Look I'm not saying we have the best group in the league, and there are a ton of questions (will Zay crap the bed? Was fosters second half a sign of the future or a flash in the pan? Can duke Williams ball?) But the article nails the problem with their raking.

this idiot put Andre Roberts in as one of their starting wrs.

    He clearly did no research.

Yeah, I totally whiffed on that. Didn’t see the context. I was talking RW.

    Rw is a tough one

Obviously ja is much younger and costs significantly less, but rw is pretty darn legit.

I said it earlier this thread I believe, Buffalo's current roster with rw at QB is a 12 win team and an instant SB contender.

Much shorter window (no pun intended) than ja because of age, but obviously he's already a proven commodity, although FA qb acquisition don't always perform as intended (and in fact they usually don't)

Are you asking if I would rather a QB that can throw for 24 TD/5 INT and 65% completion percentage over 11 games (extrapolating data) over a QB who runs and passes for 18 TD's/12 INT with 53% completion percentage?

Because if you are, the answer is yes....

Wait are you talking about rw or Eli??

@BuffaloHokie13 was talking about Allen vs Eli

    Eli had

     21td/11int and a 66% comp over 16 games

Turning that into 11 games is  14td/7int over 11 games

So it’s Eli’s fault that the Giants’ defense was horrible?  Who’s the last Bills QB to throw for 4000 yards and 20 TDs in a season?

And what does Josh Allen have to do with it? He’s a really exciting young QB, and I’m glad we have him, but so far he has not accomplished much as a passer in the NFL.

Eli had a pretty solid offense around him, including a top5 rb and wr

I think a lot of his #s were empty.

At the end of the day he looks done for and really worn down.

I think 4k+ with 21/11 line looks amazing for Allen

It doesn't look good for an immobile gun turret of a QB who provides nothing with his legs and is making $22+Milly a season against your cap.

That makes a lot of sense imo. They need to do something because Eli stinks.

I've been saying this to my Giants friends.

The issue is the Cardinals are in no hurry to trade Rosen.

They gave up an additional 3rd and 5th to move up from 15 to 10 to select him.

I don't think they are going to toss him for scraps, which is what the Giants fans seem to think they can get him for.

He's worth more to the Cardinals as insurance for Murray.

Maybe they don't want to throw Murray to the wolves initially, so they'll let Rosen be puppy chow until they feel Murray is ready.

They also have a reasonably priced quality backup locked down for 4 more years.

I just don't see them cutting bait for anything less than a 2nd + 3rd, but I could be completely wrong lol

He’d be looking at a 1 year, $28M contract. I can’t imagine him sitting out with that on the table, but who knows?  There is one more twist: what about the potential lockout in 2021?  How does that play into this?  I don’t even think that Seattle could tag him a second time (for 2021) until the CBA is resolved.

If they’re going to move him, then the time is before the draft.  If they tag him and try to trade him next offseason who knows how much the uncertainty in 2021 will factor into his value.

    Agreed

The fact that he basically pigeonholed them into the Giants, who cannot possibly trade for him with Eli on the roster, complicates this beyond belief

Seattle can tag Wilson for 1 year for sure and probably 2 years without cap issues.  I can’t see him leaving that kind of money on the table by not signing the tag.  He might not do it right away, but he’ll donor before the season.

if the Giants want him they’re going to have to give up some value.  They need him in the fold before camp be it this season or next.  And honestly, if it’s going to happen then now is the right time for both teams. Gettleman has extra draft capital this year and it will look like he had a plan all along if he brings Wilson in. Seattle isn’t winning anything this season with or without Wilson so they might was well go full rebuild now and add some draft capital (which they’re sorely lacking as of now).

    Agreed

I think it's an interesting twist

Does he pull a leveon bell?

    Who knows

Russell Wilson is a top 5 QB. He dragged a ? roster to the playoffs last year. If Seattle doesn’t hand him a blank check they are morons.

With that being said, here’s my hypothetical trade that I think makes sense: Giants trade 6, 17, 2020 1st and Kevin Zeitler for Wilson.

Eli means they aren't trading for any QB starter.

You can’t let things go this far with your star QB.  Gotta keep them happy.  Doesn’t seem like Seattle has tried very hard.  Wilson is extremely underpaid and they haven’t exactly surrounded him with offensive weapons.

He signed 4 years and about 90 million with 32 guaranteed

    He's not that underpaid

Quarterbacks who are paid their “fair” value invariably B word a season or two later when teams aren’t able to surround them with talent.

    Agreed

Unless they are walking into a ready made team with a bunch of talent on cheap deals, they tend to suck up too much cap space

Look how the falcons and Ravens fell apart after signing their QBs

I have opinions on all sorts of things posts and posters.  My point is, if someone behaves within the site TOS, why does it matter?

I didn't think Sky Diver was actually an Alabama fan (and I have an opinion about who Sky Diver actually was), but the real problem wasn't whether or not s/he was really an Alabama fan, the problem was his or her (very well done) trolling and incessant crusading.

We have a number of people here who have sock puppet accounts.  As long as they behave themselves, it's not a problem.  If they don't behave themselves, it's the behavior that's the problem, not the fact that they're sock puppets per se.

At least I'm gung home and argumentative on one account and one account only ?

Isn't it possible that like a ton of other athletes, he also would like to live in NYC? Professional athletes wanting to play in New York isn't exactly shocking. The fact that it also might help his wife's career is a bonus.

He's just gonna play for the Yankees

With all their injuries right now he's probably a MLB starter for them ?

  12. 3 minutes ago, BarleyNY said:

Yeah. It looks like Wilson want PAID if he’s going to have to live through a total rebuild in Seattle.  Or he wants out.  Seattle has to get something for him if he isn’t going to play for them. You can’t let a bona fide FQB go for nothing.  You need additional picks to speed up your rebuild.

    Agreed

It's going to be tough for them though

Letting him walk gets you a comp pick or two i think

As I said the problem is he's dictated where he wants to go already

That murders trade value if it's only one place because you have nobody else bidding

Why give up a kings random if you are the Giants, when you can just sign him next season?

Their team is a trainwreck so there's no urgency to get him this season

  13. Just now, BarleyNY said:

Seattle only has 26 players under contract for next season.  That’s odd.  They won’t even get many more from this draft class without some trades because they only have 4 picks right now.  They’ll certainly have the cap space to franchise Wilson, but I can see why he wants paid or traded.  Not really sure what the Seattle plan is right now. 2020 outlook:

    https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/seattle-seahawks/cap/2020/

Plans don't always work out, and you can't make a guy sign if he doesn't want to play for you anymore.

Franchise tag only helps so much, as it's a big heap of guaranteed money, but usually makes the player disgruntled.

It's especially tough when a guy wants a trade, but only gives limited (or 1) trade options, publicly.

It's very disingenuous to me when a guy acts like he wants out at all costs, but only gives limited places he will be traded to. (Ab, melo and ad in basketball come to mind)

Do you want out that bad?

Or do you only want out bad enough that you'll go where you dictate?
