End of an era

Yeah and if they didn't fumble on our goal line they would have lost by two scores or more.
And if Dion Dawkins places his foot a smidge to the left, Allen to Shakir is the go ahead score with less than 2 minutes to play. -
Guy does a bit of everything!

Tory Taylor was easily Iowa’s best offensive player the past two seasons. He was the Brian Moorman of the Hawkeyes’ offensive drought.

I wonder if some of these 5th rounders can be traded away for picks next year?

The trade with KC was a good one.
The Bills should have taken Legette at 32. The trade with Carolina is the one I don’t like.

Correct me if I'm wrong but these guys never pan out especially when drafted in first 2 rds where pressure is on them to contribute right away.
I've seen Corners move to safety as vets and still play on a high level or even mid to late Rd pks like Poyer and Hyde make the transition and become studs but please if anyone here knows of a player that went high in the draft and was able to either move from corner to safety or vis versa and do it at a high level right away. We just recently seen Simmons get drafted high and he was a stud at Clemson and moving to safety derailed his career and he played that postion in college as well as corner and Lber these hybrid tweener types never pan out drafted high the ones that do or the lower Rd pks that get the time and patience from the coaches to make that full transition and if your thinking about flat out using Dejean like in college as a hybrid player on the NFL level that never works as well. So if anyone remembers someone that actually made this transition please add to the chat, thanks.
Cooper will not be a good corner in the NFL as well he has tight hips and gets burned by lower level players in the big ten . I realize he's made some splash plays on tape but thats not gonna help him on the NFL level where u see professionals on a daily basis in practice and at 100% on Sundays.
One need only look at a former Hawkeye and great Buffalo Bill to see how this can work: Micah Hyde. Hyde was a zone corner before successfully moving over to Safety. DeJean has better tools than Hyde had and therefore warrants a higher selection. No idea where you are getting “tight hips” or “burned by lower level players”. As someone who has watched every game Coop has played, this is demonstrably false.
Dejean is also a fantastic punt returner. Tough, smart, and super athletic. He has a real chance to be every bit as good as Hyde.

Wait. Are we counting passes to the other team or no?

Coming away with both Thomas Jr and Baker would be a fantastic result for the Bills.

A trade down is so enticing here, but I voted Legette because I didn’t want to get too cute and miss out on him.

TBD is split!
I voted no because I don’t want to give up next year’s 1st. Given the turnover this off-season, there is a reasonable chance that next year’s 1st could be the highest pick the Bills have had among the past few seasons. I think that future pick is more valuable than most are currently projecting.
I think the Minnesota 2nd rounder is a very interesting piece. Most will likely project it to be at the top of the 2nd round and so it will have a reasonable trade value. The Minnesota 2nd rounder probably is not enough to get into the top 8 without the Bills’ future 1st… but perhaps it is enough to jump up to grab a Brian Thomas Jr? That I could see.
I’d vote “yes” to a trade up, just not as high as proposed.

I'm starting to wonder if having a slew of very good WR's is as important as to having a superstar with JAGs around him.
The Cover1 film room has shown that Brady’s offense almost always spreads targets evenly. That would seem to align with your thinking - and perhaps a hint that we should not expect a blockbuster trade up.I would still bet on a trade up, but not as high as folks might be thinking.

I'm a fan of that. This team needs new blood in lots of places
Of course YOU are a fan of it NOW, Captain Hindsight!- 2

A terrible idea.
A good to great QB can turn a bad franchise into a good one. See: The Bills.
The NFL wants the bad teams to eventually be good. Otherwise folks stop watching.
You also can’t say we’re rewarding bad teams for failure and in the same breath argue that it’s not a reward because they are bad teams and destined for failure. Pick a lane.
0/10
This explanation, coming from the field goal kick revolutionary, is wonderful. I very much agree. However, one might ask what the heck kind of lane you have picked!- 1

Why stop at 5? I say make it 3 yards!

DeJean is a playmaker. A lot of similarities with Hyde.

Do we know the trade terms yet?

Too many injuries have happened on those Thanksgiving day games. I’ll take Week 1.

I agree, If we trade up it has t be for Thomas; otherwise I want McConkey at #28; and a more tradition X later in the draft. The draft is so deep at WR, I wouldn't mind going McConkey at 28 and someone like Legette (if he makes it there) or Walker. DT is deep enough to wait on, Safety. we signed two guys.
I think if you want someone like Pearsall, Legette or Franklin (over a Worthy or Mitchell, you absolutely trade back into the early part of Rd 2 and Grab another 2nd. Yu don't take Pearsall at 28.
I get the thinking, but the dollars and cents of an extra year on the rookie deal might make such a selection more palatable, especially at the end of round 1.I’m not banging the table for it. Heck, I’m not even advocating for it. I just wouldn’t hate it.
-
I know many would call it a slight reach, but I would be 100% OK with Pearsall at #28.
