With how aggressive this defense is in every report from practice, how on earth did McDermott keep his sanity with these Frazier-led defenses?

I guess the regular season results were enough to keep his true nature at bay.. but I think I’d lose my mind if I was a HC and my DC was out here running bend-don’t break defense all day.

Because the defense under Fraizer was McDermott encouraged, approved and endorsed.

Unless we want to say Fraizer went rogue the entire time he was here and McDermott lost control of half the team.

  2. One thing working for Miami is they do have the only offensive minded head coach in the AFC East.

Who I would also say is the best offensive coordinator in the AFC east.

And with Vic Fangio, on defense that would put them as having the best two coordinators in the division.

But what about Bellichick… historically he’s great, but he’s not what he was five seasons ago.  And McDermott?  Let’s see how long it takes for him to shake the rust off.

    Ugh.

Can we please, PLEASE have a competent PBP guy and one with the energy other teams have?

I really think they would benefit from an objective PBP guy.

eric wood can handle the fluffing after every play and opponent team tear down.

but the PBP guy needs to be a little down the middle.

I’ve been doing some long distance driving on Sunday’s and had chance to listen to other home team PBP via Sirius Radio.

The Eagles Announcer…he is tops in my book.  Not over the top, not overtly gushing for the team that cuts his paycheck, and willing to dump on both teams when their play warranted it.

now that I’ve typed all this, I don’t know if an objective play collar would work for the Buffalo Marketplace it’s not really a type of market place that wants objective coverage especially on game day.

So, Chris Brown will probably work for the majority just not my cup of tea.

All he has to say is he’s moved on. Not talking is the exact opposite of that. Everyone has jobs to do. He’s acting weird.

    Allen is an over seller.

When he REALLY wants things…he oversells.

On the field and in interviews.

Young guy that really wants things, and really wants you to know how much he wants them.

lots of time…he just pushes too much.

  5. Too funny.

Everyone called it in the hours after McDermott PC.  That the Bills “play” to clean this up would be to deny to and blame media.

    Mcdermott handled the deny/lie.

    Allen handled the blame media.

Hopefully, Diggs is taking note of how his co-workers are acting like clowns to protect him.

that should count for something, right?!

Good point, but what, accompanied by fans so worried about "returning to the past" that they're perfectly willing to forego improvement to achieve the ultimate prize, for fear that what, they won't win the division instead?  ... or "make the playoffs" so that we can be embarassed in the WC or D round?

Ben Franklin once said ... “Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.”

We have a fanbase today that appears to be afraid of growth and progress.  This team's efforts at "growth and progress" are limited to roster moves, which is unfortunate.

Buffalo as a Sports Town has no Hardware. We have no titles.  No established championship culture.

So the fans of Buffalo, we have no great standard of the past to hold the modern teams to.

Not that holding modern teams to last teams is some guarantee receipt for success.  But it does expose that our fans and our community doesn’t really have any experience in recognizing when winning isn’t really as successful as it could be otherwise.

which probably (if they all don’t get much better and win) will lead to Bills current regime being here much longer than they should.

Look around you. There are plenty of people who buy it.

At the end of the day…this is just a hobby for us all.  There really is no life/death ramifications to anything that is said or done by those in this league or the media who cover it.

What I always say to the Homerish of Homers is

“you do or believe in whatever you need to that makes you happy and in support of your favorite team.”

in the end … it’s the willful ignorance that keeps Fan Bases thriving over the years.  All fan bases.

Same energy for Burrow I assume

Definitely.  You only get so long in the spotlight before you have to have the hardware to justify it.

Allen and Burrow are in the crosshairs now.

Herbert, Hurts and Lawrence are on deck.

Jackson is tricky.  He has the MVP and $$$$.  But the media narrative has cooled on him being some generational talent.  So the national eyeballs aren’t really on him anymore.

You’ve got it wrong. The NFL is entertainment. Allen in an NFL game = lots of eyeballs watching screens. Fans - Bills fans,  casual fans, other teams fans watch because Allen is entertaining.

No doubt people will watch.  He’s prime time tv.

but as his hype grows and no hardware arrives…the sentiment/narrative amongst other teams fans…is souring.  It already is.

There needs to be hardware to support the hype.

  10. Inside the Mafia and with majority of Media, Allen will always have high praise for his athletic Ability and stats.

outside those two bubbles…his career has already begun to trend more toward the Phil Mickleson, P. Manning (pre them winning)

lots of stats, lots of highlights…but no hardware.

it’s the type of narrative that leads to other teams fans and a national narrative that screams “stop forcing Allen down our throats.”

of course that all goes away if he wins a title or MVP or both.

So typically the NFL tries to rotate around when a team plays in a visiting city in terms of months. The last two times Buffalo hosted the Giants were 07 which was a DEC game and 2015 which was a very early October game week 4. My guess is this time it is more mid season early NOV especially if it is a night game like some have said.

They are really overdue to do that for Dolphins/Bills.

    2023 Almost has to be

    Dolphins at Bills in Sept/Oct

    Bills at Dolphins in Dec

I would be pissed if he did this.

    I believe it.

Ive been to games seeing fans raging over an Allen incomplete pass.

only to look up at there is 14 minutes to go in the 1st Quarter with the score 0-0.

    😂

Sometimes that excitement/nerves causes folks to really lose it.

stop bringing up QB's that were not great scramblers.  you can not compare. I agree with throwing it away and not getting hurt... you go back to your original message and say Josh Allen should not scramble? thats still crazy.

    Let’s split the difference (disagreement)

don’t scramble at meaningless points in games.

  14. 4 minutes ago, PrimeTime101 said:

man your saying 5 different things. No one asking JA to hurdle people.. THAT IS DIFFERENT.  But just taking 3 steps back and throw it into a blocking RB's FEET.. you can not do that.  I agree about the hurdling... but him not scrambling? that's just crazy talk.  NOW, If you were to tell me he is scrambling and he should throw the ball away before being hit while scrambling? I am game.. but what you said.. "taking a few steps back and throwing it to a blocking RB Feet" Silliness. And yes.. there are times you take the sack when you know you can drop safely (Something JA knows how to do very well)  but to your original statement you made going back 4 replies? That is crazy... and I think you know it lol

It’s not totally crazy.  Brady made a second career of simply killing plays that weren’t there from the snap.

thd ball would hit his hands…know the play was a bust…and kill it.

no scrambling. No getting hit.  No wild throws that were intercepted or getting sacked and fumbled.

just an immediate fire it into the ground.

    and everyone made okay.

the Qb States clean and healthy and the game continued on with many more opportunities to score and win in the remainder of the game.

not every third down as equal you don’t have to risk everything in the first quarter of a scoreless game or the second quarter of the game when you are down by a field goal.

What would need, is to realize the situation that you’re in.  And understand that every play is not “life and death”.

Something our current bills squad for several years has not really shown an understanding of.

You mean like how Burrow did it in the AFCCG that killed a late drive with an intentional grounding? C’mon. I’m one of the biggest Allen critic on here and even I think you can’t take that part of his game away. Why would you? It’s a huge asset for the team. What you’d want is a middle ground. Run and slide. Run out of bounds. Avoid contact until absolutely necessary like in the playoffs. Kind of like the other qb that played in the AFCCG.

kill the play when it’s not there.  You’ll last longer.

especially kill the play when it’s not a vital point of the game.

not all 3rd downs are created equal.

    21 minutes ago, PrimeTime101 said:

you just named 4 QB's that were not the best of scramblers like JA. congrats.. and no.. they did not do it like you say

Brady lasted 20 years.  Because he knew when to kill the play.

just kill it.  No point hurdling a player on 2nd and 10 when you still have 3rd down to pick up a a play.

great for highlights … not smart at all.

  16. 4 minutes ago, PrimeTime101 said:

it is and you said it... he is not a receiver, he is blocking. he is in the pocket and throw is to the ground behind the line of scrimmage. If it were this easy Every QB would do it.

Asking a good scrambling QB who throws out of the pocket very well to just do what you do is crazy man.

    Brady, Manning, Bree’s, Rivers…etc

have a killer plays by simply firing it at their running backs feet for decades.  It is never called a penalty.
