I'll admit it.  I'm cynical when it comes to people that are always trying to "help" other people.  In general I think everyone acts out of their own self-interest.  So if somebody I don't know wants to help me I usually start thinking about what's in it for them?  I think that's how all this activism stuff works.  What it comes down to is "its all about the money!"

I've concluded all these professional activists are a subset of liberal arts graduates that clearly understand they can't make a comfortable living wage doing anything productive in the private sector.  So rather than live a subsistence level lifestyle they turn to professional activism as a career that will pay a decent wage through government grants and programs, and funds voluntarily or involuntarily "donated" from private sources.  This could just as easily apply to the political class too.  They're always on the look out for people to "help" or a cause to take on.  Causes are the lifeblood of the activist industry.  But the key is well-funded causes.  Moving from cause to cause as the funds to support one cause or another dry up and become available elsewhere.  Now the top career move is fighting systemic racism.

These are people media stooges interview on TV at protests to tell the stories of oppression.  Disguising it as if they're interviewing some average person in the target community when in reality they're talking to some professional out-of-town activist that flies in for the event.  And the flies out after the protest to go elsewhere to another protest or back home.  All expenses paid.  Its the same couple hundred activists everywhere.  Watch and learn.  When the money runs out for the cause of the day they'll be on their merry way to another fully funded problem.

The fact the target audience may not want help or doesn't buy their narrative is not important.

i agree with some of this. there will always be paid instigators that can derail good intentions to propagate a negative narrative. the issue is its always going to be hard to determine whether this is true or are activists just saying this is the case to overlook that they truly are providing cover for them. if the saboteurs aren't immediately being called out by those who are providing cover then they are doing exactly that..providing cover. so i don't see the difference with those two groups because they constantly give bs excuses for efforts that destroy the original messege as much as anyone who opposes it could, but under the cover of being on the activist side which is far worse.

whites interrupting a peaceful gathering of black people to talk about the violence they face is sickening. period! which ever side your on.

as for liberal arts. people need to recognize college is a buisness like any other. they hold no responsibility to anyone that they are actually offering something of worth and will create any and all disciplines from thin air to accomplish more tuition. 18 year old kids will take the path of least resistance. if i can be "guaranteed" a good living while also being able to virtue signal I'm a good person, take my money. its time the colleges degrees are looked at what for what is the actual worth of the crap they offer. that should be represented fully before those loans are taken. because yes alot of anger and frustration will result when at the end of 4 years you are holding a paper in debt with no logical use for the skill you were promised was a correct path.

  2. if theres one topic that made me turn my back on the democratic party its the way they have unapologetically supported identity politics to push their agenda.

ive come on here to specifically fight against it. why? because i feel i have a somewhat unique experience of a white man who grew up in a predominantly black community. who had black neighbors, class mates, teachers, principals, bosses...all my life.

ive gone to the inner city schools that have "no hope for success". ive been a minority in many situations. i came out the other side with life long friendships. with families that break bread together. people, not BLACK people that ive known since childhood. we celebrate each others accomplishments and support each other in failures. i also learned early bigotry exists in every society..regardless of skin.

whether you believe me or not im telling all the unapologetic liberals out there you are on the wrong side of history. i have tried debating these issues logically and critically with a open mind. check my post history and tell me where you disagree. i stand on my words, as sloppy as they are. but every time met with, whataboutism, goal post shifting, or plain and simple avoiding the subjects.

stop promoting this bullshi++. call it out for what it is..division and segragation! lets get on the same page so we can demand these teachers that have time for this use it on positivity. lets hold those in power accountable to do things that will actually make a difference in ALL young people who need help, economically or in families. why so much focus on negatives..to children no less. THIS is why there is so much pushback. communities can unite for positives, instead of bitchin on keyboards.

maybe thats too idealistic. positivity? unity? foundations like trade intros to see what direction they may take. alot of money and alot of need for little or no cost. playing games with old plcs to build their own makeshift robots. thats my specialty and could easily design a class for kids to get fundamentals started. everyone gets a chance at being the boss and eveyone KEEPS the money they can earn with games where they sell cookies or crafts and have games to manage money/employee roles ect ect.

no no much more important to talk about brutal history and roadblocks that will stand in the way because of other children skin. more important in this polarized climate then building skillsets and occupying time. talk about woke? no its time to wake the f up!! you keep your children learning about structures. ill take mine out and have him and all his classmates participate in building them for something like a playground they can use to make friendships on. see which lesson gets these kids a head start on being prepared in this world to change there outcome.

see you at the next board meeting! 😉

Close agencies and cabinet departments that we don’t need because they assume responsibility for policies that should be under state and local governance (like the Department of Education).  Take some of that money and significantly increase the number of agents and electronic surveillance on the border.  Forget the wall because it’s ridiculous.  And to really control it start putting employers who hire illegal immigrants in jail.

i think thats the point. erode immigration laws to provide corporate donors cheap labor that has no protections of a legal residents and fight against voter id laws so you can gain more power. both have been supported by one another.

all wrapped up in a nice package called empathy to get the publics support.

    win win for all involved.

people should ask themselves. trump wanted to stop illegal immigration but what did he or his party stand to gain from that stance other then being relentlessly attacked as a racist? keep in mind every single american president in our history also stressed boarder security until now.

numbers? no i dont do research papers on here anymore. it routinley showed to be a waste of time. so instead.

did you watch television this year? did you see how many black police chiefs mayors were african american? did you go to college, check how many loans and grants are specifically designated to underprivlaged minorities? do you work? doesn't your place have a diversity quota implemented for affirmative  action?

i say you can just look around you but don't know where you live or background. i need to look no further then my boss who just told me to get off my phone and get back to work 😡

The same could be said of so many white people who expend tremendous energy to fight for the idea that racism has no effect in America, and America owes no one anything to make amends for the harms of racism.

havent seen that at all. there are plenty of programs that have been instituted. afimitive action. special loans and grants. your stereotyping what the discussion is about.

Ever since reading The Bell Curve I wanted to ask Charles Murray a hypothetical: If white people had been stolen away from European by the millions and held captive in slavery in Asia for hundreds of years, and during that period it was illegal for them to learn to read the native language, how would that population would fair on IQ tests and in schools in the Asian language once it was legal for them to learn to read to attend school?

And if the white population performed at a significantly poorer rate than their Asian counterparts, would that prove that Asians are inherently smarter than white people?

to further look at your claim we again look at immigrants. not only not knowing how to read or write, english!...outside any classes they have taken. also having to learn american customs (reading from left to right ect ect) while navigating a brand new, never before seen landscape away from everyone and thing they have ever known... i think that at the least is equal playing field to your assertion of past racism effects yet somehow not only doing well in school, but being successful in american society. all colors and nationalities regardless of background.

at some point you have to relook at your ideas and say maybe there are more factors then what you think. my guess is that you don't want to because it would bring you to a conclusion you do not want to investigate.

You probably don't actually want to hear anything I have to say.

I'll start to explain myself, and then 12 angry righties will only respond to just one part that they try to twist into being wrong while ignoring every way anything I said could be right.

Then they'll call me a racist for insisting that there are still racist aspects of our society that didn't magically disappear in 1954.

Then they'll further insist that I'm racist by equating black people with criminality.

Then they'll insist that I'm racist by telling me that black people are on welfare...

well your talking to me and i am for honest debate. its easy to ignore someone who you don't think is making a good point. in our last descussion i took what you said and some things made sense. maybe we don't agree but i think with you its worth the effort which is why i engaged in the first place.

I think most white people benefited from racism. Most through no fault of their own.

And I think you guys either intentionally or unwittingly conflate that idea with the claim that all white people are racist. They are not the same thing.

    You're a sock puppet.

    so explain yourself.

there have been plenty of grade school teachers who are on video doing exactly what you say people are overreacting to and the only reason it is known is because classes have been on zoom. please do some research outside your comfort zone for a start.

at the very least parents should have the right to opt out of ANY classes that is offered. yet that is not happening..repeatedly.

i grew up in buffalo NY inner city school systems. i know exactly what being a minority is and can state racism exists in ALL cultures...but I'm a oppressor so i guess i deserved anything i got..so say crt professors. i learned everything about the civil war, redlining, jim crow and even kwanzaa. the objective of what i learned was to treat others on content of their character. all of a sudden its to judge on color of skin again, and that's something you advocate for? openly!?

its almost as if some people went to backwoods school system where history was whitewashed. sorry that happened if its you but that only means those systems need to teach HISTORY..all of it. not some theory based on skin.

this civilization was founded on european systems. every "race" has gone through its horrific periods. irish, italian, japanese ect ect ect. pretty convenient people who have gone through struggles are all lumped as "white" eradicating any brutal history and those who succeed "asian" are now white adjacent to pay a price for that hard work and negate any narrative that "non whites" can somehow be successful in this corrupt supremacist society.

so lets flip the narrative. can i move to mexico and point out crt on how their structure is built against me? why must i learn mexican to be successful? why must i dress in their customary clothes and live by the laws they built apon. its against me as a minority? obviously slavery was ugly and a far worse situation unrelatable, but the principals i state are the same as what americans are calling "structural racism"

i also want a full investigation into fauci involvement in gain of function.  who was dropping bricks off at protest. where blm money was coming from and has gone. governors that FORCED covid + into nursing homes. ect ect ect. these are just as important. but if the media ignores it, it must not be.

the list is long yet the only out cry is for 1/6 investigations which actually got a reaction. it gets media attention. noone seems to care about the crimes from the other side since the media brushed it off.

Hey, that's much more insightful than the other explanations suggested on my question about what stopped the "insurrection".

    They got tired.

    Trump told them to stop.

Their bus was leaving in 30 minutes.

Maybe magic happy times fairy dust was sprinkled down on the Capitol that day to stop the insurrectionists too?  The lengths big oppressive government advocates will go to deny the reality that our government has gone off the rails appears endless.  And sadly whether you advocate for them or not they are out to screw us all just the same.

last night a lawyer that represents alot of the people arrested for 1/6  was on tim pools podcast. he says he is digging in to get the answers and they will come out at the trials. there may be more info given. journalist that actually do their jobs have confirmed there were agents embedded within the protestors and all extra security was denied by the mayor.

if anyone says the whole situation is not highly suspect is fooling themselves for a department that has complete freedom to monitor phones and e mails of its citizens to be "caught by suprise" when plots were OPENLY shared on social media.

either a plot of insurrection was "missed" and the institutions cited to "protect  us" are at the very least inept at their primary job or this was allowed to happen for other reasons..one of these IS TRUE.

so the depatment of homeland security gets advocates to gain more powers a higher budget and more jurisdiction. the democrats WILL be using this repeatedly as a topic well into the 2022 elections and new boogeymen to pit each other against..make sure you keep your eyes on your neighbors..it could be them!

so the next question besides "why they stopped?"

who benefited? it certainly wasn't republicans. 🤔

anyways im probably being flagged and watched for this post so ill stop here before my door gets kicked in and my family taken off in a van.

heres the podcast that may have more info if you got time to hear the whole thing i didnt listen to it yet.

some unbiased journalists are beginning to ask question...more to come

    id subscribe to both.

There a lot of of holes in the insurrection narrative regarding the Capitol building on 1/6.  The biggest one is a simple yet important question.  I've scoured the media for anything that might provide an answer.  I can't find anything that meets such criteria.  In fact I haven't even seen the question asked.  I've thought this through for a while.  The question is this:

What stopped the insurrection from succeeding on 1/6?

To set the stage there was a crowed of approximately 500,000 protesters reported.  Of that crowd about 900 were said to enter the Capitol.  So a little less than .2% of the crowd participated in the lawful and unlawful entering of the Capitol.  I say lawful and unlawful because reports suggest about 1/2 of the protesters entering the Capitol were "invited in" by the Capitol Police.  So about .1% committed a crime of trespass.

So the alleged idea was through any means necessary to:

    1) stop the 2020 election results from being certified by Congress

    2) stop the transition of power to the new administration

So who and what stopped this from happening?

It wasn't the military.  There were no active units deployed or engaged.

It wasn't the national guard. Congressional leaders informed of potential trouble ignored those warnings and declined the offer of the guard.

It wasn't the DC police.  They didn't have jurisdiction.

It wasn't the Capitol Police  They had a regular contingent of officers on duty that day and were ill prepared for the crowd or any potential trouble despite warnings.

It wasn't members of Congress from either party.  Reports suggest they were all hiding and running from the building.

Given there was no organized resistance to this armed insurrection loaded up with AR-15s, hand guns, explosives, all kinds of weapons (that's the story being peddled, right?) what stopped them from locating, finding, chasing down, capturing, injuring, or killing any or all representative or senators that they were targeting?  As there was little or nothing to stop them.

Magically, with nothing in the way of achieving their "planned" objectives" it appears they just decided to turn around, leave, and go home.  All without any reasonable explanation.  From anyone, anywhere.  That doesn't sound like the behavior of armed insurrectionists bent on "over-throwing" or disrupting the mechanisms of government.

This is like the Greeks hiding in the Trojan Horse, stealing out of the horse in the dead of night, opening the gates of the city, then leaving and headed home.  But we know that didn't happen.

Or like Antifa breaking through the perimeter of the Federal Court House in Portland and then turning around to head back to their mom's basements.  While we are all pretty confident they would have ransacked, destroyed, and burned the building to the ground given the chance.

But these "Trump" insurrectionist" with nothing in their way to stop them from achieving their objectives just decided to forget about it all and just leave and go home.  Simply excepting defeat after all the time and effort "planning" the attack and trudging all the way to DC just to leave empty handed.  Logic would conclude the insurrection narrative is complete BS.  But logic and Washington politics are mutually exclusive concepts.

    good analysis and interesting question.

    thats not seen alot here.

the only thing that happened was the death of babbit. as shown by much of the video i think alot of people were swept up in mob mentality. the gunshot and her death is the only thing that might of snapped alot of the people into reality on how serious this was. as you pointed out, some police invited them in. id have to think that seeing someone shot would turn attention towards her recieving help and scare anyone off that was not intending on truly overthrowing  our government.

I would disagree that the largest gap is at QB. Allen was very close to Mahomes statistically last year and while I think Mahomes is better there are other positions with larger gaps. Particularly at TE. I think Kelce allows them to exploit defensive matchups that we cant because of his versatility. Beyond that their defensive line was much better than ours.

Im not sure if you swap Mahomes and Allen last season the result of the AFC Champ would be different.

good take. id say its our D and offensive line that has to make the leap to catch up to KC, not qb. if we could hold off the kc onslaught and take advantage of any mistakes...fumbled punt then we win the game. D couldnt handle the speed so we were stuck in zone where kelsay can dominate. i think our cbs just dont have speed to play man and that was not addressed so the coaches are going for D line to make the ball come out/ pressure to negate it. hopefully our run blocking improved. wait and see.

I did miss that... I really don't like the distraction this is causing, but calling for him to be cut because of his emotional comments is an emotional reaction at this point.

My hope is that he comes to his senses and realizes that playing in the NFL requires tremendous sacrifice. And that the amount of discomfort and restriction from the protocols he's subjected to is minute compared to what many other professions endure, and certainly minimal compared to being deployed overseas.

I really wish he had stuck to his guns when he said he'd be back on social media next year. I don't like potential this has to turn into a greater distraction... At the same time, he has the right to use his platform to say whatever he wants...

When the rubber hits the road is if / when he actively flaunts the protocols and his actions, not his words, are in violation of NFL Covid policy. At that point, it stops being about his freedom and becomes about him being a literal danger to his team.

No, it has nothing to do with him not taking the vaccine and everything to do with him telling the NFL he refuses to follow the rules for vaccinated players.

cant argue with that take at all. strange how when i interact with you you seem like a logical guy. then i see some of your posts in the political thread and they seem...different. lol maybe who your talking to changes things. anyways i also see the take he should shut up about his "personal decisions". i doubt anyone has that take for the vac selfies. that too is a personal decision i respect but because its "the right thing to do" it gets applauded instead of condemned.

at the end of the day its good cole is putting his decision out there to be known. make it known where you stand and accept the consequences. hes doing it now, before the season so its not a distraction. the league and him can handle it and come to a conclusion before camp and the bills are better off having this on the table rather then something popping up mid season. i have zero issue with that and not sure why anyone else would.

  15. its so strange to see the takes on these players many are exact opposite from what i think

oliver is solid. it can't be discounted he was asked to play 1 tech last year which is not his body type or works to his strengths.  a 3 tech whos able to explode and penetrate. still performed admerably. my biggest concern is we did not draft or get a true 1 tech backup. star is it. if he goes down we are once again asking oliver to fill in, lose the "important" splash stats and have many people declaring bust. hopefully phillips is developing into a solid 1 tech and is the reason they neglected a important role in the D scheme that are 1 injury away from losing. effecting the entire D success.

cody. i agree with this one. he will never be a tackle and put most our lack of run game, not on our backs..but poor blocking. i find it pretty strange that the one true strength we had was our tackles and yet we went heavy on tackles that really have no chance to convert to guards in the draft. maybe we can push our tackles inside if our interior struggles again but they wont like it and putting rookies on the outside is going to be rough no matter how you slice it. hoping the interior is vastly improved for run blocking.

singletary. alot of people have issue with his home run speed. i dont and dont think the coaches do either. see above why i think our run game stunk. what i really think matters is Singletarys blocking. its why he beefed up so much this offseason. he HAS to improve it or he will get pulled/less plays under moss. hopefully his dedication to improving his weakness has not effected his strength, quick flinch reaction change of direction

knox..again i think coaches are more concerned about his blocking. hopefully he works on any drop issues and has improved rout running but. i believe the coaches are more concerned about his blocking and why they are interested in a well rounded vet so much.

my 2 cents on the players

true. another good start is unionizing these giant corporations. could be a start to offering better wages and benefits. atlanta had their offer but voted unionization down so i guess they like what amazon is offering outside of representarion, yet aoc and people on message boards declare they know whats best and advocate the job is not even offered to begin with.

    and I'm the illiterate drunk?

    have a good one.
