i thought that too until i saw what they did to the chargers. I think itll be worse to the Rams. ol Billy B eats young QB for breakfast. Don't get me wrong I'm pulling for the RAms and hope I'm wrong but i just don't see it happening

so your hypothesis lies in young QBs are eaten alive by Pats***** ? so how come he embarrassed Ol´Phil Rivers and barely escaped the arm of Mahones? ?

I mean, Mahomes is about to be named the MVP in his first season as a starter; I think the writer is probably correct that Buffalo would take that in retrospect.

you said it : ¨in retrospect¨, however life doesn't work that way, let me put you an example: ¨would you root for the Bills back in the late 80s, if only you had known

they were to lose 4 SBs in a row? ...hell no! however in life you make choices based in what you know, with no magic ball to know the future and then live up with

the consequences of those decisions! man-up!

I was happy to see the Steelers beat the Patriots yesterday.  I was also happy to see Brady have to get up off the ground almost every time he threw the ball.

But as I reflect on the past nearly two decades, I can't help but think that Tom Brady and Bill Belichick have earned the right to leave the game as champs.

There's never been any off-field drama or issues.  No broken laws.  They've been, arguably, the most professional organization in the NFL for the past 20 years.  Sure, Belichick's pressers are boring and don't give any information, but I think that's an art and I love to see it.

Brady has been putting on clinics, week after week, for all football fans to enjoy.  We can root for them to lose, but we can also appreciate stellar football, which is what he/team have been putting on display on a very consistent basis.

With the Bills out of it and the Patriots' run clearly coming to an end, I'd like to see them hoist the Lombardi Trophy one last time.  It nets them the last pick in the first round (good for Buffalo) and will likely secure the retirements of Brady, Gronk and Belichick (also good for Bills).

And, frankly .... they deserve it.

Gugny! you are great man! I almost bite the hook, with the ¨last position in the draft for them..." ... no way! c´mon Man, unless you're a Pats***** fan you want to see them in pain until they retire!!

I am glad Allen looks good too, but given any time Allen has a game in which he struggles, we all rush to excuse it with things like “he’s a rookie” and “he has no help” and “the line sucks” don’t you find making a thread like this a little...inconsistent? Isn’t the other guy in a very similar situation? Their offensive line may be even worse than ours. Just asking. If you’re drunk and want to dab on all the imaginary Allen “haters” then go ahead.

That is because they are in very similar situations talent wise, and coincidently thrown out to the wolves without a veteran QB around (unless you consider Bradford a good veteran by any measure), so the comparison is fair, with a ¨so far¨ qualifier to it...

If McDermott doesn't work out here, I think bills fans will have big regrets not hiring him

Come On man! really? ... IMHO we don´t need more regrets as Bills fans! enough is enough! you should consider looking at context before joining the herds of guys in Bills fandom, looking for QBs, HCs, linebackers,  and claiming¨whe should´ve hired¨, once they  prove they are good, let´s move on for good!!

I've seen it said across a few different threads here, and from several different posters, that Allen needs to cut down on the amount that he runs the ball. I've seen a few "he's not long for this league if he does that" type comments.

I'm here to say that I completely and unequivocally disagree. He needs to learn to be more patient and let the plays develop, yes. He can naturally cut down on the amount that he NEEDS to scramble by reading the field better and going through his progressions. But even then, he should not make it a goal to limit or eliminate his scrambling. Indeed, it is precisely his otherworldly improvisatory scrambling ability that sets him apart from most other QBs in the league.

Consider this: In the Super Bowl era, Allen is the ONLY QUARTERBACK EVER to rush for 95+ yards in back-to-back games. And he did this in only the 6th and 7th games of his career. The bind that Allen puts defenses in by having such lethal running ability AND such a lethal arm is hard to overstate. If they choose not to spy him, he'll run wild. If they DO choose to spy him, he'll have extra time to find an open receiver and make the defense pay. This type of double threat is unique, rare, and is what will make Allen a successful QB in this league for a long time.

And as to the notion that he'll get hurt if he keeps running so much? I just flat out disagree. First, the argument that running QBs get injured more often is not really based on fact. Instead, most QB injuries happen IN the pocket, not outside of it. Furthermore, Allen's sheer size should lessen his injury vulnerability. Look at Cam Newton, who is very similar in size and running style. How many games has he missed due to injury in his career?

Bottom line: Allen is dangerous BECAUSE of his running ability. It is not an overstatement to say that he is on track to be one of the best running QBs in the HISTORY of the NFL. His combination of size and speed -- combined with his passing ability -- makes him a unique and difficult player to defend. Any notion that he needs to concentrate on scrambling less or cut it out of his game is just wrong. Aside from the aforementioned natural decline in rushing attempts due to his learning to see the field better, nothing else is needed.

We are dealing with many encountered notions, I find myself struggling to think we can have a QB that is a better runner than Mike Vick or Cam Newton, guys that since they were coming to the league, were considered generational level QBs with great wheels, but in Josh´s case, what amazes me it is not only about his skills challenging tacklers, is the elusiveness he shows and how the defenders look continually frozen when he launches!!

Really strange game to evaluate. I thought Josh was off in the passing game most of the day, but he made a couple of fantastic throws - the second TD in particular - and he made a lot of plays with his legs.

I still need to see more consistency throwing from the pocket. That is how you ultimately win consistently in this league.

pocket???  which pocket??   with soundbites ala Jim Mora....

Really I think it was both.  Not the best pass, but there's dudes out there that would have pulled it off.

I would defer of calling this ¨not the best pass¨, in the context of an accountability discussion, when ¨my QB (Crying and all like TO)¨, did at least 3 OLEEE (bullfighter like) against the furious tuna LBers, before he threw it...Clay was asked to do just one half of that effort, and looking back to the video, I think he tiptoed because he wanted to catch the ball IN THE EZ! instead of going one step out of EZ and pulling the ball back!! IMHO a HUGE mental misstep for an 7.5 Mill-per guy!:wallbash:

Started the season 1-5 and now on a 5 game winning streak, with a 37-5 blowout of McDermott and the Bills included in that streak. The guy can coach. Why the Bills didn't bring this guy in to be their head coach is beyond me. Looking at their schedule it looks like he is heading to the playoffs in his first year and the Colts are going to be the team nobody wants to play. Great job Frank Reich.

Hiring a defense minded coach in the new NFL where offense is King is the biggest mistake made so far by the Pegulas.

    https://buffalonews.com/2018/11/06/letter-bills-made-wrong-choice-by-not-hiring-frank-reich/

No doubt Reich is going to become a great HC! However, for this season at least, one needs to put some context of his success i.e. recognize the impact of a stronger than expected Andrew Luck on his return, as well as something called SOS for the Colts schedule, has had on their current streak...just my 2 cents!

Well by many on this board's logic, 1 playoff year apparently should buy you at least 3 extra years no matter what happens or what direction the franchise seems to be going. So I guess they should all stay.

I dont get the ¨no matter what´ part of your statement...do you think our DST stinks as much as the Jags? I get the offense seems equally incompetent to ours, despite Fournette factor on their side, but...your forcing the cross-read her, IMHO

    First off thanks

If you doubt my travel ....

PM me and I will tell you the numerous countries I have traveled.    then because of where I worked ...  I'll have to silence you.  :D  thats the Shady part of me ;)

I made it 3 weeks w/o drinking water in Mexico City, then one day I ordered a salad with dinner, something I don't normally do.  Montezuma's revenge hit hard that night.   I was working in the Federal District and I stayed at the Embassy Suites Mexico City - Reforma.    Out of 3.5 weeks  I was there I saw the mountains tops circling the city maybe 4 times.

also... if you are a native of  Saddle Hill City Mexico

or a long time worker there you can get conditioned to the water and whats in it.

    Mister ShadyBiilsFan,

Thanks for your time and the nice reply, after reading further it seems to me you´re a defenitively a standup guy , so no need to PM your work and travel credentials!! ?

I am a native here, posting from a location in Mexico -  which I identify with a translated to english artistic sort of name - just to avoid some conversations about politics and culture views, get my football takes of track by some dudes in this board. I Look forward to your posts!

I personally don't think you judge that trade based on how he did after the trade, you take it for what it was at the time. 1st, 4th, and a 6th wasn't a terrible deal for the Bills, and he was a holdout if I remember correctly.  Plus we got Eric Wood with the 1st, right?

Agree, thanks for bringing back what has faded away in this old brain....

Dude eff that. I hate the Jets. I hope we make Darnold look like a joke and Allen throws 6 Tds in his return

There is a reason why Captain´s is the most liked post in the thread! these guys are professionals and can ¨shut´off¨ their competitive juices, even when, from a fan perspective, and even more in the middle of defeat, seems they are bouncing balls from their tummies right intp rival CB´s hands, just to lose!

at the end...there are 2 types of fans, in regards of being easily influenced by such competitive / rivalry spirit or not and this this crazy ideas of ¨tanking is smart¨  ...

Shaw, I am surprised you left out Peterman not throwing a 35 yard hail mary at the end of the half when it was essentially a free play.  Instead he elected to run.  Just the play before he refused to throw the hail mary to end the half as well.  The guy had two chances to throw and end of the half pass and he Trent Edwards the plays instead.

Gunshy maybe?? what you´d expect with thE lynch mob growing every week he throws an INT?

Sad that a highlight at this point in the season is a 5th round draft pick who is probably, like most 5th rounders, not destined to have a storied NFL career.

A 5th rounder?... really? what´bout a low rounder like a guy called Peters? I guess we can´t see diamonds in a rough until we play them a few years, and then ...even worst after we trade them for chump change!?
