    A couple things.

    1.  volume of picks and value of picks are different things.    You would rather have a 2 vs a 5 and 6.

    2.  This is often not understood....you trade contracts as much as players.   The Texans are taking a toxic/crap contract off the Bills hands.  So yes they are getting a player but it comes with a high AAV for them also.

    3.  Diggs is over 30

Wait until Diggs does his yeah I need a new deal on this and kills the Out that Houston has after this year.  Because that is still coming

so we endured months of misinformation from so many sources telling us this was "impossible financially"

and POOF..... there is no Diggs $ on our books after this season.  All it took to do that was an extra 3.2 million hit above what he was already accounting for

And I am fine with it.  No more bandaids to run it back with the older core again.  Reset that cap in one year and move on.  I still have the AFCE as the Bills to lose.

We've all heard the stories, but, ya got proof on this bull####, or do you just enjoy using the internet?

Ahhh if there only was Social Media and Internet in the 90s with those Bills teams.  Josh's "rumors" would be Saint like.

There are some interesting names there to pair with a rookie (that you might want to trade up for).

You have to think this went into Beane's decision making process.

I also am really not going into the WHO is WR for the next 6 months. like occurred with MLB.  For all we know Justin Shorter development is what also allowed Beane to say OK.  Very similar to Bernard and Edmunds.  I also think Shorter development plays a part and the sheer number of WRs in this years draft.  This would be the year, reset the cap all in one year and keep moving.

  5. Also Remember this RedShirt (Shorter) has been with the Bills all year, so they would know where his development is more than us.

    SCOUTING REPORT: STRENGTHS

Has long arms to stiff-arm defensive backs in the open field. Willing to lower his pads to run through tackles for extra yardage. Goes over the middle, can spin out of tackles and take the big hit.

He’s a precise route runner, creating separation when used on quick outs and stop patterns in college. Shorter has good stop-start ability and lateral agility.

He tracks the ball well downfield and consistently runs under long throws.

Shorter runs precise routes, showing an innate feel for setting up defensive backs to create separation.

He’s broad-shouldered, long-limbed and a smooth athlete who showed the ability to make plays downfield.

An impressive athlete with very quick acceleration to reach his top speed quickly and stretch the field. Very good body control and smooth movements. Plays fast and explosive.

A fluid mover capable of creating some separation over the middle of the field, Shorter has the long arms and soft hands to provide a sizable catch radius.

    SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES

He’ll be coming to the NFL from a wide-open spread offense in which Shorter ran a limited route tree.

Shorter also lacks suddenness as a route runner, and that is a potential issue at the next level.

He’s not going to threaten to take the top off of a defense.

That begs the question, can they produce 2x 1000 yard WR's? He won't be happy with anything less, that's for sure.

There is an argument that Nico and Tank Dell are both better than him at this stage.  It will be interesting to watch what happens with him down there.

  7. I am fine with the trade. Diggs play dropped off at the end of last year. Last 100 yard game was what week 6.

I am fine doing the complete cap reset and retool ala Chiefs it was gonna happen. Would have liked for the trophy but the core now broken up wasn’t good enough to get it done.

I am ok moving on from a WR in a draft that has a lot of WRs. And Minny second should be what projects to be a High Second. And cap is reset.

might hurt the offense initially but I still see the AFCE as ours to lose at this point.

Back up to 3 (4 Max)

    4th, 5th, and 7th.

    Still outstanding Contract Terms

Poona Ford - Unlikely to Qualify

Dodson - I think this will be a qualifying contract

Last two that MIGHT get a qualifying offer

    Hyde

Kyle Allen - QBs even BUs tend to sign above the qualifying number (just depends if he does before the deadline)

  9. They start their move to a QB.

In Context March 12th 2018 Buffalo Bills Trade 21 and Cordy Glen to Cincy for No 12.  That 12 combined with a couple 2ns turned into 7, which well turned into the Alien.

Everyone watched that 200 yard, 4 TD playoff performance and thinks it carried over.

Yep, and that performance never came close to replicating or even maintaining a steady able to count on performance week to week.

  11. One other thing about Samuel that allows and I am sure it has been mentioned.  Is now you do not have to panic in the draft and trade up for an Elam because you had no other option.  This preserves their flexibility in the draft and takes the pressure off getting that NO 2 WR at all costs and making a costly trade in draft because you get worried at the drop off on your board.  Samuel will allow you to go to that next tier of WRs that you have as future No1 but need development.

My only concern is James "Ronnie Harmon" Cook

Now you do not need James "Ronnie Harmon" Cook running that wheel route, Samuel can do it, has done it, and there is a clip of him running that exact route in the thread.
