  1. It works, I haven't paid for Superfan yet and I have all the games in HD. Ask for the Customer Retention Department if the flunky you're talking to isn't budging. I've talked to them, told them that I am a loyal subscriber and really don't want to change back to cable but have told them that it's just costing too much and they gave me Superfan for free and my HD service ($9.99 I think) for free ever since I've upgraded to HD two years ago. DirecTV will work with you on the other services and fees as long as you pay for your regular service and Sunday Ticket. They really do have a pretty good customer service department once you get past the first flunky that answers. Just be patient, it's worth it.
  2. I've had DirecTV and the Sunday Ticket since I moved to Florida in 1996 and believe me, it's worth every penny I've spent on it. Let's just say on average, going out to a Sports Bar, that you spend $30 per game, which is terribly low, it would cost you $480 per season just to go out and catch every Bills game. Obviously, there is the cost of having the basic DirecTv package, roughly $40 per month plus the $250 for the Ticket. Overall, the price is worth it plus when Jauron pulls some dumb a$$ stunt, you start drinking more and the Bar Tab goes up along with the DUI possibilities. I say get off the wallet and get the package. It's worth it in so many ways.
  3. Are there any Bells still around or were they all bought out by Quality in the early 90's or whenever it was?
  4. I can't agree more. I wish that my kids didn't wake me up so early on Sundays though, there is to much time before the game that I start pacing in anticipation. It's actually going to suck a little this year because of the number of 4'Oclock games. All that time prior to kickoff is going to be nerveracking, except of course the Opener and Cleveland games, that I will be attending.
  5. This could get very interesting.....I'm thinking steel cage or some sort of squared circle. By the way GOBILLS78, I was at that Cardinals game in '90. Had season tickets in the tunnel endzone at the time and anyone who sat at that end of the stadium for that game and stuck it out is a diehard. That had to be one of the worst weather days, if you factor in overall sh-- from early in the morning to the end of the game. Breezy with a light rain by mid buzz (10am), getting colder, low 40's by good buzz (noon), much colder, windy, heavier rain just after kickoff and then SLEET with high winds!! Obviously the Cards weren't ready for that kind of weather. It just got uglier as the day went on but had to be one of the funnest games to be at, if you were prepared for the weather. Gotta love the good ole' days when the Bills team actually used the hometown weather in their favor.
  6. Great Thread!! Things that I miss have all been mentioned but some that stand out: Bills season tickets - N3 Row3 seats on the aisle going to Sabres, Bandits and Bisons games the nice summers, here in Orlando, they tend to be a bit brutal but winters here are amazing all the lawn fetes and beer pumped out of the side of a truck blue light driving down RT 14 and sampling wine from Geneva to Watkins Glen Ziggy's on Main and Eggert, never really a big fan of Mighty Taco all the food, you name it, I miss it, especially a Royal Sub from anywhere, John and Mary's in Cheektowaga was the best all the people through the years that I've tailgated with, it numbers in the hundreds and everyone of them is like family I don't miss the same crap everyone has mentioned The endless winters, weeks without sun the negativity, it still baffles me every time I go back that I still hear the same crap the ungodly high taxes just to support generations of families living off the system the ill informed people who vote for someone because their name sounds familiar The one thing that really gets me though is that my two young kids won't grow up with all the variety of things to do and the close knit neighborhood that I grew up in. I'm from the Cleve Hill area in Cheektowaga and growing up, from sun up to sun down, just about all the kids in the neighborhood were together doing something, either in large or small groups but everyone basically got along and did things together. Buffalo(WNY), for the most part, is a large family spread out over miles but it's a place that we all still call home, no matter where we are today.
  7. Per V-Coach, Cary Harris and Lankster have signed.
  8. What Parking???? Went there a few years back for a game and tailgated in a friggin parking garage filled with mostly Bills fans that couldn't figure out where the hell to park in that Shthole for a city. Miami is just okay. Old Cleveland Municipal was a dump but had character. Where else could you go and sit 100 yards from the field in the end zone and still have better seats than the people on the 50 yd. line. Tampa isn't to bad, lots of atmosphere and tons of "scenery" with very little material covering themselves. The worst I have been in is Jacksonville though. At least Atlanta has parking within flying distance to the stadium. The worst parking at the Ralph is far better than the best parking in Jax. The morons that occupy a large number of games in Jax really make you wonder if they weren't bussing in the fans from the backwoods of Georgia and the Carolinas. The best part of Jacksonville, from a Bills fan point of view, is that when all is said and done on gameday, the most of their own fans that occupy the seats are maybe 30,000. The rest are from the opposing team or tarps.
  9. This is very true. I read the board for a while before joining and still come here most of the time just to read. Just because my post level is low doesn't mean I'm not following TBD, I just don't bother dealing with the BS on here most of the time.
  10. I'm for it if it means bringing back games being played over Labor Day weekend. This BS with the networks determining when the season starts and ends is a load of crap. Also, the increase in active players on gameday would be a bonus and if Jauron is still around when/if this is implemented, he might actually somehow benefit because of the ease of his training camps.
  11. Amen. Until Edwards proves that he is a capable #1, there really isn't a need to worry about #2 because we won't be winning anyway.
  12. This is why I argue with the throngs of Miami fans down here in Orlando, that Marino, as great of a passer that he was, was not a great quarterback!
  13. WOW!! That brings back some great memories. I think I was there for nearly all of the home TD's and a bunch of the road ones too. (left Buffalo in '96) Great times. Amazing arm on that #12 guy. I think we tend to forget just how amazing they were after watching the crap we've been burdened with for the last decade and especially the last few years. I wonder if the current coaching staff even has a play in the playbook that calls for a WR to run a slant or post into the middle like Reed and Kelly made a living doing? I guess you need a QB with an arm to make the throw but even the short dumps into the middle can be made with even Edward's arm.
  14. Sounds pretty right on to me. This year is going to be a put up or shut up year for both the Coach and QB, IMO.
  15. He only made it because he is black. That is obvious and not racial unless you are black. Enough said.
  16. Thanks for the bad news Lori. I was hoping there was an outside chance that an "Empire Sports Network" type of channel was a possibility in the future but that looks very unlikely.
  17. I'm with you on this cursed. I'm here in Orlando and apples to apples, I would take this over Buffalo anyday. Not to say I don't miss back home, this is just a different lifestyle. I'm not saying Orlando is any better, it's just different. If I could afford to commute back for every Bills game, I would but it's only going to be 2 this year. Other than the Bills, Sabres, Canadian Beer, some freinds and a wider variety of local food, there really isn't anything enticing about Buffalo except it's where I was born and raised.
  18. Early on in the season, up to games 10 to 12, this is a great idea. Keep ML fresh until the weather turns then utilize him pounding it the final few games of the season, leading the Bills into the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
  19. That is CLASSIC!! Probably one of the best exchanges in movie history.
  20. If those two run wild for the Bills in games 1-3, TO is probably going to lose it. He will have a meltdown on the field and probably pull a Columbine in the lockerroom.
  21. Lee - 7 TO - 9 Those numbers look awfully familiar.
  22. This is true, dib and LA always have some quality to add to the site but the fact that Numark's has a Bill's logo nicely placed, I have to give him the nod for Best Avatar Ever!!
  23. A4 - B3 - C1 Considering the young players the Bills have in at OLB right now, Harris and Compliance LB, the strategy to move Walker and Butler, the right move would be to shore up the DL considering it hasn't been address except for an UDFA.
