i never gave a crap about breaking the drought just to break the drought when entering the season everyone was expecting it be a great draft for QB’s.

We we all saw it coming.

ok, you asked...now, man up to it and recognize 90% of the (still young) poll thinks different to your point...;)

If we had had all these Internet "journalists" pontificating on QBs back then, can you imagine what would have been written.  Here's a couple I thought about:

Terry Bradshaw:  strong arm but inaccurate,  cannot process defenses rapidly enough to survive in the NFL, grades out in the 2-3 round

Fran Tarkenton:  gimmick QB who will not survive his first big hit in the NFL,  has to learn how to throw from the pocket if he wants to play in the league

Feel free to add your own

Great topic oldmanfan! specially for those of us who lived deeply into the two different eras of before / after internet! not only that articular case for the drafts analysis, but for example I couldn't even grasp how would it had been, to come here and read / post during our heroes superbowl run years in the 90s!!

So, I have thought long and hard on the Bills QB dilemma and I believe with one call the Bills can be set for the next 8 to 10 years. The Seahawks are clearly in rebuilding mode. The Legion of Boom is a shell of what it once was and Pete Carroll may even be looking for  way out. I suggest we offer our two 1st round picks and next years 2nd rounder for Russell Wilson. He is a seasoned veteran with upside and youth on his side. The Seahawks are in need of so many positions, this could be a win win situation for both parties.

s&%$t!! another trap post, promising some factual analysis and ending up with a brilliant plan for striping stars from teams, that are already tired of winning with them on their rosters...what´s next???: trade 3 full years worth of drafts for Wenz! !!

The question is. Which 3 of Darnold,  Rosen, Allen, Mayfield or possibly Jackson are the Ben, Eli, Rivers of the draft,  and which 2 are the JP Losman.

Because i highly doubt all 5 of these guys all turn out to be franchise QBS.

right on spot! people knew Eli had the right pedigree and all, however no one was able to predict he would be the only QB to stack up 2-0 versus an already famous (or infamous?) Brady that back then had already gone to 2 Superbowls, tough....

Let's hypothetically say that we don't go QB at 12 (highly unlikely), but let's pretend. Rashaan Evans is my favorite non-QB prospect in the entire draft. Forget Haloti Ngata, I want Ray Lewis. Guy is intense, incredibly explosive, he will be the best LB in the draft and he would fill a huge void on defense.

I like that scenario too, if they for some reason ranging from too steep of a price to trade up  to ¨their guy¨@QB taken too early, need to stay put at 12,

they better get a freakish Defensive guy right there.

If you account for  ~  5 QBs,  ~ 1 RB ,  ~ 2DL, ~ 1DB, (in bold I highlight positions which we don´t need any more)  taken before 12, we are talking about getting one of the 2 top LBs! which has to be a monster pick to me!!! things looking up for our guys!!

How many Super Bowls did Marcus Stroud and John Henderson win?

Got to go for a QB at 12.

Somebody mentioned Ngata a bit earlier...even him was not the key for BAL winning a S Bowl, in MHO it was acombaintion of the ¨lights shut off¨  cooling SFR DST and  non-call interference on SFR in the EZ , otherwise  almost everybody would´ve acknowledged the importance of a QB (Kaep) winning a Lomabrdi...

So, with the AJM signing, does it make sense that we might not go QB with the first pick or even move up? I think there's a chance Vita Vea might still be there at 12. I really think this kid is a once every 10 year draft kind of talent. Does he fill a big need on the defensive line? Or, do you think signing Star Lotulelei eliminated the Bills thoughts on D line in the first round?

    Great topic! thanks!

He's saying that the Browns GM will select a player on future value based on contract money, rather than actual need.  QBs are much more expensive in their second contract than RBs.  So if a rookie QB outplays their rookie contract they save FAR more money than a rookie RB who outplays their contract.

Thank you! Mr. Beane... you explained this very clearly, as the great GM that you are!

Why don't one of you people who strolled on in here and love:

    1) Starting another thread discussed in 5 other ones already

    2) Make the title subject line look as though it is fact (when it is just an idiotic opinion)

    3) Make a topic about trades like a Bills 4th rounder for Drew Brees

Go create your own site and bring all of the people with you who love doing the above.

Seriously, this site is becoming impossible to sift through the crap

POD hands down! I don´t want to even get into guessing if this is more of an issue with the people that emigrated from BB.com board than with  people who was already here, but one can only notice the trolling is getting worse by the day!

This is about becoming a consistent championship contender. Talking about the events that allowed us to sneak into the postseason and put up 3 points isn't relevant.

We had a shot at some superb QB prospects and passed them up. Now it appears that we are going to give up a ton of currency to get a shot at another one.

Time will tell which "process" was the correct one.

TEC, and who can really tell which one of the 2017 and 2018 QB class is going to be better? maybe the difference will be hype, but until we see them all play in the same league, we won´t know...and not only play a full year, but 2 or 3 yrs, how did the Eagles looked back in 2016 for giving a King´s ransom to get Wentz, compared on how the same trade and pick looked in 2017 season?...

I’m sorry if I got too excited for you all, I’m sorry I do this from a phone and not a full sized keyboard and have fat fingers. I won’t apologize for loving the bills and seeking a common forum. I guess I should just enjoy it with friends and family, as I’ve done for years and leave this forum to the uninviting, uninspiring group of internet know it alls that most of you come off as. Best fan base my ass. Just as jaded an vindictive as the next.

Come on Kelsos...you have been only 26 posts to live, and are already tired? that seems too thin a skin to me...before you leave, let me just say you didn´t live up to the player in your screen name, that guy was tough!  good luck! ...

  12. regardless of what ¨a fan base¨ thinks of themselves, it shows who you truly  are  as a fan base, want some examples? I have witnessed what OP states:  I´ve been to games in Arizona, KC, San Antonio (HF for Brees and the Saints in Catrina´s times),  San Diego and Buffalo fans flooded the stadiums, I have been around 5 or 6 true* Pats ***** fans and ALL OF THEM ARE OBNOXIOUS! so you better back up your arguments with facts!

If you honestly think his biggest mistake, after making the playoffs and still having a ton of ammo for a future qb, is keeping Taylor i honestly think you might have been further gone than what I thought. Geez man.

For me it was passing on Watson at 10. Even still I would have wanted them to keep Taylor and let them compete. We now know Watson’s obviously would have taken over.

And fyi... the bills make the playoffs becuz they did what they needed to do through all 16 games and the ravens didn’t. Why do people try to dampen the playoffs whenever they have to make arguments against Taylor? It’s lame and just not a very good look.

One other positive with Taylor being gone is the board won’t have to deal with irrational over the top views and takes about the qb position for a little while.

I agree with you Stank, about the positive you list in the end...however there are still chances we will have a legion of trollers, starting threads here, about how bad (they hope) TT is playing in CLE, so be ready for this board to look like a Browns fan dumping box....

Holy Sh?? Merry Christmas .If the Browns start him this might be one of the stupidest decisions for Cleveland. No wonder they have sucked for two decades....

Hahahahaha! just saw this reply,  from ¨ LABILL-SUPPOSEDLY-BACKER¨ , dude.. now you are going to troll the Brownies for starting TT??  HAHAHAHA! Priceless!! :D
