Clayton has never played a single down of organized football at any level. Heavens. Watch his work out though, OMG! Line THAT dude up at WR, no one will cover him!
I wonder if he might convert to TE. Dude is huge and can run. Rather than beef him up and teach him to block (which rugby doesn't do) drop 15 pounds off him, get him even faster, and have a tank of a TE. He's used to running with the ball.

Good with this. Mitch gone, and guys on the panel seem to think he can start day one.
If he's center only, and doesn't long snap, it's hard to make the team unless he's starting. They aren't carrying a pure backup center.

Is it just me, or are there fewer small school guys being picked in the draft this year? Teams like Georgia and Washington have pretty much every starter drafted now.
Those smaller school guys are often able to transfer to bigger schools before they finish college football

Why did the Bills do all that work on Franklin and then not take him?
Maybe they did the work and then concluded they didn't want him.

The league took a big step towards going back in time to where being a bully wins games last season. I think we're finally seeing a blunting of the passing game as teams start to want to run the ball to keep the other offenses off the field.
A question is, will the modern rules permit defenses to adapt to that style of play. Can't hit "defenseless" receivers, can't hit QBs really at all, more difficult to tackle people from behind at all since you can't grab anything near the neck or shoulders or land on people's legs, etc.

Get the pitchforks ready. Think we go Dejean mustard. McD got a ***** in his pants already.
DeJean would be very good on this defense. Versatile guy, makes a lot of plays. Gives you a lot of options in coverage.

Because people believe 2 "unnamed scouts" who trashed him.
And also because he was relatively unproductive over 3 years at two different, very successful, college programs. He had one good year. He's far from a slam dunk choice.

Unless you can show conclusive evidence that he is not managing it adequately it’s not an issue in my opinion. Is it possible? I suppose. But unlikely. Have to go with the null hypothesis here.
It's pretty widely discussed. Other than the kid coming out and saying it IDK how to provide what you ask for.

It’s almost certainly type one insulin-dependent diabetes. Young athletes in good shape are not candidates for type two. Also, managing IDDM is much easier with current medical technology. I don’t see this as a major issue. If he has character issues it’s very unlikely they’re related to his diabetes
You're right. It is easier to manage. That's why if it's currently poorly managed it begs the question why.

Agree, If he is a type 1 diabetic(which I don't know 1 or 2, havent looked into it other than message board banter)... if he isn't managing it well he would not be able to do anything at an optimal level which he has shown let alone live very long. Most people dont understand the difference between type 1 and type 2
It's type 1.

Adonai Mitchell is interesting. Some of the attitude concerns seem to be linked to his lack of management of his diabetes. I’ll be curious if the Bills think they can manage that. Because if they can he’s an unbelievable athlete.
For any of the film gurus on the board I am curious is Franklin plays faster than his combine time.
If he's not managing that given what he does, with the resources of two different major football programs with all the resources a player could ask for that speaks to a lack of maturity as much as anything else. It's not about the Bills managing his diabetes, it's about him managing his diabetes. Could he start? Sure. Why would he begin now if he hasn't already?

Must be why people are so mad about the trade…they didn’t realize we got anything in return lol
I mean, we didn't get a ton, but it's more than zero and Beane clearly had a hardon for that 3rd the league boned us out of.

After the trades - they have 2 2nds, a 3rd, and a 4th - plus a bunch of 5ths - 7ths.
4 5ths, 1 6th, 1 7th.

The Bills have no 3rd draft picks.
Two 2nd round draft picks, one 4th round pick and pretty much the entire 5th round of picks.
This is ...not accurate.

Probably has the ammo to pick twice in the second now if he wants it
We already own two second round picks now so, yes? I don't think that's what you meant though.

yes he did - but he dissed all his other picks too.....don't cherry pick.
He did?
"Shakir averaged 36 yards per game last year, so I wouldn't point to him as this major coup of a pick.
Buffalo's best draft pick used on a WR in 6 drafts is a 4th on Davis. And he was so good they let him walk in UFA.
McBeane have found most of their production from UFA or trades at the position in a league which prioritizes them in the draft."

Shakir was hardly used early on so the stats are skewed. Davis?
Lets talk at the end of the year. If Allen couldn't get he best out of him you think Horsey Face is? I'm thinking a big no on that one. J-Ville is reaching and paying.....the Bills used to be that team too.......
Oh and players like Tre, Milano, Dawkins, Allen, Oliver, Knox, Espensa, Kincaid, Cook, T. Johnson, Benard, etc are asking you WTAF?
Dude did say best pick used on a WR.

They have 2 second round, a third and fourth, 4 fifth rounders and a sixth and seventh. Other NFL types said it is a deep draft. I trust them thank you.
I know what they have. They have 3 more choices than the minimum and they didn't acquire any of the extras today. It's a deep draft in certain positions. WR being one of them. Overall it's not.
I doubt they use all of those 5ths on players, I'd expect them to be packaged up to move up and I doubt they keep the 6th or especially 7th. They will try to flip them for picks next year or include them in other trades as in a 5th to get up into the 4th. Something like that.

Well, supposedly he is good now. I suppose you'd have to be convinced he can be durable in the NFL, but I think he is healthy. I live near Athens, and love the guy. I really think he can be a volume receiver year one.
I don't dislike the player. I have a Kevin Bacon style connection to him and it would be nice to have him. Backs are scary though.

Now that I have had time to step off of the ledge, I think that he tried to trade up into the top ten for Odunze, When that failed, he wanted Thomas. When he was taken, he had no one left with a first round grade. Better to not reach and get some additional ammo. I don't expect that they will take that late third. I think that they will use that and 60 to trade up in the second. Who they pick at what position I have no idea.
They might try to package up some 5s or move that 4 up, but they will keep the 3.
I also think they flip any 6s or 7s they have left by that point into futures next year.

Ridiculous that all the press are still waiting at the stadium and the Bills won’t say if or when Beane will speak tonight.
That's pretty crap, but the man does have a job to do and I'd imagine they are still pretty busy right now.

Seriously, Shakir and Samuel, who is a plus gadget guy? That's the best currently in our WR room. Beane has to add. It's terrible right now, and an absolute disservice to Josh Allen. I still like Mitchell and McConkey. I'm not high on Coleman and Franklin, though some are. Might be a draft choice and a veteran that is available.
How is McConkey's back? It was an issue all last season.
