I mean... good for both of you, I guess?

Whether you were someone who did or didn't though - it doesn't change the fact that we couldn't use two roster spots on Punters for two years and deal with the media distraction all the while. Everyone on this board and fanbase could have said nothing at all, it wouldn't have mattered.

The result would have been the same, any way you slice it, with any team that drafted him.

People like you are the reason why there was a media distraction. Nobody was willing to apply the slightest amount of critical scrutiny to a story that was shady af from the very beginning.

You can sit on your high horse in hindsight and judge everyone around here.

Thanks -- will do. A whole bunch of people on this forum fell for a fraud, and people like me were telling them that at the time. I'm sure that thread still exists somewhere.

Tried to do this from memory. If it was consensual, what theory was her attorney pushing?  Was she drunk?  In any event, a 22 year old having sex with a 17 year old isn’t a great look.  I’ll repeat.  No way the Bills were going to do anything other than cut him after the allegations came out.

"Not a good look" is never a reason to get the pitchforks out.  Come on now.

There was ZERO chance Bills were doing anything other than cutting him once the allegations were made.  Remember the allegations?  Having non consensual sex with a minor?

Remember the Bills were consensus favorites to win the Super Bowl going into that year.  There was again zero chance of keeping him on the roster and have the daily distractions stemming from having an accused rapist on the team.

Was it fair? Of course not.  Is it insane that he signed with our arch rival?  Of course it is.  But it’s the Bills. Another brick in the wall.

Araiza had a consensual sex with a 17 year old.  That would have been perfectly legal in NY and many other US states.  It was technically illegal in CA, but of course he wasn't charged with anything in relation to that because nobody prosecutes stuff like that.

  5. I wonder if other fanbases have to deal with stuff like this, or it's just a Josh Allen thing.

I mean, obviously it was fine to target the guy breaking open in the end zone.  Allen makes that throw 9 out of 10 times if Dawkins holds his block just slightly better.  People who complain about this are demonstrating either (a) very low football IQ or (b) a willingness to say stupid stuff just to get engagement.

  6. The old format with 6 teams was better.  Teams like the 2023 Steelers shouldn't be in the playoffs, and the regular season is more enjoyable when the stakes of each game are higher.

Obviously the NFL would add an 8th team before it switched back to the old format, and I would also prefer that over the current awkward system.

There’s always been two ways to view today’s Bills. Group No. 1 views this as a team with a balled-up fist banging on that Super Bowl door, bound to knock it down. This is how the organization is sold at press conferences. Group No. 2 sees a window closing. Group No. 2 knows the quarterback cannot ***** souls forever and — correctly — wants to see coaching and management that maximizes Josh Allen while he’s Josh Allen.

Dunne is 100% right about this, a bunch of people in this thread have their heads buried in the sand.

Maybe the best approach at this point is to stick with McDermott and hope that we luck into a super bowl.  It's possible.  If we make the playoffs every year, there's a decent chance that the ball will eventually bounce our way a few games in a row.  That's not a totally unreasonable strategy.  But Dunne is right that we're being coached by Marty Schottenheimer, which would be a-okay if Tyrod Taylor was under center, but it feels kind of criminal when we have a HOFer in his prime.

    Top needs:

    1. WR

    2. WR

    3. S

    4. WR

    5. DT

I think we need multiple WR's. We need a burner and we need a #1b. Diggs looked like poo, we need someone with the potential to replace him within 2 seasons.

This.  I mean, there's always a need for OL and CB, but WR and to a lesser extent S need to be our top priorities.  We should ideally come out of the draft with at least two new WRs.

  9. We lost a bunch of games against inferior opponents, scraped by against a few bottom-feeders, beat a depleted team in the WC round, and lost at home to a rival.

Wasted season.  This would have been fine if Allen were still a 2nd-year player.  Instead, we're wasting this guy's career.

If Allen isn't hit, it's a clear TD to Shakir.  None of this **** Show is on Allen.

Way too many people are taking Tony Romo's off-the-cuff analysis as the undisputed truth.  The decision to go to Shakir was fine.  He was available, and we've seen Allen make that throw too many times to count.  Unfortunately he got hit and it didn't work out.

  11. The result of this one particular game was due to injuries on the defense.  I don't fault McDermott for it.

I do fault McDermott for losing a bunch of gimmies earlier in the season.  They ended up not mattering, but each of those losses was unacceptable and there were several of them, along with some close calls (Giants, Patriots).  I don't think McD can get us over the hump, and I'm ready for somebody new.  Obviously that isn't going to happen -- just stating where I am as a fan.

  12. Anybody complaining about the roughing call just doesn't know what they're talking about.  That's drawing a flag every single time, and you see at least play like that every week if you watch non-Bills football.  There's just nothing at all controversial about that one.  Yes, Josh occasionally draws the soft personal foul, but that wasn't one of those.

We got the playoffs, we got the second seed, we got the home field advantage, we got the seventh seed team, but we still keep on worry very much, too much !

I mean, not that it would be a cake walk, but damn, we play at home, we have Josh Allen and they have Mason Rudolph, they are without their best player TJ WATT, but we still here in panic mode.

I really dunno: do you think, honestly, that the Chiefs fans, 49ers fans, Ravens fans, Eagles fans, etc, would they feel so worried like us for playing the TJ WATTless Steelers at home? I don’t think so.

So tell me, where start all this worry, all this fear about the sunday game ? Is that truly justified ?

Our online fan base is kind of toxic. You'll enjoy the games better if you keep the fans at arms length, or at least be very selective in who you choose to pay attention to.
