  1. Personally I think they should have KB and Deonte Thompson outside with Matthews starting in the slot. You have the speed guy in DT, the size guy in KB, and a tough matchup in the slot in JM. Zay can get in on 4-WR sets and then take over the slot next year when I expect they'll let JM walk.

That sounds pretty good, Jones can have a little more time to acclimate and develop. He broke records as a slot receiver in college and has been playing as a wideout mostly this year.

This is what I figured.......and that leaves them without much speed/quickness in a 3 WR set.

I think Matthews was probably gone after the season either way but I think getting Benjamin makes it far more likely because IMO you want to have Benjamin working on the same side as another receiver(Z) so you can run some route combinations to give him separation. The X position should be for your field stretcher, IMO.

Matthews ran 4.44 and his low 4.34. Jones ran 4.45 and his low was 4.38. That sounds pretty fast to me.

  3. Tom Brady has 16 TDs and 2 Ints.... None of the Pats recent "struggles" have ANYTHING to do with him, not even remotely. He has shown no sign of decline. Even then, TB at 80% of his peak is better than anything Jimmy Garrapalo will ever be. Niners got fleeced. Pats backups never do anything worth while in the league when BB cuts ties, going back to our buddy Drew... Bledsoe, Cassel, Mallet, Hoyer, Brissett, now Jimmy... JG hasn't shown any potential to really get excited about, not sure how he warrants what will be a top 40 pick. In short, I call all sorts of BS on these "rumors."

Week 17 JG will start for the Niners and get eaten alive, while Hoyer starts for the Pats and has a career day bc the Pats have the AFC locked up by "old man" Brady, 2 weeks prior.

bull ****. Here is another scenario, Brady gets injured and the Hoyer led Pats season goes down the toilet.

I did not read the entire thread, so excuse me if I repeat a thought, but I am sure that you all will torch me for the last part of my epiphany.

They were going to lose him at the end of the season--not worth the second contract. KB would demand a $55m contract. Not getting that here.

Now the part that will get me some turds:

    1. He reported to camp a bit overweight. Some of you pointed out that he got in shape by the beginning of the season. The offseason is to get better--not to get fat. KB should have been tweaking his game, not dieting and running sprints

    2. Cam is better without KB. Yes--I said it. in 2015, Cam spread the ball around nicely. I forget our record that year (sarcasm), but the team underperformed the year before and the year after. Hmmm.

    3. Our offense is a dud. KB is not getting open. He is running bad routes and is not hard to cover with 1 player.

Watch--our offense will open up with him gone. Trust me--addition by subtraction. NOT because KB sucks, but because he does not make others better. Our offense is slow and lumbering. KB had 8 games left and would be gone anyway. Funchess has been better, so...

A third rounder is not a bad trade---we got Olsen for a third rounder.

Folks--our offensive woes were not all OL--that is what you see on TV...Our big WRs are not getting open. I am not distraught about this--sorry.

This Car. guy is misinformed. Benjamin was not gone after this year, they picked up his 5th yr option for 8.5 mil and could have kept him if they wanted. I can understand the part about he and Funchess being very similar.

  5. i stopped reading after you started to sound stupid.

Of course i judge. It's a god damn football message board.

I am kind of a little bit smart in the football. And I know the Panthers well. Soooo, I don't know what else you said because I like my IQ north of 130... But seriously. Relax. Don't do it. When ya wanna come.

Oh. And judge me all ya want. Just know I'm an idiot and you're dancing for me..

    I suggest an IQ contest!

  6. I hated the contract they gave him and said so at the time, but trading him to a fellow afc playoff contender (and Doug Marrone)for only a small salary cap relief this season doesn t feel like a win to me. This could have waited til after this season imo. The Bills will still be hit with a large dead cap hit this season and next.
