  1. Oh man, Rubes, I couldn't agree with you more. I can't remember the specific games in the last 3-4 years, but I do remember the instances of 3 and outs (actually, I thought it happened twice ant the end of one game) with a lead late and then we go on to lose the game.

dollars, I think (one of many maybe) that game was versus Raiders, what a frustration to be a fan of a team that looked like hurried 3-0 s, only to give Oakland a chance to surpass us... :wallbash:

  2. Scanning available stats, I found many areas where the Bills did well... Rushing stats were phenomenal... Believe it or not, Many of our stats ranged from good to middle of the pack

    Except one.

Perhaps the one that kept us out of the playoff's for the seventeenth time in a row.

Yes, the D was miserable... But in order to be competitive this one stat MUST change... Note to our QB's -SPRAY IT, DON'T SAY IT!

    + 1

  3. Show me 1 video of Tyrod going 1,2,3, throw. Not 1,2,3, hop, throw or 1,2, Pat throw. You don't know quarterback footwork if you think anything Tyrod has ever done fits that description.

He takes the longest avg time to throw in the NFL at 3.22 seconds which is embarrassing

Wow! I can appreciate your technical read on timing and all of that, until the very last sentence where you use the word ¨embarrassing¨ ... :w00t: .... I understand the frustration of not seeing your starting QB win consistently :bag: and all that, however what is really embarrassing to me, is that you take so seriously a game which - from the fan perspective - SHOULD be fun ...coool down dude!

  4. I was just thinking about the great mistake that the collective fanbase made when Rex was hired, and how we all assumed that our defense would be equal or better than it was in 2014 with him at the helm. This has me reasonably concerned that we are making the same mistake with the offense, assuming that TT and Co will be able to run Dennison's offense nearly as efficiently as they were able to run the Roman/Lynn offense. Where do you think that our offense ends up in the standings this year?

Tenhigh, with all due respect, I think you might be making a mistake yourself, by comparing back to back HC cases, the former being Rex the one that assumed what you state, and the latter being a totally different situation, because we have not heard or read any such assumption from McD about the Offense, and even though we as fans can assume what we want, so what´s your point on being concerned?...

  5.

Yeah, that is interesting. Wonder what Shanahan has planned. Fournette this year and Cousins comes in next year? SF might also be in on Darnold sweepstakes. Imagine Darnold and Fournette with Shanahan calling the plays...

    :worthy:

Not hard for me to remember, just look back to SBLI, Shany got ONE close-to- Darnold in Matt Ice and TWO Fournettes in Freeman and Coleman...and ...well you know how it ended.... :wallbash:

  6. One thing that hit me today - Don't know why I didn't realize this sooner:

Sean McDermott is a system guy.

Sounds like he has his mind made up that he has to run his defensive system. I know some other coaches who think that way. One of them just got fired from the Bills last season.

I guess McDermott is not the type of coach, nor probably has the experience to do so, who can take another team's defensive personnel and create the defense to best fit that personnel.

    Bummer.

That is my first knock against the guy. But it is a significant one. Hope he gets the guys to fit his system. Not the type of coach I really wanted though. So far I like everything else about the guy that I have heard. But a guy stuck on his own system has me very concerned.

    Your opinions?

You seem to be ¨knocking¨ McD as a coach, a lil´bit too early, aren´t you? ...just saying...

  7.

Huge, slightly inaccurate generalization: If you have Arm Strength, Decision Making, and Accuracy, you are a top five pick. If you have Arm Strength, and decent hope for the other two, you are a first round pick and usually are worth less than your draft pick. If you have arm strength and doubts about the other two you are a later round pick. If you have the other two but questionable arm strength you are Drew Brees/Tom Brady, you exceed your draft slot.

EJ definitely paid the price for a lot of the turmoil and stuff, and didn't quite get a fair shake, but at the time of his draft, he was a question mark on accuracy, and a question mark on decision making, which makes him not really a first round pick. He proved those doubters (and most NFL team rankings of him) right, but never improving those two qualities enough to be an NFL QB. I'm not sure what Oakland is hoping for, but clipboard and keeping your starting QB healthy, and EJ seems like a good dude.

    +1

Looks like some of you guys think that the same scout team (or GM for that purpose) that discovered Derek Carr, doesn´t know how to evaluate QBs and signed EJM by mistake ... ok, good he is now gone, that will save a few repeated theads...

  8. I want this guy.

6'4, 252 with room to get bigger and stronger. His test scores were ridiculous at the combine (just like his brother). At that size, a 6.79 three cone and 4.13 short shuttle are insane.

On the old Message Board there was a formula that predicted pass rusher success in the NFL, he winds up the in category of "low risk". He checks the sub 7 second three cone, he checks the twitch rating, and he's on the cusp of cracking the explosive power rating. To put things in perspective, his scores are pretty close to being on par with guys like Demarcus Ware and Von Miller.

Watt's movement skills are truly in elite company relative to other edge rushers. This guy is going to be a 10+ sack a year player in the NFL.

I know Defensive End isn't technically a "need", but if this guy is a perennial Pro Bowler for the next decade (which his test scores suggest is likely), then we should be considering him. I don't care where he's currently being projected, this guy looks like he's going to be a special player who you can build a defensive line around.

This may be a rare case where big bro teaches him skills with success, combined with genetics...

  9. So, welcome everyone - I think. :) I'm going to be honest, I'm fairly nervous about this. We have had over 100 registrations in the last 24 hours and I'm not really sure how this will play out, but I'm willing to give it a shot with your cooperation.

    Brief site history lesson:

My name is Scott and I started this website in September 1996. It was hosted on Geocities and its primary purpose was to advertise for my newly formed Bills Backers Club in Maryland. Being a Mac user, I knew nothing about computers, but I am also an engineer so I just rolled up my sleeves and got to work. I quickly realized that I would need to provide regular updates to the site if I wanted people to visit and help me get the word out. That then changed the focus of the site from a club recruitment tool to an outlet for Bills fans. We were in business for years before the NFL ever thought of starting to get involved with the internet.

In Feb. of 1998, The Rochester D&C had a message board called HyperBills and they shut it down for a month or so, as it had spiraled out of control. Many posters there emailed me asking if I could add a MB feature to TBD. I think I had it up by the afternoon... Those who came - stayed and that's when we really took off. (So, we have been at this for over 20 years and the Stadium Wall just turned 19).

Millions and millions of posts later and deja vu.

    Board Culture:

Although today is probably different from yesteryear, I founded the community with the following goals in mind:

    1. A place that I enjoy being around.

    2. A place where smart adults would be willing to hang. This doesn't mean everyone needed/needs to be an egghead, just that the average level of discourse needed to be high enough not to chase valuable contributors away. I often contrasted us to the old usenet communities that were unmoderated filth that no educated person would ever associate with for any length of time.

    3. That the way I would build this community was neither right nor wrong. Just my way. One of many equally valid ways.

    4. That this community could not serve the needs of every fan. Some may want less moderation, some more moderation. We can only choose one path and we know that it could never make everyone happy.

    5. Cater to adults over kids. No graphics in signatures and other busy layout schemes. In fact, the text based sigs may be going away to make the even design cleaner.

    6. Lightly moderated because the quality of poster we attract wouldn't need to be heavily moderated. In general, if you have a hard time with us - you really have no desire to be a real member of this community. 99% of the members here have never received a warning. Then there are the 1% who have a dozen.

    7. A place where females could feel comfortable (for the most part).

    8. A place that you can load/read at work without being fired for something grossly inappropriate being displayed on your monitor.

Yes, players, coaches and administrators are praised and criticized as each individual poster sees fit. We ask that this is done in good taste. For example, many posters identified Ralph Wilson as being a major part of the organization's dysfunction. That's fine. Discuss it all day. However, openly wishing he would just die was not appreciated and those types of posts were quickly addressed. So, discuss what you wish but try to do it in good taste.

Curse words get filtered and I ask that you don't try to change spellings to get around the filter. Everyone can infer the emotion of the !@#$ word you wrote. You don't need to be explicit to make your point.

The issue we probably have the most trouble with is "crusading". The bottom line here is that there isn't a single poster on this board that has the power to make any change with the team. And because of that, there is no reason to try and make every single person agree with you by bludgeoning everyone with the same opinion endlessly. Make your point once. Make it twice. Make it when appropriate. Just don't make the same point in every thread, every day, day after day. It just pisses people off.

Please don't post racy avatars. This is a work friendly community. In general, if you have to write "NSFW" you should probably not post it.

Note that I hand approve all registrations and sometimes that is slow.

Please do your best to ease yourself into the community. Read more than you post to start. It would be appreciated.

Please leave any BBMB baggage at the door. This is a fresh start for anyone coming here. This would also be GREATLY appreciated.

    That's all for now. Thanks.

Thank you Scott, that was an outstanding recollection of history for this great site! you made me remember of the old Hyperbills site extinction history and how I was lucky to find your board, around my post-Superbowl years urge to look for a trusted source of Bills news, which became later a tremendous experience for a Buffalo Bills fan transplant so far away from Buffalo, with only a fist full of fans like me following the Bills in this lands...I changed many times IDs and I have not posted heavily, but I have been around for 20 years and I really appreciate the work you do!! both as a fan yourself and as an Admin/moderator, i.e. I wish my employer remembered my B-Day as kindly as you do.

Welcome to you fellas from BBMB! I look forward to roam around this site with you,

    Later! Manny

  10. Bob Kraft tried this out last weekend. Suffice it to say, it still needs work:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur25iHgWCYg

Just watched the video and still can´t beleive how of a midget Bob Kraft looks next to Jim Nantz!! hahaha

He made a crap load of $$$ all right. Sure had some "business sense"... But it is all good, no worries... THANX RALPH! While I was ripping off my future team, you were bankrolling them! They sucked back then anyway!

What I am getting @ is Kraft is on record for ripping off the Sullivan's back in the day. He'd use to sneak 8 or 9 people in to Sullivan Stadium under 6 season tickets. Hey... It's how Pats** fans are groomed!

But... It is all okay... Ralph had to bail the Sullivan's out by giving them $$$.

Once a cheat, always a cheat... Think he'd let you sneak more people in today?

    http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2005/0919/122.html

How the crook like to justify it. It was just Ralph's $$$ keeping New England in New England while Krafty the Clown was ripping them off. How they like to justify the cheating "The New England Way" "...They knew all the tricks..." I guess it started early:

    "Unlikely Dynasty

Robert Kraft has used business sense and a fans blind faith to turn the once-laughable New England Patriots into one of the richest franchises in sports.

For Robert Kraft it all started in 1971 on the cold, hard metal benches of a sad-sack football stadium in Foxboro, Mass. Section 217, row 23, seats one through six, says the Boston-born businessman, who would bundle up his four boys and a few of their friends to watch the Patriots lose another game on Sunday afternoons. They would squeeze eight or nine butts into his six season-ticket seats.

We were fans; we knew all the tricks, says Kraft, 64. It hardly mattered how many people sneaked in: The Patriots never sold out Foxboro (then called Sullivan Stadium) and lost hundreds of games on the field and millions of dollars off of it. I used to sit on those benches and dream about what I would do if I owned the team, he says..."

They lost millions off it because fans like you were ripping them off.

He should learn to keep his drunken trap shut in the internet age. Was he lit up when he did this Forbes piece?

Good reason to hate. MY, maybe OURS was bankrolling them.

It is okay to hate where it is warranted.

LoL... NFL is getting cheap w/the hardware... Like WTF!!! Some 7 year old press their Erector Set into service to build that trophy! WOW! One time I side w/the head Cheat!

This got me LOL hard! and at this time in the night, my wife looked at my like...WTF???

  11. My Buffalo Bills (pseudo) fan wife, who already has purchased Christmas Bills jerseys for me and the boys as well as thermal cups and license plate holders for all of us (I stumbled upon her hiding spot), got through almost 5 hours of surgery today, and the doctor came to me while she was in recovery and said the magic word: Benign. That must be the longest sentance I have ever written, but I'm not on my first glass of wine.... so I don't care.

Great news Augie!!!! thanks for sharing!
