I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed. probably also why Josh trying to make his magic happen when a play breaks down is not doing so well this year. also why people taking still shots of all22 crying “look he’s open” need to remember a dude might not even be in the progression.
-
Well... thats almost an improvement. Last year they were running routes into each other instead of into the other team lol.

This years MVS. Yippee. -
Yes. Even though this is the offense McD wants run, Brady will be used for a scapegoat.
-
I like Daboll for OC. Not for HC but for OC. Its not going to happen. Daboll and McD hate each other. Also, people need to realize that Brady is just running the type of offense that McD wants to be run. It's been what he has been trying to do since he got here. This is his idea of complimentary football. A phrase he has been saying since year 1.
-
Josh is far from the problem but it’s been more than one game that the offense has sucked.
-
Yeah it’s too bad the trading deadline has passed. We could have traded Josh and a first for Tua and Waddle. Oh, the OP was serious?

This staff doesn’t take every game seriously

im a sucker that thought Rex was going to be good for this team because how good he did with the Jets. It didn’t take me long to see how much of a clown that guy actually was after he got here. That dude was like a legit clown clown. I was never a Whaley fan though. -
I’ll never think it’s over with Allen at QB but I have no hopes for this season and I think this team needs a full reset. Too many bad contracts as much as I think McD is a good coach, I also think we need a new front office and coaching staff. It’s just getting stale. Coaches look for dawgs. McD actually coached the dawg out of Allen.
-
but they did turnover the ball. They turned it over because they were pressing. Both fumbles were them trying to get just a yard or two more after already having solid runs. The int was Josh pressing because there was nowhere to go. Miami also turned the ball over twice. they were pressing because they were stopped all game long. Miamis turnovers didn’t matter not because you want to call them arm punts but because they controlled the game through the entire game.
-
Well yes but I think Cook even pressed a bit today. He hadn’t really had any big runs. He lost focus on the ball fighting for an extra couple yards on an already good run. Josh did the same on his fumble. ironic thing is that Vrabel built the team McD has been trying to since he got here.
