I'm really surprised with Dimitroff - always thought he was going to take off
Well he goes from a handsoff owner in Kraft, to an owner that like to have say.
That is my point with the GM you have to find one that is successful with how you see yourself as an owner.
If you are a meddler you better hire that GM that is used to it and knows how to deal and be successful with it.

God i just am so impressed with what a good coaching staff can do (Pats)
Then i come back to reality and look at our clown show
-
I know people get turned off by any future GM from NE because of Pioli and Dimitroff failed leaving NE and people say it is all Hoodie.I'm not a 'clean house' type of guy. I'd definitely keep people around that are a net asset. I wouldn't be looking to replace him as a matter of urgency, that's for sure.
It's really difficult to come up with candidates when so little is known about most of them. I've kept my eye on the guys Hatman has mentioned, I figure that it's likely smart to look at the better teams. It's why I'm very open to the idea of anyone from the Patriots.
However the caveat to that were the Owners of Chiefs and Falcons same type of Owner Kraft is.
Guys like this just dont forget how to manage a team, cap, evaluate players overnight.
On Polian
Polian checks all the Russ Brandon bullets.
Sucessful in past (not so much in recent past) CHECK
Reaches into the 90s CHECK
Plays to nostalgia CHECK
Yep i can sell that to fans for 3 years Terry no matter how bad on field results are

Not sure DeCosta would leave Baltimore. I think he's said as much before. I'd definitely try and tempt him in the knowledge that plan B is probably needed.
Do you know much about Rob Hanrahan? He's our Director of Pro Personnel (literally didn't know that until now), I think his department has done a solid job with acquisitions. Maybe not GM but possibly an assistant GM role might be a decent reward for him.
I know Jim Manos is one that is seen as an up and coming GM around the league. I just dont know if you are moving on from Whaley that and internal hire is a good thing. Screams same old Bills to me
-
Caserio has been my guy if you could get him (he's a friend of my sister though so I know that influences my decision). DeCosta and Tobin would be high on my list as well. I'm normally ultra aggressive but I think that this has to be a conservative and safe hire. They can't afford a guy with a low floor. That's why I throw those names out there.
My issue with those type of guys is they typically deny interviews because they are the heir apparent at each respective organization.

Im not sure if there has been a team so entrenched with a bad structure and personnel... and so unwilling to change and get with the times.
And the jets brought in 2 'czars' after idzik/ryan and things are looking much brighter for them than the bills... already.
Consultants to help with the GM search and then go on their way is way different than having a football Czar in charge of all Football decisions eseentially turning your GM into a yes man.
Want consultants that come on and evaluate football program and then help in GM search that once GM is in place they are gone, then i can get on board.
You want a Czar like Parcells was or Tannenbaum is now in MIA. Then nope i wont get on board.
-
I can't imagine he'll be our HC after this season if he even lasts that long. We could realistically be heading into the BYE 1-8 or 2-7 after being embarrassed by the Seahawks on MNF.
Yep i agree. Rex and his circus needs to go.
NFLN killing Bills for this decision
-
Still waiting for people to show me a successful team that had this mythical Czar
-
What football philosophies to the pegulas possess? They are green and need help. This whole rex ryan disaster proves that. Nobody in the organization currently should be providing the sorely needed help.
Maybe they should have ignored Brandon when he said dont let Rex out of the building and listened to Whaley Hugh Jackson would have been the HC
-
Writing on the wall. Rex feeling pressure and instead of touching his boys or his family he goes and fires people on the side of the ball he knows nothing about.
Rex needs to go if you want the Bills to be a good football team.
From ESPN:
Lynn is the fifth different offensive coordinator to work under Ryan in the past six seasons. After the Jets finished 8-8 in 2011, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer was replaced by Tony Sparano for the 2012 season. Sparano lasted just one season before being replaced by Marty Mornhinweg in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Now Ryan has had two different offensive coordinators in two seasons as the Bills' head coach.
-
There is no reason to Hire a Czar.
Either let your GM hire the guy (would have been Hugh Jackson)
Or replace the GM and let him hire who he wants.
And when Brandon calls you and says dont let someone out of the Building IGNORE HIM
-
Plenty of succcessful offensive coaches have combined the power run with good aggressive passing attacks- Sean Payton, Kevin Gilbride, Jay Gruden and Bruce Arians spring immediately to mind. There's no way to know for sure whether Lynn is another Roman, or brings the whole enchilada to the table for consumption until we have some actual data points.
Its fun reading all the opinions, that's what we're here for, but it is an opinion, for now.
He has been with Rex the entire time from Jets on. So during those times has anyone actually seen an aggresive passing attack.
No, reason being that is NOT what Rex wants. You could have Chip Kelly as the OC and you are going to still see the 1970s offense Rex wants to run seeing he is the HC
-
Here is my question has any team with a Football Czar actually been successful?
-
2 and 14.
I dont see more than 2 wins on this roster the way the team is playing.
-
I have no issue with Pegulas talking to players to check on HC and such.
Rex said this was his move which does go right along with Rex history or pressure on thibgs bad fire the OC.
Not to mention Roman was not one of Rex boys or family ala Donnie Henderson as well.
I need Rex gone this team is doing nothing with him as HC
-
No it doesnt sound like ripping the Bills. But also people need to understand that NDSU does get the best players in the FCSI hope this doesn't sound like I'm ripping the Bills, bc I don't mean it that way....
Any coach that can maximize the talent (even lesser talent) is a coach that I want coaching my favorite team!!
So.it is no different than the Big Time schools like Bama and such.
-
How do you know? Maybe Lynn believes in easy passes on 1st down.
Read about him. He is Ground and Pound.
-
How is that different from Roman? Didn't he just keep running the ball when everyone know we were going to run? How is forcing the issue in the run game supposed to get the ball to your playmaker Watkins?
It doesnt. All that get the ball to playmakers stuff at PC was just PR crap. It goes in direct conflict with promoting Lynn as OC
-
Jeez. Pegula needs to hire someone who has a clue and stay the !@#$ away.
He doesnt do that. He likes interacting with players ie Sabres.
-
Couldn't hurt, knows how to lead a team that is for sure and with out 4 and 5 star recruits.
Maybe he doesnt get 4 and 5 star recruits but does get the best players at the FCS level to go there.
-
there will be change, will it be enough ?
How does a run 1st offense change, the offense is installed. All that happens is different playcalling.
Still doesnt change the fact this is a 1970s offense designed to hide an AVG at best QB
-
I like Patricia
Smart - a Engineer
Has been running that Patriots Defense since 2010
Alot of speculation he will replace BB when Bill hangs it up.
I would be all over having him as a HC.
Only thing that he doesnt check a box for me is a previous HC, but learned under the Best
-
Good maybe the faster Rex is gone the faster this team gets moving forward
-
Sometimes change is good.
Lets roll with that for now.
There is not change. It will be the sMe offense as Roman Ran. Trying to hide a 92m QB instead of feature him and say is he worth that 27M next year or are we walking away
Anthony Lynn, new OC

Ok honeslty Rex even said as much. The offense is installed. Lynn is not going to change the 1970s offense one bit. Just gonna call plays a little different.
But the mentality is set by the HC so as ling as he is here i feel for those that think they will see a modern NFL offense
True but most get to install their offense. Correct? So how will an installed offense with a Run first coach change in 10 days
