  1. I love how all the Allen haters come out of the wood work the minute he has a really bad game. They all just want to be right. Patrick people in my opinion.

    Yes Josh had a bad.

Something is up for sure, I hope its nothing personal.

He was really trying to take those hits today.

So you are saying that Roman's playcalling for Jackson is so mysterious and so complex that no other OC could copy the same scheme in Baltimore?

The combo of Mornhinweg and Jackson went 6-1 last year (after a 4-5 start with Flacco).   That includes nearly 700 yards rushing and 5 rushing TDs.

Yeah he is sooo good lol oh know Lamar watch out!!!

There ya go.  Roman makes marginal NFL QBs serviceable.  I'll agree to that.

You should have led with that...

Lamar must be marginal buddy lol. Your favorite player is trash, haha.

It's such a joke that every year on this site, thread after thread is posted about who on the Bills might make and, after they are announced, who got snubbed.

So you have concluded that the Cowboys do NOT have a roster loaded with talent--particularly on Offense?

Pro bowl was so close to winning them a super bowl.

    https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/01/03/bill-polian-and-two-sirius-colleagues-did-not-vote-lamar-jackson-all-pro/

Bill Polian and two Sirius colleagues did not vote Lamar Jackson All-Pro

"Before the Ravens drafted Lamar Jackson, Hall of Fame General Manager Bill Polian famously opined that Jackson should be a wide receiver, not a quarterback, in the NFL. Polian has since admitted he was wrong, but he’s not ready to admit that Jackson is the best quarterback in the NFL.

Of the 50 voters who chose the Associated Press All-Pro team, 47 chose Jackson at quarterback. One of the three who didn’t was Bill Polian.

So while Polian has admitted that Jackson is, in fact, a quarterback and not a wide receiver, he’s not ready to admit that Jackson is the best quarterback in the NFL.

Polian voted for Russell Wilson, and so did the other two voters who didn’t select Jackson. Interestingly, those other two voters were Pat Kirwan of SiriusXM and Jim Miller of SirisusXM. Polian also appears on SiriusXM. Wilson has been a guest on SiriusXM many times, and may have developed a friendly relationship with the hosts there, but that should in no way influence how those hosts cast their All-Pro votes.

To most, Jackson was an obvious choice. Then again, to most, Jackson was obviously a quarterback, and not a wide receiver, coming out of college."

He voted him in at rb, as he should./s

"At least"<<<< you missed that part.  One went to a superbowl and the other the all important Probowl under Roman.  2 years after he left they both dont have even starting jobs. Lamar is better than both, but I do  expect some decent regression.

Work 3am-3pm after 3-4 hours of sleep and then hang out with the kids on the couch watching the game. The menu will consist of whatever is the easiest to make that keeps them happy. I'm looking at you frozen chicken nuggets.

Throw a pork shoulder in the crock pot & turn it on super low right before you leave for work. All ya need is some buns bbq sauce and coleslaw after that. Easy and much much better football food. Damn, I think I might just do that now, now I'm hungry, lol

In his second and final year with Roman, TT went from 380 attempts to 436 with no change in total yards--dropping his YPA to 6.9 from 8.  His passing TD total went from an anemic 20 to 17.  He was sacked 42 times from 36.  That's not a positive trajectory.  A year later, his decline continued--but it was a modest drop:17 to 14 TDs (1 less start) and 2800 vs 3029 yards.  His rushing yards remained between 425 and 580 and had 4-6-4 rushing TDs.  There's no meaning difference in those years.

TT wasn't nearly the athlete or QB JAckosn is--ever in his college or pro career.  That's the obvious fact that you try to ignore.

Kaepernick was another mediocre producer his whole career.  His best seasons mimicked Taylor's--a guy who has bounced around the league.  In his 3rd season in the NFL and under Roman, which should have been his best, he threw only 19 TDs against 10 INTs, took a whopping 52 sacks (up from 39) and had 1 rushing TD.  They lost 8 games a year after winning 12.   The went from 11th in scoring to 25th.  That's also not a positive trajectory.

He, too, is not nearly as good as Jackson.  So....maybe it's Jackson.

We can go back and forth on this all day. For instance, I could say Lamar has the third ranked Oline this year (with 5 probowlers? on offense). Kap and Tyrod did not even have a top ten Oline and all but 1 season for Kap they were in the bottom half of the league. Not to mention both Kap and Tyrod were at least serviceable with Roman(kap almost won a superbowl) but, within two years of Roman leaving were no longer NFL starters.

I’d be surprised, unless Dorsey is will to put a LOT more weight on character than he ever has before.

Rivera is just like McDermott in wanting character to be the #1 priority. He wants good, high character people, first and foremost.

Yeah Dorsey is a pretty good at scout/talent evaluation, really good at spending money, and really bad helping build culture. Just like some guys should stay as asst coaches some guys should stay in the scouting department.

The rambling in the post sounds like someone that had a couple and is pumped for the playoff game, I didn't realize it was a buffalo news guy until after the post. which makes the ramble even better.

What does how many post I have on here have to do with anything? Didn't realize there was a degree in online message boards being handed out.

I thought this might deserve its own thread

    https://buffalonews.com/2020/01/03/buffalo-bills-nfl-houston-texans-cleveland-browns-brian-daboll-interview/

Jay Skurski, probably paywall, trial available

The Buffalo Bills’ center was asked about the idea that the team's only true identity on offense is that they don’t have an identity, and what that says about the coordinator.

“I think it says he's somewhat of a lunatic, you know what I mean?” Morse said.

Um, not exactly. That requires a little more explanation.

“Lunatic in a good way,” Morse said. “He's just nonstop football. Puts in ridiculous hours. Relays information, divulges information to the players that is pertinent, but understands how to do that in a way that he wants it to and it's about success.”

Morse has named us.  The Bills have the "Lunatic Offense"

I laughed until the dog and the neighbor's dog and the fam and the rabbit all came to see what was wrong with me.  The other neighbor's parrots probably started yelling "WHOOOO!" "Hey ey ey ey" and "Bills make me wanna SHOUT" as learnt during the Steelers game.

I mean, doesn't that just fit?  Here's the football analytics pundits.  Beane and the Bills are crazy to draft Josh Allen.  He's a joke of a first round pick.  "Numbers say" he has less than zero chance to succeed.   Lunatics!  Lunatics I tell you!

We have 2 returning starters on offense.  We're very young.  We have a young QB.  Logic says "KISS, baby, strip it down, keep it simple"

Daboll is the Honey Badger, Honey Badger don't care.  You can DO this!  Yes, it's crazy to think so!  I'm a lunatic!  LETSGO!

"The Bills’ offense is ever-changing. One of Daboll’s go-to phrases deals with how the NFL is a week-to-week league.

“That’s how I’ve been brought up in the business,” he said Thursday as the Bills concluded their practice week ahead the AFC wild-card playoff game Saturday at Houston. “The defenses are different that you're going against. The schemes are different. You try to put together the best plan you can to try to win that game, whether it's run it a bunch, throw it a bunch. Different run schemes, different pass schemes, that's what we try to do. (....) We have our own style and our own system, but the philosophy behind game-plan (specific) offense is something that I really believe in,”

Morse is right.  Daboll is a lunatic.  A total genuine freakin' lunatic.

And then there's Josh Allen.  He's improved, but he can still look freakin' incompetent at times.  Then other times he pulls off ***** that no normal human should be able to pull off: "Oh my goodness!  The QB just....OUT AGGRESSIVED the entire defensive line!"  He makes throws that will spin your head around like Linda Blair on the Exorcist.  We have Knox, who makes 10/10 High Degree of Difficulty stuff then drops the Bunnies.    Our receiving corps is crazy: bunch of tiny Smurfs....who can strip the jocks right off the best DBs in the league.

The playoffs are this weekend, and here we are, #5 seed with a record equal to the division winner we'll face.  Here We Go!

If a cover version could change "Bedford Stuy" alone it would even make a pretty wicked Stadium Player Intro song, actually

Wow, I wish I could start my pre-gaming this early.... You should slow down so you can at least stay awake for the game, lol.

edit: realized this could be the Buffalo News guy.

Jackson was a rookie coming off the bench.  He wasn't asked to pass much therefore

I think it is as equally as likely that we are seeing Jackson as he was in Louisville....Morrhnenwig or Roman.

I just can't figure out what Jackson, as he is playing now, would no longer be able to do without Roman.

*See Tyrod and Kapernick dropoff when Roman left, pretty simple if you don't try to ignore it.

Yeah because all ,they are left with are all those Pro Bowlers and the NFL MVP.  No other OC could ever figure out how to use Jackson like only Roman could.

Yeah it is really easy for others to do it, Mornhinweg really did well last year with Lamar, Kapernick did great when Roman left, & Tyrod didn't regress at all when he left..... Oh wait?
