I just wanted to write this, after 20 years of being nothing.  It took drafting the best QB of his class, in the most hyped class in years, and a GM to put the pieces in place around him.

I don't think it's disputable, nor do I think it's a slam dunk verdict.  But on paper, the Bills are the best team in the league right now. The best offense, and a TRUE #1 defense - not the flimsy kind of #1 we had last year.

Obviously, the pressure is on now.  Being the best on paper isn't something that goes down in the history books. They have to cash in w/ the Lombardi.

But we are the best.  I just wanted to take a moment to say it & appreciate it.  We can beat anyone.

I think Bills were probably the best team in football last season but their coach is a coward at heart and cost the team a chance to win it all.

This year the Bills are once again a top team but there’s so much talent in the AFC that it’s tough to say that the Bills are clearly #1. I think Cinci is better tbh.

Yeah I think that's fair. Also think he won't be playing the same % of snaps he has the last few years. Should be selective in how we use him to hopefully get the most bang for our buck when it matters most.

Eg. Regular season games vs the Jets there's really no reason for him to play >50% of the snaps.

This is the situation where the DL rotation works most advantageous.

Yeah, I looked at his snap % and it hasn’t really dropped over his career, consistently 75-85%.

Reggie White was 32 when Green Bay signed him. Had 68 sacks in 6 years for Green Bay.

Reggie relied on power, Miller who is a speed/technique guy, so age may hurt Miller more.

I’ll be happily surprised if Miller can get more than 21 sacks in three seasons, which is way less production than Reggie.

You’re omitting important qualifiers …. Independent sources with direct knowledge of the events….

I said what I said.  It doesn’t equate to saying either 1) Donne is lying or 2) Dunne is making up sources, but it doesn’t equate to sources with direct personal knowledge, either.

We now return you to your regular ass laughing off sessions, Go For It.

Have you read the article? I noticed you didn’t answer that question.

Just a little note that folks have made upthread, the terms are sometimes used interchangeably, but a squib and a pooch kick are in fact different.

Just to be clear, I'm neither accusing Dunne of "creating sources" or of "lying".

But we don't know who his sources are, whether they are people who have direct personal knowledge of the situation or are recounting hearsay, or even whether they are people who have a personal interest in shifting the narrative.

A person can have actual sources and be correctly conveying what they were told by those sources, but their story is only as good as their sources.  This is, essentially, the "eyewitness" problem in criminal trials.

However, the fact that you converted what was said into an accusation of "creating sources" and "lying" speaks to the thinking process behind your beliefs, thus whether those beliefs should be considered credible.

LMAO…you said to keep in mind that Dunne is trying to sell a product and then said that he isn’t being held to the journalistic standard of two independent sources. Dunne has multiple independent sources.

    Have you read the article?

So the idea is that Farwell, the one who wanted to take time off the clock, communicated one thing to his kicker and something else to the rest of the ST unit (who were clearly running in a way that suggested they expected a kickoff return and were taken by surprise when it went through the end zone?

Therefore, after this screw-up by Farwell (not communicating the head coach's call correctly to the entire ST unit), he voluntarily decided to leave a championship contending team for a lateral move to a bottom-of-the-league team like the Jags

I don't know who Dunne's sources are so it's hard to evaluate, but this doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I think there are people on the Bills who know what happened, and they aren't talking, including to Ty Dunne.

    If you believe it.

Keep in mind Ty Dunne is trying to sell a product - his "Go Long" writing - and to do that he has to generate enough controversy to attract buyers.

That also means he is no longer held to the standards of more mainstream journalism like AP, which requires two independent sources with direct knowledge of the situation.

I believe Dunne. The way to build what he’s trying to build isn’t by creating sources and/or lying. And the story Dunne tells jives with what we saw happen…incompetence.

i know it stings, but I refuse to judge our defense based on the KC game. You wouldn’t have any complaints about it either had the coaches put the D in a better spot during the last 13 seconds.

edit: consider too— would Burrow or Stafford be able to escape 100 tackles and scramble like Mahomes? He cracks the code.

We’d all still have complaints if McChoke hadn’t happened. But it would sting a lot less.

I come here for many reasons.  I enjoy discussing our favorite team and the league that it plays in.  I enjoy reading different perspectives than my own (even though they’re all wrong if not aligned with mine, obv). I enjoy learning about prospects, schemes and football 101.  I enjoy discussing the draft.  I enjoy reading the same nonsense from the same idiots on a daily basis.   It makes me feel better about myself knowing that I’m not that stupid (regardless of what you might think 🤔).

This loss to the chiefs was unusually painful.  Worse than any loss I can remember, as a fan or as a participant. Pain.   I haven’t watched or listened to one second of sports talk/social media since.  Every time a buddy texts me about something sports related, my reply is the same: too soon.

That said, I can’t seem to stay away from tbd.  I’ve been coming here for just short of 20 years now and I enjoy it more often ever (thanks to 17, most of you guys pretty much suck).  Until this week.  This week has been pathetic.  Maybe I’ve been pathetic too, being unable to swallow anything sports related, but some of the takes this week….. good ****ing lord.  We have a great team that should have won the SB of not for

a bad coaching decision/s. Yet all I see is doom and gloom/nonsense spewing 🤮.  Yes it sucks that we lost, but don’t over think it. We’re a championship caliber team. We didn’t lose because Motor isn’t good enough.  We didn’t lose because Beane didn’t draft Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith (like I wanted them to).  We didn’t lose because our players aren’t fast enough. We didn’t lose because Tremaine edmunds sucks.  We didn’t lose because we don’t have a premier pass rusher. We didn’t lose because Cole Beasley didn’t get vaccinated.  Stop.  We lost because of a bad coaching decision/failed communications within our STs.  Not sure which, but that’s why we lost.  We had the game 95% won and then 13 seconds happened.  We’ll never know why we lost or what we could’ve done to ensure a win.  I know it’s a message board and this is what we do…..but it’s not enjoyable right now, for me anyways.  Act like you’ve been there before…..because most of you have.  I know it was a tough loss, but get it together tbd.

Creating a thread to complain that posters on a message board are making your experience less enjoyable than you want is some narcissistic BS.
