Another statue bites the dust ...

On Friday, the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers also announced its intent to distance themselves from Smith and her rendition of the song.

"We have recently become aware that several songs performed by Kate Smith contain offensive lyrics that do not reflect our values as an organization," said the Flyers in a statement. "As we continue to look into this serious matter, we are removing Kate Smith's recording of 'God Bless America' from our library and covering up the statue that stands outside of our arena."

What on earth would we gain for mass piety?

It's only a matter of time before our anthem is stripped of us....

Our homeland pride is disappearing before our eyes,Gunner...you joined in '87..I left in '82...those "blood brother" days are tough to come by these days...

I was a "rubber stamp"....that group has thinned.

Burn my flag ,on my property ,in my backyard....and I will find a way to put you into hospitalization.

...so you employ people that you "don't know who you can trust"?........Chuckie better get Mueller on the horn...he's available...SMH....

Ha.The craziest part of his story...was when the Dolphins hired him.

P.S.- I remember Ditka sitting in a beach dress shirt in a presser after the trade.

    "We're done".

So if I'm reading things right about his past playing DE and OLB (in a 4-3) he could be depth for both Hughes and Lorax.

That could make him a pretty good depth guy.

We all know how much Beane and McDermott like the multiple position players.

He could also take over for Alexander on ST's. ..leaving lorax fresher for his full time defensive spot.

Hard to argue that list - the wings at Gabe’s Gate are some of the best in Buffalo, Mike Driscoll (Founding Father’s) will enlighten you his knowledge of history and trivia, and Swanee House is a classic.

Interesting that you’ve avoided the ChipStrip.

If I could just add a few,

    Eddie Brady’s

    The Tudor Lounge

    Essex Street Pub

    Cheers! ?

    .

Eddie is good people,I still have one of his old t-shirts dating back to when he opened up down there.FYI to the OP...don't let the small exterior shy you away...if you want to rub elbows with some cool, down to earth, local folks..that's your place.

Very good "pub " food as well....

Nothing like fresh - i really don’t liked the smoked stuff.  Hanzlian’s makes the best, IMHO.

I will be bowling early Monday (and drinking Krupnik and pivo) with the Pauline Fathers at Corpus Christi’s Sears St. Athletic Center (and bar), head to the Adam Mickiewicz Library (aka ‘Mickey’s), watch Eddie Dobosiewicz’s Dyngus Day Parade, then (there will likely be stops at R&L Lounge and Artie’s in between) head to Central Terminal to polka my dupa off!!!

    Na Zdrowie!!!! ????

    .

Good ole Airplane Eddie, the last time I saw him, he was chewing it up with Ronnie D and Wanda at the festival in Cheektowaga. She looked terrible,I think she may have passed on.

P..S.- Believe it or not..I have never had krupnik.

always good to see a bills fan bet against it's team with such certainty.

you could be right, but pounding your chest over it is kind of over the top there.

personally I'd love to see you lose.

no, I'm not that stupid to bet $1,000 they do get 12 wins anymore than I would be stupid enough to bet against them.

    have fun with it though

    GO BILLS!!!

I would like to see myself lose too...12-4 would get us the division and a home playoff game.

    Disappointing

The special teams improved on paper.Morse was a well needed upgrade in the middle...and Beasley was a great addition.

Keep in mind, other teams have made positive upgrades as well.

You know how it is...if you want the playoffs,be above .500 against division opponents..and go at least 6-2 in home games.

    Playoffs

I remember that 94 Detroit Thanksgiving game very clearly--the Lions were in some kind of a goofy long black socks with their (even at that time) retro tops, and I remember the Bills falling behind early, but then matching the Lions with Kelly tossing TDs for TDs the rest of the way--unfortunately, his last TD went the other way, and our D couldn't make any stops when they really needed to, so all of the offense coming back went for naught.

But in other news, the turkey still tasted great later that day, so there's that.

OJ had a very big day in Detroit on thanksgiving day..nearly 300 yards in rushing.

    73 or 74.

I'm not worried about the rotation; I think they'll be fine.

I am worried about Familia.  I"m hoping it's just the colder temps, but I don't know.  He looks absolutely horrible.

Lastly - I'm hoping someone here can talk me off the ledge on this one - Can Callaway pick a defensive gameplan and stick to it?  McNeil belongs in LF as much as I do.  If Davis can play left, put him out there; but if you want McNeil in the lineup, then you have to put him at 3rd.

He better not even think about putting Todd "Rah Rah" Frazier on the field.  He doesn't owe him anything and - I'm sorry, Todd - but you've been replaced by younger, better players.

Anyway - pick a lineup and stick to it.  Enough of the platooning bullhsit.  It doesn't fu*king work.

If Mick had a set..he would have benched Cano today and played Mac at second...just sayin.on the flipside I'm not sure a two day sit would do Cano any good..he stinks bad right now.

Friggin Broxton...right down the pipe.Alonso would have crushed that.

Oh well....two solid in a row for dream wheeler.
