Tough way for the season to end in one of their poorest performances. Just sloppy.

I bet they make the NIT. Which I guess is better than nothing. They did have some good wins this season, but they're not an ncaa tournament team yet

Just not a good team.  Complete lack of effort on the boards.

They're nowhere near good enough to be a tourney team.

Agree. Quite obvious watching them tonight. They're terrible at defense, can't move the ball around on offense, someone just trys to drive the ball every posession. I'd just give it to bell and let him shoot 3's all night

  3. For a million dollars, it's a good deal, but what is the steelers long term plan? Let's say russ gets them to 10-7, they won't have a high draft pick to draft a qb, and russ is on the backside of his career. I wouldn't exactly be pumped if I was a steelers fan. This seems like it could set them back in the long run, but what do I know

  4. I think it's way too much of a coincidence that his production dropped off after Brady took over. I think something changed schematically that caused his drop in production. Obviously it worked to some degree because they were the 2 seed and had greatly improved after Brady took over. Obviously the drop in the kc game was huge, but I do believe there is something to getting in a rhythm, and he hadn't been in one for sometime at that point. I think he bounces back just fine next season, especially if they load up with weapons. They need a number 2 receiver badly. I feel like we haven't had one in 5 years

Draft some and bring in some that proved they can play at the NFL level.

Trent Sherfield never did. Neither did Harty. DJ is not the same as those dudes and neither was John Brown.

To put John Brown, who signed a modest FA WR contract, and put up solid numbers as a #1 WR, in the same category of Trent Sherfield, who signed a near vet minimum deal, and had a career receiving total of like 800 yards over 5 seasons, just demonstrates a lack of understanding WR talent and their impact.

Brown was a good bridge #1 wr. That's why I lumped him in with the others and said "to some extent". The point was, the bills seem to do this every year to a degree, and at the end of the day, we always seem to need wr help. It doesn't help that the bills have never drafted a wr in the 1st since beane and McDermott took over. I think we're essentially arguing the same thing, I just want the bills to think outside the box this year

What past mistake have the Bills had for 5th and 6th round picks? Tanner Vallejo?

Not speaking of draft picks in particular, just signing re treads. Harty, sherfield, sanders, John brown (to some extent). Let's draft some good receivers. I'm not opposed to getting a guy in free agency or via trade, but I want a guy who can have an immediate impact. Sign a guy like D-Hop and I'll be excited. He can come in and immediately make a difference in the offense

  7. To the people that think this is bad, go back and look at the comments when we signed Poyer and Hyde. Nobody thought those 2 would end up being what they were. Beane and McDermott arnt gonna sign a guy unless they think they can have an impact. Obviously it doesn't ALWAYS work (sherfield and Harty) but generally speaking, I trust beane and McDermott to know what they're doing. Nobody thought Bernard was gonna be good at middle linebacker, yet somehow every season we keep winning. So, let it play out

    A great move by Beane.

However, I have to give Von some credit here. He was under no obligation to restructure or take a cut. Yet my gut feel is that he knows he has vacuumed up a substantial portion of our cap over the past two seasons with not much to show for it. I suspect this is is his way of making amends. I like it.

Also his incident this past season with his gf or whatever, with litterally no re percussions. Good on him though. Team first
