TG on Whaley & McD sounds to be in charge update
xRUSHx replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry man the same two backup QB love posters push me over the edge every time I add something about drafting a QB. I added the QB thing because it is the biggest knock I have with Whaley. Once again sorry everyone please return to OP topic. -
TG on Whaley & McD sounds to be in charge update

McD could be something but you don't give that much power to a rookie HC, good run teams don't do that. If Whaley gets fired this staff also needs to be fired, the next GM needs to pick his own staff. -

Sadly I agree but they made their bed with hiring a HC with keeping Ralph's people. If they are going to clean house in my opinion it starts with a complete clean house and that starts with hiring a very good GM not a GM to be a yes man for a rookie HC. I agree a clean house is needed but they need to do it right and in my opinion the best way to do it is in 2019 so potential GMs can see Whaley and McD got a fair shake at trying to win. To fire Whaley now and then hiring a GM as a lame duck to a rookie HC is a recipe for disaster in my opinion and will just end with the same type of fail. -

You may not like him and he really ticks me off with this QB purgatory but they can't fire a GM and expect a new GM to want to keep this new staff that was hired by the last GM unless your planing on hiring a GM that will be a yes man to a rookie HC. In my opinion the best thing the Pegs can do is keep Whaley and McD together and if these two seasons fail fire them both and find a very good GM to build this team. In my opinion the biggest problem with Whaley is he drafts who the HCs want more then what this team really needs. Dont mean to get off subject but the biggest thing that gets me about Whaley is his avoiding draft better QB prospects. Whaley called out the purgatory but yet avoids addressing it because his head coaches keep wanting to use these lower talent QBs expecting to win with them just to fail with them. Head coaches don't want to wait for a QB and this is why the Bills can't get better and can't find a franchise worthy QB it's because they just keep waiting for a mircle and miracles don't happen so playoffs will also be something that never happens. Until this team has a urgency to draft a franchise worthy QB this team will continue to always be searching for one and I see zero chance Whaley and McD to last using Tyrod. In my opinion the first thing a new GM will do when they clean house in 2019 will be draft a QB early. Build around a franchise worthy QB not another teams backup QB. Tyrod is not good enough and when McD finds that out it will be too late to keep his job.this staff has a chance at the future but if it's the Tyrod show to build around it's just a Chan man style side show of a Fitztragic fail. -

I agreeYou hire GM then HC not the other way around. First year HC being a GM as well? SMH at ownership, almost like Pegs want the team to lose fans so they can move the team. I thought I really liked the new owners but this is just mad. Its horrible -

They already made their bed with Whaley with keeping him with a new staff, in my opinion McD and Whaley are now married. New GMs want there own guys it's how the NFL works, if a GM comes in to keep the current staff it's just a longer process to the next complete rebuild in my opinion. Head coaches don't hire GMs the NFL is not built that way just like a successful business Is not built with the the hamburger cook deciding on who is going to be the next boss. -

If it's only till the end of the season doesn't that put this staff on a one season highatus, unless they will hire a GM ok with using this staff, hard to find unless they just promote from within a guy with no GM experience, would answer the question of the owners giving complete power to this rookie head coach that's for sure. Good GMs tend to want there own guys. I would hope Pegs would keep everyone together the next 2 seasons just do a conplete restart in 2019. Start with a real good GM it's how teams become good. -
Ironic About Coach McDermott
xRUSHx replied to RalphWilson'sNewWar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even Fitz had a few good games, many backup QBs do. Even after Fitz had a few teams with more talent he still failed. Truth is he still isn't good enough and that's how I see Tyrod, sadly I see no different, I hope I'm wrong but history tends to repeat itself especially when it is using another teams late round backup QB just like Fitz was. Wishing for a mircle season, same old Bills. -

I don't know about shocking this team has been a joke for a long time but yes giving a first year head coach that much power is unprecedent. In my opinion they need to let Whaley be a GM with this staff, if things dont start to look better these next two seasons then start from scratch in 2019 with a top GM hired that brings in his guys, it's how a very good team is built. Team needs structure you can't have the workers telling the bosses what to do. Its anarchy -

SMH, win now mode doesn't work it's why this team continues its streak.2017 better be fabulous or 2018 they all will be dead man walking. Fans will jump ship fast on this staff with this long playoffless drought. Its a tough schedule they want it all on one season shows a rookie head coach is about to get a rude awakening, tough to win in the NFL. Maybe it's a good thing, if they fail hard they can start from scratch in 2019 the new GM will build this team with a staff looking past one season while knowing it's a QB driven league. Good GMs know a team won't drive far with another teams backup QB leading the way. Sadly when I seen Tyrod resigned I knew it was going to be a long tough 2 seasons, back to the Chan days of a hard headed head coach in love with a backup QB. Sadly this playoffless streak could be another 5-6 years. -

There is a reason why head coaches don't have complete control in the NFL and that is head coaches base there decisions on the next two seasons, only there time as head coach, sadly for them head coaches most likely have a short term. A GM most times gets a few staffs to prove they are good at there jobs, they have to look past the current staff and looks to hire a staff to use his players so if it dont work out the next staff comes in. Good luck finding a GM that wants to be told how to do his job. A GM that is a yes man to the HC will most of the time become a total fail in the NFL. -

I agree with this 100%. This team is in big big trouble if a first time HC is also playing the part of a first time GM. We thought Donablow was bad this could end up the biggest sporting fail ever. If this is true I will loose a ton of respect for Pegs, GM runs the team not a HC especially a first time HC. Is this Chan all over again. Pig headed about a backup QB. SMH I want a QB drafted early to push Tyrod out of here sooner then later, if McD is another Chan low talent QB pusher he is already on his last leg with me and I haven't even seen one season. I have anger issues at Whaley about QB but if McD is taking over at GM for this draft to push the build around Tyrod its going to be a very long 2 seasons for him. The excitement I had for him is going down hill fast. -
Bills 2017 Markting Slogan Fan Suggestions
xRUSHx replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
QB driven league so our QBs will drive you right to the liquor store.(drive you to drink) Don't drink and drive Its hard to win in the NFL, proud record leader in longest playoff drought in sports. Come watch the best. -
Your funny, good idea to get rid of Whaley I like it. Go Bills, see ya in 2019 when it all blows up. Top 4 will be gone, Whaley always waits too long. If one isn't taken right away I see no use in bothering to try with another Brown prospect to bag groceries within 3 years. I agree Whaley don't have a clue rebuild from the GM down in 2019, it will be a long 2 years. Best way to land a top prospect is to take one of the top prospects from said class.
-
Oh so take another late rounder, got it. Late rounders work so well for this team, I wonder what Levi Brown is up to these days. But next year's class is better then next year they won't be so good so the next year's class, maybe someday we can go for one but not this one because next year's class.
-
Secretly I think you agree Tyrod will fail but know the best way to ditch Whaley is to keep Tyrod on his pedestal to fail hard.
-
I wonder if Sal will also be let go when Whaley, McD and Tyrod are put to the curb in 2019. Perfect year to draft a top talent at QB to sit behind Tyrod year one. Waiting will equal the same Chan/Fitz fail of being hard headed thinking your all set at QB so wait and then boom mid season your crying in your Thad Lewis soup.

Rotoworld ranks Whaley as worst GM in NFL
xRUSHx replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I respect your opinion because it's a message board everyone has one. It's your opinion that they will fall lower in the draft while many think the top 4 will be gone by 44 considering how many teams will go after QB. Waiting too long is why Whaley always misses out on the better QBs, waiting for next year's class is why this team can NEVER get a better QB because the next year's class ends up not so go when it's time to draft them. In my opinion what he was saying is he is ok with a QB drafted this season sitting this year behind Tyrod even though he feels the Tyrod experiment should have been done with, he is saying sit him not because a top pick isn't good enough it's just because Tyrod is still a factor here on contract. Just how I understand his opinion on the statement -

So your still trying to turn it around, you said that I said the Bills should have kept Rex and let Tyrod go. I never said that. In that statement you used that was what I was addressing. SMH your arguing just to argue.I'm not trying to explain to you anymore because I know your blind in Tyrod, I don't agree that Tyrod is not part of the problem like you do. So in my opinion Tyrod is not the savior Of the Bills, he is not a franchise worthy QB, he is just not good enough. You can blame everyone else all you want but truth is the D, coaching and YES Tyrod is why the last staff got fired. -

It's nice that you found this piece from WGR in 2015 but this was a regurgitated statement in this interview that he first made on his first day of being GM. He made the QB purgatory statement day one of him being GM when he addressed the media. This 2015 was just him blasting those same words again because he knew he still hasn't addressed it well enough and the purgatory was still relevant in 2015 so yes he said it again but it's not the real first statement I'm talking about. Many fans are obsessed with the QB position because it's the most important position in football, if you don't have a good one the rest of the team just doesn't matter. -

Wow, where did I say that? I didn't you did. What I'm saying is with keeping Tyrod they are banking it all on coaching and fixing the D so they better hope Tyrod shows up in those big games or this staff will look no better then the last is what I'm pointing to. Tyrod could turn into something but I think he is what he is so the D and coaching better play out of this world or a cordinator will once again be fired year one. Coaching was a problem so was the D but you need to also point to your savior Tyrod, he just wasn't good enough. Funny how other teams find a Qb from the draft good enough for at least one playoff run while Buffalo continues to try for that mircle season with other teams backups.
