I also think he's a lock for the practice squad. Flashing repeatedly. Looking forward to seeing him in the next preseason game
I'm a sucker for a LB who likes to hit and isn't afraid to throw his body around. Jimmy seems to understand what his meal ticket is right now. Let's see if it pays off for him.

My best friend was like that growing up. He was a Miami fan and yet never even went there once. He would go out of his way to bash the Bills to try to be different and cool. They definitely still exist, but not nearly as many since the Bills are the “cool” team to root for.
Mine too. He has since come around. He actually apologized. LOL

According to whom? We don't know what the development plans and expectations were for Olofoshio when they selected him in Round 5 last year. No one knows how long or how short his rope is with the team.
It seems a pretty common practice around here for Day 3 Drafted players to be led to the gallows by posters after only one season if they haven't made an immediate impact as Rookies. When it's unlikely that they will, being Day 3 Picks.
I'll never forget multiple respected posters on this board calling for Khalil Shakir to be cut for Andy Isabella after his Rookie year bc "what has Shakir done to earn a roster spot?".
Long story short, he could be cut. But he could just as easily be given more than one season to see if he develops. It all depends on what they're seeing with him behind the scenes.
It's usually pretty easy to figure out. When is the guy playing in the PS? Early in the game or at the end?

Crazy that the Spurs drafted a player 1st overall at age 22 knowing he wasn't gonna be able to play for 2 seasons. Not sure if that would happen in today's NBA or any of the major leagues. But Robinson had a Hall of Fame Career so it was the right decision to wait the 2 years.
Crazier that the Navy put David Robinson on a submarine. He served on the USS Buffalo btw.

I know McD has said that safety “is the most challenging position to learn in our defense.” And I remember that quote because it took me by surprise. I would’ve thought MLB was the most challenging with all its responsibilities.
You are correct, I misremembered what he said. However, being the most challenging position to learn doesn't give me a lot of warm fuzzies that it's going to be fixed soon. Bishop has missed so much off-season time in his first two years that it has to have stunted his development. They brought in Forrest and he's apparently lost. They drafted Hancock and McDermott has already said they are trying not to overload him. Even if they brought in Simmons (which I don't think they will), how quickly can he pick up what they are trying to do?

That doesn't concern you tremendously?

Think I read somewhere the Buffalo head from this outfit still hangs above a bar somewhere in WNY
Legend is somebody hit it with a '74 LTD. They mounted the head and ate the rest.

C'mon, man.
In the 100+ year history of football, there has never been a defense where safety was anywhere near the most important position.
In the vast majority of defenses it's probably one of the 2-3 least important positions.
I'm pretty sure that's out of McDermotts mouth but I don't have a quote handy. Brian Dawkins was 100 percent the most important player on Jim Johnson/McDermott era Eagles. There not even a close #2.

Bad sign for Bishop:
With one week left in the PS this is a disgusting comment. Safety is probably the most important position in McDermott's defense and to not have 2 guys identified at this point is a tremendous problem.

Unless pocket looks like the savior, but somehow Flacco looks better than that even…. You have to protect sheer upside of the young guys, even if long shots. Pickett or Huntley will likely be around if you need to call them because Flacco got hurt.
I'd guess they'd bring back at least one vet on the PS just to have another veteran voice in the QB room to help Flacco prepare each week

The Browns just named Flacco as their starter.
Who of Pickett, Gabriel, Sanders, and Huntley will stay? Certainly no more than 2 of those 4 right?
You also wouldn't think it would be Flacco and two rookies though I guess that's possible.

I think it’s down to VDM, Lundt, and CVPG…gotta say I’d probably go with the rookie Lundt and hope they can put the other two on the PS. VDM filled in well at tackle but that’s the only position he plays, and CVPG has missed all of camp. Thoughts?
CVPG can still go on the PUP list because he hasn't practiced at all yet so that's an easy stash. My concern with keeping Grable over VDM is health. Neither Lundt nor VDM showered themselves in glory tonight but if it comes down to it VDM is very tradeable. He can play, has some decent tape in the league, and plays a premium position. To be perfectly honest I'd like to find a way to keep both of them. You hoard tackles when you have them. If you need a guard it's much easier to get a serviceable guy midseason and you can probably stash one or two on your own PS. You cannot get a LT off the scrap heap in November and if you cut a decent one, someone will sign them.

Tonight is what you get when you have Mike White and to a lesser extent, Mitch as your starting QBs. You get outgained 528 yards to 180.
Going into tonight I would have considered our OL depth to be a significant strength. They certainly didn't look like it tonight.

Who was that with the towel draped around his head and Bills teammate comforting him. Looked shaken / shivering. 31 or 81? Injury?
Well, 31 is Hairston and he wasn't dressed so that makes it 81 which is Kaden Prather

I’ll be honest, a team is allowed to do what they want but I’m kind of annoyed that the Bears have brought the house on defense numerous times in a preseason game that the Bills clearly gave no care about. They have been doing it all second half on the Bills grocery baggers
The Bills blitzed a ton also. You'd never know it because they act as though their job is to actively engage the blockers, but they sent 5, and 6 several times in the first half.

I feel like the Bills read this board then make a plan for pre-season games. "Oh, you like <insert backup/fringe player here>? Let's show you why that player won't make the team for the next 3 hours."

If you think this week is bad, wait until next week when they are playing someone they face again in the regular season.

Just friendly reminder that these guysxweee playing the bears starters on offense with zero game plan - outside of someone making extraordinary play there is very little takeaway from this - except van demark seems in trouble
D-lineman can win battles. They aren't.

I find it very very interesting that Epenesa is now in the game even after the other guys and didn’t see him the first two series. Either he is in there because someone got dinged or he’s fallen down the depth chart
Which is horrifying because nobody else has done anything.

vandemark moving early every snap.
That's an issue between him and Feeney and since Van Demark has been here significantly longer I'll choose to assign at least half of that to Feeney.

He was a CB in high school.
He ran 4.66 40 so that 100% qualifies him as a safety on this team.
