Whether Glab's hot mic take was accurate or not was never really the issue for me, as much as "Team reporter gets caught absolutely blasting #1 WR's character and does NOT get fired for it."

Interesting…I never thought about it like that.  Says a lot in hindsight

Not sure the cause of death, but I see so many guys saying/feeling like no one cares about how they’re doing.

I’ve been guilty of this as well.

I just want to say this isn’t true, there are people out there who care, even if you don’t realize it.

Men’s mental health needs to be more openly talked about and the stigmas need to go away, but it starts with us. We need to be the change we want to see.

Check in with your dads, check in bros, and check in with your dudes. Fight the stigma that no one cares. Fight the stigma that depression looks sad and lonely, check in with your golden retriever friends/family too.

Well said, my friend.  I am bipolar 1 and was only properly diagnosed at the age of 43, just 7 years ago.  I'm very open about my mental health challenges because I want to encourage people around me to take their mental health seriously.  And I want to be a resource for anyone seeking help.

People with bipolar disorder are 20 to 30 times more likely to attempt suicide.  Yikes!  For me, just knowing why I am the way that I am and have had all these challenges throughout my life has made a tremendous difference.  I cannot understate that.  At least there's a real reason, you know?  And I sincerely hope that can be the case for others out there struggling with mental health.  Go talk to someone.  Call a counselors office and make an appointment.  Or talk to your regular doctor.  There's so much help out there today.

Anyone on here can feel free to message me as well.  I'm more than happy to help.

And what would your answer be?  Bring in a guy with no experience in McD’s defense, whether rookie or vet? ?  Or stick with a veteran who knows the system as has performed fairly well within it?

When are fans going to get it through their heads that there is a salary cap in the NFL and because of that you are not going to have All Pros at every spot on the field?  If one were to listen to the hysteria this past off season we should have brought high priced guys in at MLB, WR2, RT.  That is not the way the NFL works.

  4. Hlarious!  Bill Burr pisses me off sometimes but, outside of the Pat's love, he's like one of my inner voices that I'm too nice and polite to use out loud with the exception of when I'm alone in my car and some idiot is driving all dangerously like he's in some video game (don't worry I'm bipolar, yes, but I don't hear voices - aside from that one time on that one drug but I learned my lesson).

But seriously, when he talked about Knox's TD and him looking into the camera talking to Damar "all dreamy eyed" I almost peed myself.  Like Burr is afraid of the love or something.  Maybe he can't stand that much pure goodness and light from above channeling through that good soul that we all know Dawson has.  Like when a vampire sees a cross or hears the word "God" and it hurts their evil souls.  HAHA!

I know there’s been a lot of ups and downs this season.  Seriously, lesser teams would have folded up shop by now.  It’s sucks to lose the one seed like we did.  It hurts wondering if Von and Hyde will cost us in the playoffs.

But as I see Black Monday roll around, front offices reaching out to any potential future coaches, praying they can turn their losing team around, thinking about the draft and FA, already, it makes me so appreciative for what we have.

5 years ago, our season would have started today.  We would have been wishing for the next HC, draft pick, quarterback would could save us.

Today, I see all these articles about interviews and players retiring, etc, and I’m just thankful.

I never, EVER, doubt what we have as being elite talent and support.   Is it SB worthy, maybe and maybe not.  But I know we are so far ahead of 90% of the league and have the right core to keep fighting.

We have the best fan base in the league, best possible QB for this team, and setup for success for years to come.

    Go Bills

Amen to all of this, brother!  Perspective is everything.

  6. Huge shout out to Denny and the rest of those on the field who got out to Damar so fast.  Just so impressed with how quickly he recognized the dire situation and put his training into action.

All this has made me recall the CPR training I got in the Army at Ft. McClellan over 30 years ago.  I still remember the basics and have been mentally drilling them in case they are ever needed again.

I will be looking for a refresher course in my area soon and I recommend everyone take the time to learn CPR as well if they can.  The basic training course I did was not overwhelming and easy to understand and remember. Hopefully what they teach now isn’t all that different.

    Go Bills!!!

  7. Unfortunately I will be working tonight though I don’t get ESPN at home anyway and I am a recovering alcoholic so I don’t go to sports bars.

Fortunately I have a decent job and am a happily recovering alcoholic.

    Things could be worse.

I picked up my 60 day chip today with my Bills shirt and hat on and got a “Go Bills” from someone there.  I thought that was just awesome.

A high quality DT can make your safety look a lot better than they are(not referring to Hyde specifically, but in general).  A high quality safety cannot make your DT look better than they are.  In general, your secondary is not going to be able to hold up on a regular basis no matter how good they are if you have no pass rush and the QB can just sit back there forever and force them to try and cover for 5,6 or 7 seconds.  Conversely, a DT can force a ball out in 2 seconds before they are ready to throw it if they can get quick penetration which gives the safeties an opportunity to pick the ball or make a play on it. Not sure how this is even a discussion really.

Here is Cover 1 talking to DaQuan about what he is doing and how he is doing it...another great video with input from Daquan as to what he is seeing on certain looks and plays.

One can argue that the inverse could be true, don't you think?

(T Polamalu, Ronnie Lott, Rodney Harrison...)

Just let it go already, ok?  Can't you just let me be a Mycah Hyde fanboy and go away?

And, I would like to submit, that your line of reasoning about Hyde is total BS.  Or do you not remember the greatest INT in NFL history on that last, frigid game against the Patsies?

Daquan Jones has been playing like a monster, I remember after the chiefs game that of all DTs he was getting double teamed the most, and still had a top 5 pass rush win rate among DTs. Along with that, our run defense has improved to being currently the best in the league. That is indicative of good line play.

You may or may not have a point, but Mycah Hyde is just the shizznet

I mean, how do you compare a truly talented safety to a (very good) DT.   Apples and oranges.

Great video breakdown of various ways the Bills DT's are helping the D out.  From controlling the LOS and taking on double teams and preventing combo blocks from getting to the LB's, to getting upfield in the pass rush.

Daquan Jones has been nothing less than stellar for the Bills, but the other DT's have been playing very well also...

Bills causing stalemates at the LOS on a regular basis giving the RB nowhere to go on runs.

Dumb questions like this deserve a Mack Truck’s  worth of Santa’s coal dumped in your living room this year.

SMH…maybe one of the best safeties ever…and this where you qo?

Sal C posted a little diagram of this play

I forget who said it, but after the SF49ers game  (in 2020 I think), one of the media members described one of Josh's throws as a "THAT *****IN' GUY!" play.  He explained that to a DC, you draw up your defensive play, you call the right play, EVERY PLAYER ON YOUR DEFENSE EXECUTES PERFECTLY - and Josh Allen still throws a completion.  It's enough to make a DC throw his clipboard and yell "THAT *****IN' GUY!"

IMHO,  Allen’s throwing release is legendary, as is Mahomes’.

But, just my opinion, JA17’s release is like .2 seconds quicker which is why he can keep the Bills up with Mahomo’s Chefs (no offense I have a culinary degree).

I really wish someone would respond to the "13 seconds" questions with "well maybe next time we'll just give up at the half so we don't disappoint you again".  Really getting old hearing about it, even from our own media.

Like why the hell ask Miller the question even?

    Yeah, turn 13,seconds into 13 knuckles…or something

  15. Tragedy like this reminds us that we have an amazing opportunity to contribute to great charities these days at the click of a button and Bills Mafia is the best in the world at stepping up in just such an occasion.  You all have inspired me so much that I donated $100 to the P.U.N,T. Foundation yesterday without pause.   G-damn it Iove being a now-32 year member of Bills Mafia!!!!!!!!

I couldn’t imagine being part of a better group of people!!!!!!  ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  16. Wonderful post, OP.  Love the walk down memory lane.  I remember this season well and still feel the heartache after that great win against the Pats.

Kyle and Fred are my picks and I have to say just because this years team seems to have such a good d line,  I would pick FJ.  I just think he would add a vertical power dimension to the running game.  Like Kyle,  he was just so fun to watch.

Thanks again for starting this great thread.
