  1. I loved what we did in the 1st round. What we did then by trading back and stock piling picks gave me hope the rest of the draft would unfold a similar way. This team isn't in a position to compete as things stand, and I love the flexibility of stock piling picks in next year's draft due to the opinion that it should have a couple very good quarterbacks. Given the state of the roster my preference is to stock pile a bunch of young talent. The last few drafts have netted us next to nothing in terms of young players and going all in on 3 guys this year seems shortsighted in my eyes. The Bills drafted to fill specific holes this year, as opposed to drafting BPA and planning for the future 3-4 years down the road.
  2. Pretty sure Mike Glennon just signed a big contract as a free agent and EJ signed a one year deal for $800k with no guaranteed money.
  3. Exactly!!!! Every year the fans assume our top 3 picks will start, yet that's never how it plays out.
  4. Yup. Every year I'm critical of the Bills and every year they fail to make the playoffs. This team has never valued its depth. Year after year we ignore our key backups and every year our season goes off the rails due to injuries or suspensions.
  5. Late round picks aren't for filling holes. Draft guys with upside regardless of position.
  6. Fair enough. I've been excited about too many Bills draft picks only to watch them fall flat to assume they'll all work out. If all 3 guys become solid starters this will be a good draft, I'm just not even close to ready to assume that'll be the case.
  7. Again, why are you guys assuming that the guys we've picked will all be impact starters?
  8. Why on earth would you assume the guys we picked will all be "solid starters"?
  9. No. I don't think they want to be bad, I just don't think they're going to be very good. We have no depth. When we lose 5-6 starters like we do every year, we're going to have 5-6 gaping holes on the field.
  10. I don't need the instant gratification of a contribution this year. The Bills have holes all over the depth chart and their depth is non-existent at pretty much every position on the field. The Bills should be planning for the future, but they've acted like a team who thinks they're a couple pieces away. Like I said, we have nothing in reserve at RB, WR, TE, OL, DE, DT, LB and DB. An NFL roster is more than the 22 starters.
  11. I think that might be the unintended consequence of tonight's draft strategy.
  12. Exactly. People can talk about the holes we have, but has anyone actually looked at our depth? We're barely one deep at a couple spots on the depth chart, let alone deep enough to overcome a couple injuries. Beyond our starters we have nothing at RB, WR, TE, OL, DT, DE, LB, CB and S. The Bills needed to load up on young players and look long term and they've done the exact opposite.
  13. I can't help but be critical of the Bills draft strategy. They've recklessly filled needs for next season, while neglecting our ability to field a quality roster years down the road. This was the type of year we needed to walk away with like 10 rookies who can contribute this year and improve our depth for years to come. Instead we've given up draft capital for the sake of filling holes and the result will likely be yet another season where we're unable to overcome injuries because we rely on washed up vets and UDFAs to fill out the roster because we only added a couple rookies. The Bills were not 3 players away from competing for a playoff spot and what they've done tonight is very shortsighted. We should be refilling our pipeline of young talent and instead we appear to have put all our eggs in a few baskets (White, Jones, Dawkins).
  14. 163, 171, 195. We don't pick again for 100 picks...
  15. Nope. We have 3 picks left. 100 picks will take place before we pick again. LOL
  16. Yup. We went into this draft with holes all over the roster and we're going to walk away with 6 players. The Bills' unwillingness to value their draft picks seriously bothers me. Teams like New England and Seattle constantly add picks while we give them away. Trading up and giving up picks is rarely a good idea and we did it twice tonight.
  17. And our 3rd. We don't pick again till the end of round 5. We're going to walk away from this draft with 3 meaningful players. Given how many holes we have I don't see how anyone can be excited about this.
  18. Jeez. So our draft is essentially over. We just gave up 3 picks. We don't pick again till the end of the 5th round. Someone should tell McDermott this team isn't a few pieces away from contending.
  19. We traded again? OMG Giving away even more draft capital.
