  1. I really enjoyed the XFL. Continuity is key. They have started the last two times without much of a camp or preparation and play got better as the season went on. Some of the players would certainly do better if they got to be in the same system the following year. There’s plenty of guys with talent to play in the NFL, the extra coaching should be pretty valuable. I did not however watch the USFL but I would guess it’s a similar pool of talent.
I enjoyed the rule changes, most of all I enjoy hearing the play calls. If you watched the Houston Roughnecks you were treated to offensive coordinator AJ Smith. Unlike the NFL coaches can talk to the entire team in the XFL and communication does not shut off so they can talk all the way to the snap.
AJ smith could call the play, help line his players up, call out what he seen from the defense and what he wanted them to do if they blitzed etc etc.

I found that to be extremely helpful. Like Mcvay used to do with Goff, only we get to hear it all and the headset doesn’t shut off at 15 seconds or whatever it is. I will definitely watch another season if they continue letting us listen to the coaches during the game.

  2. I’ll stick with my dislike of Dorsey’s in game play calling. I’m happy they played a complete game and learned some lessons. But I refuse to get too hyped over beating up on the lowly raiders with their coach who won’t even play hunter Renfrow because he doesn’t fit the scheme. That team is a disaster waiting to be put out of their misery already.

  3. Miamis offensive scheme is humming right now.. But there are chinks in the armor. Tua hasn’t been touched this year. I would expect some slumps to trend at some point. Its quite a show when it is on like it is, so much to watch pre snap

  4. Loved the game plan much more today. Outside the first scripted drive the defense looked quite good. Milano with one of the coolest picks I’ve ever seen.
Run game.. run game.. run game. All 3 backs looked solid. Allen was pretty smart and rarely looked like he had to put on a cape and do everything.
Lastly a shoutout to Spencer brown, Crosby was pretty much a non factor and brown didn’t get as much help as I expected. Solid game for them to build on

Two of Josh's TOs were on back-to-back plays in the 4th quarter.  He doesn't make just ONE of those and the Bills win.

Agreed. But the run game is never going to work if they don’t dedicate some attempts to it. There’s a balance in there somewhere to protect josh from himself when he doesn’t have his A game. As a fan I’m not sure I will ever support Damien Harris out of the shotgun or split out wide as a receiver.
I joked in another thread dick Jauron probably wins that game if he coaches the second half. Run, run, and if it’s 3rd and short run again. If you get 3rd and long throw a screen or take the leash off Allen. A healthy dose of power run very well closes that game out if they get in any kind of run block rhythm.

The All-22 is going to be damning for Josh, I fear.

Pointing blame at Dorsey and coaching for this loss is misguided.

I gave you the disagree based on Dorsey and just my opinion that he should have tried to pound with Harris and Murray more in the third quarter. They signed them for this exact scenario I thought. Josh deserves his share no excuses for him.
But a good coordinator knows his quarterback is struggling and might try some other options and see if they have some success. Worst case you milk some clock and hopefully tire out that jet d line for the 4th.

  7. We have seen him play at an MVP level and maintain it through an offseason into the next.
He’s come out of the gate in some of his previous  years on fire and then slumped towards the end. Let’s hope this year is the opposite and he just gets better from here every week.
I am quite sure after all the hype, commercials and madden covers that Jets game is a bit of a rock bottom.
I think it’s in the best interest of the franchise and this season they take the ball out of his hands more until he’s playing under control.
Vegas is a good opponent to put more work into the actual run game and cut back the pass attempts. Last thing the team or fans need to see is Max Crosby lining up over Spencer brown for 40+ passing attempts.
Maybe one of y’all can email Dorsey some footage of the offenses here while Dick Jauron was coaching.
Run on 1st, no matter what run on 2nd.. 3rd and short you run again. 3rd and longs go make a play.
We hated it then, we need it now.

Murray over Harris was interesting. I'm of the belief Harris should be the starter and they should mix in Cook for a change of pace and Murray could be short yardage as needed

Yeah I expected Harris would get more work. But I expected they’d be under center with two tight ends a lot more as well. I totally misjudged the game plan as usual lol

Lol what game were you watching? 3.8 yards per, yuck

In cooks defense that stat sucks.. They ran him multiple times from that shotgun draw and there was literally nothing he was gonna do but take the loss.

Of those 22 at least 5-6 of them were Allen taking off, so they actually probably only called up about 16 run plays in a game they led all night.

Which is silly. I was yelling at the tv the whole third quarter to line up in power and use Murray and Harris. Josh had made enough plays to show he was not on his A game and the Jets had him confused and panicking. Run the ball, wear the defense down and kill some clock. This is basic football. You signed two backs for this very situation. Instead they used Harris as a receiver and I think Murray got one carry. That was my biggest takeaway from the game.

  10. I think it’s pretty easy to see there’s a direct correlation to dabol leaving and Allen starting this steady decline. Paired with zero run game, they finished with I think 22 rush attempts in a game they lead most of, which of course is bottom 10 in the league for attempts for the week. Allen is due for his criticism, he’s made it almost impossible to defend him at this point. But they’re not doing him any favors

  11. Plenty to be angry about tonight. But Beanes wins were out there tonight too.
Rousseau was dominating and looked like the best player on the field the first half, Floyd got the stats but Rousseau wrecked the game when he was out there.
Torrence managed to hold up pretty impressively for his first game against what’s considered a top D line imo
    Benford held up.
Epenesa made a play or two in his limited time.
Kincaid obviously impressed in his limited touches.
I get the negativity but let’s not just ignore some of the bright spots as we try and place blame on everyone.

  12. I don’t normally call or cheer for firings but his playcalling is bad. Dabol was bad sometimes too, I didn’t think it was possible to get a coordinator who would call runs less than Dabol, I’m no genius at designing an offense clearly but the actual in game play calls have been bad since day one. The just complete refusal to run the ball is maddening.

  13. I don’t know why he’s taking such a beating. He looked great tonight I thought. Usage might have been a little high, they didn’t exactly do him many favors running the same run play like 6-7 times out of the same formation. I wouldn’t expect him to get the tough yards and break tackles, I thought that’s why they signed Murray and Harris.
