I'm just wondering if people will be upset with a six game suspension as opposed to a 6 x 24 game suspension.

I don't think it will be 6 games, but I also do not expect it to be 144 games either.

Given the MLBs recent 2 year suspension of Trevor Bauer, it would be extremely difficult to only suspend him for 6 games and expect the public blow back not to be horrendous. As you have mentioned, the NFL is a corporation and cares about the bottom dollar. Having the public enraged, causing a loss of money and potential sponsors is also something they will consider.

Being that he cannot be placed on the exemption list, I personally think it should be an indefinite suspension until all cases are either dismissed, settled, or court proceedings are complete. Once all cases are complete, the league can then choose to reinstate or extend his suspension based on the findings. This would allow the league to show they are taking the allegations seriously, but would also allow Watson the ability to hit the field ASAP if it is found that the cases are without basis and are dismissed.

Question...He has three years left on his contract with New Orleans.  Since he was not fired, would there need to be compensation to NO if someone tries to hire him as their head coach?  Is he free to take another HC position?

Compensation would be required unless NO for some reason terminates his contract. Kinda like when Marshawn came back to the raiders but the Seahawks technically still possessed his contractual rights

Great point. Siemian and Hill should be enough to keep the game close. I won't be surprised if the Saints line up Hill and gash the Bills with the run.

Also, the Saints defense has been pretty good not withstanding the Eagles game. They get after the QB and by now we know that's the formula to beat the Bills. I don't see the Bills Oline holding off their pass rush.

Factor in home field advantage, Thanksgiving day, Saints coming off a bad loss, Bills won't run the ball, Allen isnt Allen of last year, and both sides of the Bills lines are subpar.

Folks, this Bills team is not elite. Last year was an outliner. I know I will get crucified for that statement. The Bills are above average at best.

Take the points! No way should the Bills be favored by 6.

You mean the same Taysom Hill that has 171 rushing yards on the season? Listen, I get it, the Bills were abysmal against the colts running attack, but lets not kid ourselves into thinking Hill is in the same stratosphere as Jonathan Taylor. The Saints Oline is also extremely banged up compared to the Colts line.

You can't factor in the Saints coming off a bad loss without also factoring in that the Bills are also coming off a bad loss. Allen has been more than capable this year. Yes, he hasn't necessarily been the guy we expected, but he also has not been some awful QB. I will give you that the lines leave much to be desired.

The Bills could very well lose this game, but lets not also ignore everything that is going in the Bills favor right now.

    - Saints trotting out Trevor Siemian

    - Saints missing potentially both starting RBs and will likely be starting a guy just coming off IR himself

    - Saints are missing their TE, their starting DE, and likely at least one OT

    - Bills have a clean injury report

    - In the games where Buffalo has disappointed this year, each of the following weeks they have covered the spread

The Bills have not been elite this year, they have shown flashes of it, but have also shown that when the wheels come loose, it can get ugly - just like several other top teams in the AFC.

Take this all into consideration and it isn't difficult to see why the line is Bills -6.

I trust that both Kamara and Ingram will be out, since Tuesday is like a Friday this week.

I say that tongue in cheek, because I heard that Payton likes to play games with the injury report and I don't actually expect them to be out.

I don't think Kamara plays but would be surprised if Ingram ended up not playing

It was reported that  Doyle was warming up on the sideline on Sunday, did he end up going in? Also, he’s a tackle, can he also play guard?

I would think the idea would be to slot Doyle in at RT and get Williams back to G.

The question would be is Doyle at RT going to be worse than Ford at G? I would think it would have been worth a shot to slot in Doyle at RT and give him a TE to chip his man or keep the RB in and help him.

Other teams are getting better. Rams making a push, and we do nothing to answer it. Our Oline is going to get smashed around. If we don’t trade then it’s just proof Beane doesn’t know when to make moves at the right time. Now is when you make those aggressive moves.

There have been a total of what, 3 or 4 trades? Its not like the entire league is making moves and the Bills are sitting on our hands.

I agree, the window is now to make a move and go for it, but Beane has proven he is not going to put the team in a long term hell situation for a short term gain and he's not going to get taken advantage of.

The Rams traded Marcus Peters last year and kept 3rd string RB John Kelly.  That means the Rams value a 3rd string RB and special teamer more than an All Pro running back.

The Pats traded Chandler Jones but kept Matthew Slater.  Therefore the Pats care more about a Special Teamer more than an All Pro pass rusher.

    You see how this works?

Ahh that clears it up, thanks for the clarification 🤣

Wyatt Teller would have zero impact. Now I know you’re trolling.

Mo Alexander made the team in 2019. Teller was shipped off in 2019.

I would prefer the opposite. Y’all want the best punt protect team in football. I want All-Pros anchoring our offensive line. We are not the same.

You do realize Wyatt Teller wasn't that good when we traded him, right? When we traded him he looked marginal at best, and could barely crack the starting lineup. Nothing indicated that he would turn into an all-pro. If we knew he would be an all-pro, do you really think we would trade him? The answer is no.

You act like the 3 or 4 ST only players that we roster are taking the place of pro-bowl players, when that isn't the case at all.

Come on man, I get you're frustrated that maybe they didn't make the moves you wanted them to make. But take a moment and look at it objectively. They money they are spending on these core ST guys was not going to give them the ability to sign any top tier guys. They were going to be guys that ended up playing teams anyway. So why not retain guys that you know excel at the position and provide quality depth?

    They should be developmental players.

You want more Maurice Alexander and less Wyatt Teller. Mo is out of the league. Wyatt is an All-Pro.

    I’d take the All-Pro.

For every Wyatt Teller example, I can give you 5 players that never developed like we had hoped. Should we roster guys like Ed Wang over a guy that we know can make an immediate impact in special teams?

Guys rarely go from marginal starter/backup to all pro caliber players. However, having a gunner that can routinely knock down punts or halt the opposing teams return game is extremely valuable.

In other words, STs contributed to ~20% of the total snaps we played. We waste cap space and roster spots on players that are dedicated STers

Ok, so lets take the $ aspect out of it and look at purely roster numbers.

    11 starters on offense

    11 starters on defense

So 22 total starters. Now, lets give each position a backup, we are at 44 players of 53. Add in kicker, LS, and Punter, 47. That leaves 6 players left on the 53. I'll even grant a 3rd qb. So 5 players left that are not starters or backups. What should those 5 players excel at in order to earn a roster spot? The easy and clear answer is special teams. Why roster 5 guys that are not going to see the field on O or D and have no value on teams?
