..'eff pro sports and starting with the NFL, a follower since 1962....after a tough week at work, I want to watch some football with a brew, bourbon and some chow.......NOT interested in their aggrandizement and political statements.....a current culture cave in.....now I just look up box scores on Monday mornings at ESPN ......

You’re not alone in that thinking and it is reflecting in ratings and profit.  They can say it’s COVID, but they know.  We’ll learn a lot about the NFL’s social justice efforts when it’s cast against net profits, shared earnings and corporate sponsorships.  If you’ve ever shaken hands with Mr Goodell, you know what motivates him.

My hope is the players can keep the important issues afloat and distinguish them away from the nonsense.  There’s tremendous good here, for players to use their platform and money to help the communities they came from, be better.  Tre White is a perfect example of grace and humility.

Football is next.  The ugliness of basketball was on full display when people came out in droves to celebrate Jonathan Isaac’s knee injury for expressing his faith in God and the importance of loving each other, rather than following his peers and virtue signaling.

Fortunately, we’re already seeing this in the NFL with the Pittsburgh fiasco.  The NFL is very much like Hollywood.  A small group is decidedly more vocal than the mass and they think this intimidation factor will carry.  Thankfully, unlike Hollywood, the large percentage of well-respected black players, coaches and personnel that are beginning to raise concerns or even oppose virtue signaling is growing and it sure is going to make it hard for the loud talkers to label them as racist.  I have a lot of faith in these players and I love the true investment in togetherness.  Putting a criminal’s name on the back of a helmet to increase the martyr factor...  Not so much.

I believe from people I’ve talked to, this is going to backfire.

How are you guys falling for nonsense like this? So much "they" and "the left" in this thread.  I want to ask a few questions:

    1. Have you heard anyone in real life talk about this?

    2. Had you head of blackspot before this?

    3. Why does 1 twitter account with 65k followers (of whom many are likely bots) get to be the voice of "the left"?

This is just one of those things that a small minority pushes forward and the other side gets their pitch forks out for.  With how much the Dems have done that over the last 4 years how can you be so blind when the right does it?

I am amazed at the things people here will fall for as if they are actually happening or an actual thing to be worried about.  Please google and dig instead of just getting angry.  You guys are up in arms about a bunch of improv jazz artists.  Think about that for a second.

Here is what google brought me:

    https://heavy.com/news/2020/09/adbusters-white-house-siege-september-17/

Since first announcing the siege in July, Adbusters has changed how the siege is going to work. It’s now promoting 50 days of nonviolent improv jazz on street corners and in front of federal buildings all over the country. This is the new focus, rather than a siege in front of the White House, according to Adbusters’ website.

The website refers to this as a “carnival of joyful resistance” in their Tactical Briefing

Probably because the media has referred to over 2 billion dollars worth of riot damage as “mostly peaceful”.  Also per your admission “Google brought you there”.  The same google currently being investigated by the DOJ for their shady tactics and compromised stance of operating with impunity?

Want to have some fun testing this out?  Watch Biden’s train wreck town hall and google the same speech to see the reviews stating it was a show of “excellence”, “poise” and how “on-point” he was.  If you can look at that objectively, then you’ll see the massive disparity between what Google wants you to see and what is honest.

Also, have you noticed that not a single left-leaning Democrat (not the moderates like myself) denounced the rioting or destruction until the polls said otherwise?  If there’s any truth to these events being funded (which I’m not suggesting one way or the other), it would stand to reason that this event was canceled because of how it would negatively affect the polls.  Just my opinion, but those dots seem to align nicely.

Some of these players get it.  They’re seeing through all of the virtue signaling.  I deleted a post I shared from some conversations around the league because they were confidential in nature (and I had no business sharing them, regardless of my good intentions).  But the more we engage these coaches and players the more we see that they are intelligent men that aren’t comfortable with a unity message turning into celebrating those who have been lost amidst criminal affiliations and activities.  My message to Mr Rose’s mother, as plainly as I can say it, is The accountability you are now looking to hold over the Pittsburgh Steelers, was the accountability you should’ve held over your son and his choices.  I’ve said that message many times over to parents of players I used to coach.  We have to be accountable for the choices we make, regardless of the outcome.

Now imagine if almost 200,00 Americans died for no good reason and our leader shrugged his fat shoulders and said simply that it is what it is.  And you support that loser.  Sad!

Hoax!  200,000 died because China.  Our leader is the only one pissed about it.  And his shoulders look kinda slim these days.  And not only do I support that winner, but you referred to him as “our leader” which means you’re now officially out of Billstime and Wacky Zebra’s super secret boy band. You sewed your own poison, deuce!

Why paint them all with a broad brush? I think I'm showing here that violence is endemic to the force. In addition to their assaults and killings of the public, they're widely known for killing people's dogs, widespread abuse of drugs and alcohol, and rampant domestic abuse. Two studies found  that 40% of families of police officers experience domestic violence.

So, you've got bullies, murderers, domestic abusers, animal killers and addicts whose job it is to decide who broke the law and whether or not they deserve to die and then you've got the "good guys" that turn a blind eye to this behavior, condone it, or actively support it, when two terrorist cops in Buffalo resigned their post over the suspension of their "brothers".

Why do I paint them with a broad brush? Because it's a goddamn terrorist organization they've all willingly chosen to be a part of. If there was any such thing as a good cop, they'd have resigned already. They sold their souls for a gun and a badge.

You’ve never experienced an ounce of what you wrote, or you’d have experiences to share that support your extreme hatred.

  9. Bull is the most dangerous kind of stupid.  It’s the kind that doesn’t seek to learn.  Rather, googles things that fit his narrative and extends them out as if they were Indisputable facts.  He’s never took part in an actual police academy, or any act of public service that extends into the world he so callously defends from the safety his country provides.  He adds nothing valuable to society, and condemns all who don’t share his full point of view.  He condemns the belief in God and those that offer it up (seriously, while demanding others respect everything he spews!!!).  He’s anti police and military, but gives only surface reasons that are popular among his ilk.  He has not one personal experience of why he is this way, that he has shared which tells you how sturdy the foundation is for his argument.

He shared far-left numbers and propaganda that has already been shown to be false, and draws comparisons to failed communist states as some sort of beacon on how we should all live.  He represents the most dumbfounding and ignorant of perspectives by applauding police officers being murdered or ambushed, labeling them as “pigs that deserve to die”.  He’s truly a vile person.  The kind that talks a great game, but has nothing on his resume to show for how he came to his conclusions (except for Antifa told me to).  He has no true life experiences on anything he speaks of, or any notion of how he’s positively impacted the world around him.  He would rather sit back and condemn or  judge others for failing to live up to his self-imposed standard that he himself has no intention of upholding.
