I think it would be irresponsible for the Bills to keep both Poyer and Hyde beyond this season. Unless one or both are willing to take considerably below-market deals to chase championships, which I don't see as likely. Let Poyer ball out in 2022 and then test the market. Continue to develop the pipeline behind him. One of either Johnson or Hamlin could develop; maybe Johnson already has? I think the money needs to be re-routed to the offense either way (WRs, TEs, and OLs).

Two All Pro safeties over 30 is a luxury the Bills probably can't afford after this season. And that's okay.

Correct. So just win the Big One this year so someone can either retire or move on happily.  Geez Louize I’m excited for this season now!!!!

    Poyer 4 year 80M

Kind of laughable on its face IMHO at first until one remembers all the +5 yard opposition plays where Poyer flies in with his shoulder down and upends the receiver/runner immediately like a 250 linebacker.   I mean Jo Poy reminds me of another legendary Bills cb who’s son recently won  a SB with TB.  Just saying.

I think its pretty obvious that Poyer isn't getting some large extension if he gets any contract extension at all. This team has a lot of big time players coming up that need to be re-signed. Poyer is also at a disadvantage in this as well.

The Bills are pretty well positioned with replacements. Yes Jaquan Johnson isn't to his level but he is a replacement level player on a much cheaper contract. Also Poyer is older, its probably not in his best interest to sit out this year, hit FA, and hope some team gives him a large contract after he has been out a full year.

The best case is Poyer gets either a short extension 1-2 years at moderate money, or he plays out this year, balls out, and becomes a Free Agent and gets a deal similar to Justin Reid or Tyrann Mathieu from another team.

But…but…but…oh damn you pretty much said it all for me right here.  As much as I love me some Jo Poy, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for the man, this is pretty much reality for him.
I actually believe B Beane will shuffle things around and throw Poyer a bone if at all possible just because that’s the kind of GM and person he is, but only if the accounting works out.  Given the crazy deeply talented roster right now though, that just may not be possible.

The #1 goal is to win a Super Bowl. OBJ gives me a better chance at that than to watch homegrown talent develop.

I can’t argue with you there.  Personally,  I am leaning towards the OBJ road.  I think he could be signed at a decent value point.  But WTF do I know.

I do know for sure that I have not been this frogging excited for our Bills in about 3 frogging decades so these are really fun discussions to be having.

Just curious how Acronyms effect this. Because if you eliminate the acronym it just sounds terribly wrong.

    “because he’s an free agent”

yeah. Idk. I didn’t take 10th grade English.

You are correct.  It changes things completely.  FA is a soft F because you say “eff” therefore requiring “an” before it.  If you say free specifically then it becomes a “hard” F thus requiring just an “a”.

That’s how I remember it anyway.  As always,  I might be wrong.  But I think you can tell by how it flows as you are speaking.  I’m such “a” friggin nerd sometimes.

We would have to trade some money for his services…… because he’s an FA.

Just like your use of “an” before “FA”.  I’m a bit of a stickler for these things.  Also thiink your thinking is spot on.

    Go Bills! That is all.

  7. He has some serious mental health issues and really needs help.

Kanye, obviously, is the same.  Clearly bipolar 1 but high achieving.  That conversation he had with Trump in the  Oval Office a few years ago was very revealing to me.  Classic pressured speech.

I have been there myself a few dozen times in my 48 years of life.  I can remember many times I couldn’t shut my yap in certain situations.  I just had no clue why until a few years ago when I was finally diagnosed bipolar.  Now it all truly makes sense.  I’m not as wild as these guys (on most days anyway) but I’m also not as high achieving.

Not trying to make excuses for AB and his outlandish behavior.  Just saying when we see this type of thing, especially in sports and entertainment, it’s almost a sure sign of underlying mental health issues.  And I’m sure many of us on here know someone personally who are in the same boat.  Whether we realize it right now or not.

Also I’m definitely not trying to take the fun out of the AB discussions. He is a d—ckhead and a millionaire so I don’t feel that sorry for him.  He can afford a good psychiatrist.

  8. I would like to see any of you complainers do his job.  He’s not the best.  So freaking what?  He’s our Steve Tasker.

Check out the Youtube of OBL from Friday.  He was trying to make a point about Bernard but kept calling him Benford.  Someone corrected him, he checked the roster and got it right for one sentence and then resumed calling him Benford three more times.  Maddy Glab inserts his correct, full name  twice before she finishes two sentences.  The look on Frelund's face was one of total befuddlement.  CTE is real and Tasker had as many full speed ST collisions as any of them.  I totally hope that is not the case.  Steve is at his best when storytelling as in many cases he has probably told many of them on multiple occasions.  19:36

    Benford or Bernard

Actually I think the other guy today made the same mistake.  If they both make the roster,  it won’t be the last time.  People are human and make mistakes.

Yes, they do owe us an update.

We know of Kim's health issue because they chose to make a public announcement. They made it our business.

Now the least they can do I issue a statement that she is "recovering...  thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers..."

They started it, they least they can do is give us some closure.

It’s amazing how quickly one can show one’s age/maturity in just a single, DA post online these days.

Obviously our friend cd1 has never had the unfortunate experience of a similar nature that tue Pegulas are currently experiencing.  If they had,  I am certain they wouldn’t ne running off at the mouth ( so to speak) line this.
Just sit down and shut up, friend.  Save some face while you still can.

  10. Why so many people just blindly love Aaron Rodgers and just continue to fellate his reputation to no end simply astounds me.  Is it all the endless (and atrocious) State Farm commercials?  I don’t know. All I know is that I have been completely unimpressed with his play and attitude on the field for several years now.  That last game against the truly mediocre 49’rs was just awful.  Just the look on his face the entire game inspired absolutely no one, let alone the team he was supposed to be leading to the SB again.

Well done!  I figured you had a pretty great sense of humor with that fantastic handle, Jake

  12. Ok,  I have one of the best such songs now.  But if I just tell the world,  it feels cheap and underserved (because I take this topic wayyyyyyyy to seriously lol).

But I will give you a big hint:  It’s an oldie (80’s) by a pop duo from across the big pond.  One of the members has passed away but had a pretty good solo career himself.  That group’s name rhymes with “Blam!”

Can anyone guess the song I am thinking about?

(And maybe I should post script this with the disclaimer that it may not be the most productive thing to try and read my crazy ass mind.  But good luck anyhow!)
