We dont even know if the defensive woes are on Frazier or McDermott. For all we know McDermott was running those terrible defensive formations we saw Sunday
-
McDermott frequently says that players have to "earn" their playing time. While I agree to an extent, I also think it's an old school mentality. If you have a young, fresh buck with talent that can help your team, you play them
-
Someone on wgr this morning made a good point. They basically said teams like kc and Cinci offense dictate how a defense plays against them and that the bills offense is dictated by how the defense is playing. Basically saying, the bills offense needs to be pro active, not re active
-
Yes, doomed, as in they're not gonna get to the superbowl with this offense against these teams doomed
-
I'm not on the fire McDermott train. I'm not even on the fire Dorsey train (yet), but this offense was set up to fail from the beggining. We won 14 games, so obviously this team is good, but once they got to the playoffs, this team was doomed. They draft Shakir, who had a great game early against the steelers. Then they basically keep throwing mckenzie out there while Josh is sailing passes 5 feet over his head on the sideline, rather than keep Shakir out there to get game experience and reps. On top of that, rather than get Hodgins on the active roster, a taller receiver who probly could've made those high passes, they let him walk and re sign brown and beasley way too late in the season. Davis Imo is still a good weapon, but after you take him and Diggs out of the game, the bills are left with nothing. And frustratingly, the bills never changed this the entire season. Hey, maybe you play the guy you drafted to be here the next 4 years (Shakir) and not mckenzie who's had little impact on the offense. I haven't even mentioned cook, who was basically benched after he fumbled his first carry. OK, well bass was terrible when he first came in and they stuck with him and now he's one of the best kickers in the nfl. Cook will be good, but maybe don't bench him and give him no carries for 3 games, or however long it was. All of the fans worries and woes with the offense this season was 100% warranted. The whole "doesn't matter how we win as long as we win" is not true Imo. Sadly, what we saw on Sunday against the Bengals was inevitable. Even if we snuck past the benagals, it's likely we lose to kc. It's frustrating because I feel like the coaching staff could've changed things earlier in the season. Like say after Green Bay. Maybe they should've taken a good hard look at why the offense had these long in game droughts. Lastly, I know there's mixed opinions on how Diggs acted Sunday, but I wish he had done it earlier. Like week 8 maybe to help fix the offensive woes. I give them credit for winning 14 games, but I hate to say I believe the bills over achieved this season. Sorry to make this so long, just had to get some stuff off my chest

13 Seconds Will Sting for a While Longer...
Steptide replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
If it makes anyone feel better, today is the one year anniversary of 13 seconds. In all seriousness though, today is not nearly as bad as a year ago today. That litterally took me a full week to get over. I'm bummed the bills season is over, but I'm not shocked at the result of yesterday. I think we all knew deep down, that game was coming -
Bengals will be the team to beat for years to come
Steptide replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think unfortunately we're all gonna see just how terrible our defense played yesterday when the Bengals and kc play this Sunday. I don't think the Bengals get past kc. I think it'll be a close game, but I don't see the Bengals just having their way on offense. I think the bills really blew an opportunity yesterday. Ravens held them to 17 points on offense, and were tied until that stupid fumble. Plain and simple, the bills just really blew it -
Beane and McDermott are not the issue, though ultimately they're in charge. Frazier and Dorsey need good hard looks. Is it them, or is it some of the players on the field

Good o lines make a world of difference

Don't think it was the weather, but I do wonder had the Hamlin injury never happened and the mnf game got played, how today's game would've went. Would the bills have been better prepared having played them once already
-
Yes! Dallas fg, here we go

Elliot sucks

Josh looked really defeated in his press conference.

Lots of hot takes will happen this week, but I feel like the bills forgot how to have fun this season. Everything kinda felt like a struggle. Gotta get back to playing loose and just having fun -
Definitely possible, still think the 9ers can beat the eagles, assuming they win tonight
-
Yes, yes and yes? Though I don't agree we need 3 new wr's. We need a solid number 2. Diggs, a solid 2, Davis and Shakir and maybe a veteran. And we need Hyde back with a better safety, or Poyer if we can re sign him
-
Take a long hard look at offensive and defensive play calling and decide whether it can be fixed with the current coaches or if it's time for a change (I'm pretty certain they'll do this anyway). Go heavy offense in the draft, o line and wr's. Re sign veteran players at reasonable cost if possible. Case and point, this team doesnt need a massive overhaul. There is a ton of talent on this team. They just need some upgrades, and maybe some upgrades on the coaching staff

Rebuild? Cmon. This team is a few adjustments away from being a championship team

Please go for a fg dallas

Game plan on offense and defense today was terrible on both sides of the ball. Still don't understand why the bills offense never seems to switch things up. Did we see a single play action pass today? Or a designed screen? Or any kind of creative run with singeltary or cook? Allen had (2?) deep shots today vs 60 deep shots last week. I mean, just a little creativity please

Go 9ers. Cowboys fg kicker is horrible
-
I’m over this defensive scheme. Bring in a new DC.
Steptide replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Whatever the defensive game plan was today, was absolutely horrendous -
This draft should be 95% offense. O line and receivers

Who are you rooting for next week? Cincy or KC?
Steptide replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ya I get that, but seeing Kelce run wide open in the middle and Mahomes hit him on one good leg..... 🤮 -
